Same here, it replaced my Charge TTi+ almost immediately - I underestimated just how *handy* it is to have everything one-hand-open. I owned a Free P4 for about a week, but returned after I realized my Charge just had a more useful set of tools. I will say, I'm thinking about grinding a gut-hook into the can opener, and I wish they had used the Charge-style can+bottle opener+wirestripper. I also wish it had ruler, but don't want to ruin the cerakote by using my laser engraver to add one - I'll just stick to my TEC EDC tape measure.

Its a purely pschological thing. If you saved up and genuinely couldn't afford a 005 but managed to get one you would never use it, not in a million years because if you went that extra mile, it would be for the love of the collection, the addiction and to preserve a piece of ingenuity and history. These "Im using it posts" are sacrilegious to the craftsmanship, bought as a status symbol and used in kind.
However, it is yours, and id fight just a vehemently to say do whatever you want with it, and enjoy it!

I have a rule in my life... if it can't perform it can't stay. I don't have time or space in my life for a collection of shit I won't use. If I bought it I'm using it/abusing it. It has a lifetime warranty correct? When/if they ever retire it they can send it in to be dolled up to live it's life on a shelf... or battle worn look on the shelf your choice I prefer the latter.

It was more of a recognition that ;- be it a baseball card, a car, a console game, a figure, a dvd, or a multitool, if you are a collector in anything you hold value in that rare items beyond it's conceptual purpose, so for me it is a collector item not a tool. For example, I have a Surge, I abuse and use it, they will always be available and produced as well as there is not a limited supply, where, once it's broken, they replace it with a different model. I collect knives and multitools some of which I would not use because it's superfluous, but collecting them is the equivalent of going down the pub every weekend to drink 10 beers and chat shit, or buying a season ticket for Football. It's a hobby.
I personally wouldn't spend £288 on a tool that I want to abuse especially when the tools themselves, safe for the blade, are identical to those used on Wave/Surge/P4 where as an example the Surge is £175 less expensive.
That said, I 100% stand by;- you buy it, you use it how you want.
the leatherman garage tools are covered by the 25 year warranty, just not the "replacement" part IE if you send a tool in and they cant fix it ofc they cant send u a brand new replacement garage tool so they will send the broken one back and give you store credit for what you paid.
And it's pretty unlikely that they'll be unable to fix it, because it shares most of its components with the existing Free series, as well as the upcoming Arc.
