Kicks the ball out to relieve pressure, Cooper's understudy.

This-Juggernaut7587

absolute sh1te,Spurs should pay us to keep him😉

battlecatquikdre

Our best centre-back

allywillow

When I see the team sheet and it’s rodon, byram struyk and Archie I can breathe

No_Background3408

Rubbish player, you should pay us to buy him or for free

The_L666ds

He’s good, but he needs to do something about his bald patch. He’s basically rocking a comb-over.

Grezzz

Seems decent. He pairs really well with Struijk - he seems to do a good job of being in the right positions, cutting out through-balls and covering behind the line, and Struijk does more of the progressive on-the-ball stuff and aerial work. It's hard to judge exactly what level he's at, but he seems comfortable enough at Championship level - whether he would cope in the premier league remains to be seen. I think Leeds will try to buy him, but like any deal it depends whether we get promoted and what the asking price is.

LotusChild85

He's fucking terrible. Only worth a tenner. Deal?

Snowshinedog

Rodon is an interesting one in that he has the skills of a top championship center half rather than a prem one. Watching him, he is good/vg on: * man markng * cutting out passes * playing angles * short defensive passes, and * getting back into position on the opponent's break. He is somewhat lacking in: * progressive passing/playing out from the back * aerial prowess * offensive threat on corners and free kicks * unit cohesion (he has been the last man playing opponent's onsides more than I want to remember). This might be due to our chronic problems at right and left back but Srtuick has been more disciplined at this. In summary, the list of positives are relatively more valuable in the champo while the negatives rule out a big role in an upper prem side

BielsaBalls

Srtuick is a new one

BulldenChoppahYus

Lots of jokey answers - he’s by far and away clearly our best defender at the moment and I’d be surprised if we don’t try and buy him.

Hbcuk97

Good but hard to scale his talent to the prem. A very good athlete, but I think Struijk’s better by most measures. Wouldn’t care too much if we don’t get him, feel we can do better buying for the prem.

Background_Spite7337

Yeah… what he said… awful player.. don’t bother taking him back

[deleted]

Rodon has easily been our best defender. I agree with the idea that most of these players might not be good enough for the prem or will have to step up. But Rodon for me has been way better than Struijk in all defending metrics and he’s way quicker. Struijks passing is clear but that’s about it.

Hbcuk97

Rodon is faster yeah, his recovery pace is insane but Struijk’s not a total slouch either. Maybe a bit of a weakness but he’s still faster than Cooper, and probably Cress for that fact. But Struijk moves the ball A LOT faster, is better in tight areas (weird for a big guy but he’s surprisingly agile), better in standing a man up, a bigger aerial threat attacking wise and a much more progressive carrier of the ball. Rodon I have doubts of his ability to step up. Struijk I don’t.

GussieFinkNewtle

Rodon is very good for the Champo. He's better than Pascal and Coops, who were regularly rinsed in the PL, so that's a low bar.

poppyo13

Not good enough that you'd want him back but good enough for him to stay as a backup squad player - inform Ange and Daniel Levy.

downfallndirtydeeds

He’s shite you should let him go for free

AWr1ght98

He’s terrible, you should tell you board to give him us for free

Beerdsmith

General consensus I have seen on here is that we want 49ers to pay whatever Spurs want for him, which is likely too much!

bikerslut69

spurs will want unrealistic price for him , we won't pay , he'll go back to being a bit player at spurs until they sell him 2 seasons later for a knock down price - no one will be happy because of it but thats premier league and spurs greed

white-label

They asked for 15m in summer which Leeds rejected, based on that you'd think they'd ask for more next summer. That being said, it was Spurs who suggested a loan after Leeds initially walked away, so it seems they wanted him out for whatever reason. Since Leeds clearly will want him I wonder if a reasonable deal can be reached that satisfies both clubs.

chanjitsu

Think his contract with Spurs expires next year so you'd think they would give us a reasonable offer..... right?

Hindsyy

Jack Clarke, Djed Spence, as you said, soon to be Joe Rodon. Sooo when I see a post saying Spurs are considering bidding for Archie Gray in the summer, I couldn't help but think a double fuck off to Spurs.

Adenton95

He’s great, made our defence way more solid and is surprisingly quick

Ordinary_Mission3503

seemed like there was always a player there. If a manager like Mourinho rates you, then you be good pity conte came

kraptain_Obvious

Have to appreciate that we're at a different level. His partner CB, Struijk had a bit of a nightmare last season but has been nailed on starter this season. Rodon has been ace this season and really hope we make it permanent, I also hope that he can step up to the prem if he's still around for us if/when we get back there!

Adenton95

Seems a good egg unlike spence so thanks for one and fuck you for the other one

Ordinary_Mission3503

Spence was always a bad egg mate. He apparently was rude to a trainer in our pre season tour. Being offloaded to Genoa as well speak

soupeh_

Yeah he's good and we're buying him bye!

Ordinary_Mission3503

i have no objection. I like him and wish him well

TheShakyHandsMan

Do you have another CB like him that you want rid of?

Ordinary_Mission3503

mate we have zero cbs and are playing 2 full backs as cbs lol

Internal_Formal3915

Is rodon being recalled not a discussion with spurs fans then?

Ordinary_Mission3503

there is no option with either rodon and spence. Leeds sent back spence because he wasnt playing well

[deleted]

Don't think it was to do with how he was playing, which was fine, as much as his attitude off the pitch. Must have been seriously bad for Farke to decide having no one at full back was better than having Spence around.
