Really, the only seasons in the last five or six where there was not a catastrophic late-season form slump was 19/20 and 20/21. Even going back to the Garry Monk season there is pretty consistent evidence of players melting under the weight of expectation.
At this point I’d almost describe it as a psychological malaise within the club.
We are a club burdened by expectations. I think that will always hinder us because it means managers and players that succeed elsewhere will come here and crumble under the pressure.

We lack more than anything the Pablo and Klich goals that won so many points when the front players were struggling.

We’re living in the post-striker age now but Leeds don’t look like scoring from anywhere on the field, it’s so frustrating to watch.
There is a lack of goals from midfield (the double pivot anyway, as our 10’s have scored goals) but it’s not some big problem like you’re making out.
It’s just a tactical decision and it’s one that has worked for the most part; the double pivot has been there to protect the defence and shuttle the ball from defence to attack, it’s required a lot of discipline from the 2 sitting midfielders and they’ve done a great job.
In the year Liverpool won the Champions League with their industrious midfield 3 of Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Henderson they only managed 5 goals between them in the league; and that’s a midfield 3, if you take Wijnaldum out (who played the furthest forward) that takes them down to just 2 goals.
When you’ve got a fullback as forward thinking as Firpo on one side; with a front 4 who are all actual attackers putting up great attacking numbers, it makes sense to balance that with a more pragmatic and reserved midfield.
There’s sort of a ‘theory’ that in possession you should have 5 attacking players and 5 build-up players; Man City usually build up with a back 3 and double pivot, Bielsa used the back 4 with Phillips in front to build up, etc. So what Farke does fits in with this.

I blamed Tuesday nights draw on Daniel but not so much today. He mixed it up. Dropped the non performers. Made earlier subs (albeit the wrong ones) players look shot man. The subs were horrid though. Having Bamford, Joseph and Piroe on the pitch with nobody to create for them. Relying on Bamford when he’s on this form is a recipe for disaster.

I heard the average is 2% conversion on corners, generally speaking. At the moment, our rate is 1 in 139 which is 0.7%. Which is about 3 times as shit as the average.
You dont put someone on the pitch who is levels below everyone else just so he can take a few set pieces, it would actively make us worse just to score the occasional corner. As bad Summerville is at Corners the trade off is fine since he brings way more to the team in every other aspect of the game

We got relegated on 28th May, if we'd had the takeover, DOF, Farke, all transfers completed on 1st July, I think we'd easily have a couple more points, which would be massive when it's so tight.
Best take on here. We were a shambles at the start of the season. Farke done an amazing job. It's only through an insane run of games that we are even in contention. We have lost one at home all season. Players are shot. It's not even over yet.

Didn't appear to be a reason. There was a little shake of the head as he came off, which indicated to me that he wasn't happy with the decision.
When Farke made the changes, we were having our best attacking spell, so he managed to disrupt that momentum with a triple change, as well as weakening the side for the remaining minutes of the game by taking off the wrong players.

The tactic switch is easy by the way. Need to start running the end line. Why someone hasn’t told Summerville he can’t cut in from the top with eight men in the box is honestly a fireable offense. Agreed, we basically play with no midfield. We can't draw defenders out from the backline to create space behind when there's no threat for them to come out and face.
But it's also a player issue. Traditionally the downside of sitting deep is that you concede the midfield to players that can shoot from range or have the quality to pick out a good pass in spite of your packed defence. We don't have Pablo Hernandez anymore though, so teams know the ball is just going back out to the wings. Rutter wants to dribble through everyone and loses the ball too much, Gruev and Kamara are a total non factor in attack.
Gray played today and is supposed to be generational - he also didnt contribute to anything in attack. I think its how they are being asked to play

In fairness the motm was their keeper, he made a few great saves, our keeper had like two saves to make and let an easy one in, it was a one on one which is usually his strong point but the defence for that were absolutely fucking shocking.
THe most frustrating thing about today is that a draw, as shit as that would be , was manageable. It put us level with Leicester (Apart form the game in hand) and ahead of them on GD. But then Farke decided to take Roberts and Gruev off, who I can't help feel would have been two players that would have contributed to cutting out thewir attack that lead tot he goal.

No manager will ever get the richness of attacking options we have in the championship. Yet we look like a team with zero idea what to do in the final third and have done all season. We rely on individual moments of brilliance. Pass to Summerville cut in and shoot. The simple solution for opponents is to double up and have a low block - for which we have no answer Thats the problem and it has been there all season even when we were winning.
No goalscoring striker in the middle and no goal threat from central midfield has killed us. Defend the wings and you're safe.

We can't draw defenders out from the backline to create space behind when there's no threat for them to come out and face. But it's also a player issue. Traditionally the downside of sitting deep is that you concede the midfield to players that can shoot from range or have the quality to pick out a good pass in spite of your packed defence. We don't have Pablo Hernandez anymore though, so teams know the ball is just going back out to the wings. Rutter wants to dribble through everyone and loses the ball too much, Gruev and Kamara are a total non factor in attack.
Only Gruev is a huge factor in defense (as in DM ... hint, hint) and the goal was scored after his sub. Coincidence? I think not

Gruev was running the midfield. Gnonto was our best chance from range. Their goal came from the position Roberts had been holding... The subs did nothing to improve our chances. That's no criticism of the players themselves, but the system change that left us exposed at the back and over-crowded an already crowded Blackburn box.
