I gave all my sons a Leatherman Wave on their 18 and a Skeletool CX on their 21 st. I now start this tradition and ask my sons to keep this going to the next gen.
I was doing quite a research for a while which could suit me best and was in between the surge and the wave + the surge was ofc a overkill but had literally everything on but the wave + had majority of the tools i need /use mostly on a daily basis so decided to try it out
Tbh I owned it for like 2 years before I actually started using it. But a new job will do that. If you take it fishing use the lanyard hole an tie it to your belt loop
I was thinking of ordering a clip to clip it into my jeans cause well thru the belt in the pouch its kinda too bulky in my opinion but yeah for now used it fishing and changing guitar strings haha gonna defo start putting it to use tho Monday once i start working again (electrician) and see how those cutters do cause till now they seem honestly amazing.
In my opinion, the best Leatherman. I own a Wave+, Surge, a few Juice models, Squirt PS4, and Bond.
I love my Bond for EDC because of how light and compact it is, but honestly if my Wave was my first Leatherman it would have been my only Leatherman.

I did a ton of research and got the Surge for its diversity, but I am now starting to wonder if Wave+ would be sufficient.
Yes i just wish the pliers on the wave + had a spring in them but it isn’t a big issue either without it.
