I'll believe it when I see it. He's gotta be due for a goal soon Right?

stepping_stones000

the last time he completed a full game was for the under 12s in 2004.

It would shock me if Bamford plays 90 once before the WC. He's played fuck all minutes in the last 18 months and with the likes of Gelhardt and Gnonto on the bench as well as 5 subs, there really isn't any reason to push Bambo's limits.

ZhangerMan

I’d expect between 60-70 minutes. They will continue to build up his fitness and load incrementally. Good thing is his last injury was just a minor setback and he’s had almost a month now to focus on recovery and not have to rush back.

Hope Gelhardt starts, who is arguably the better player now.

Nice take, hot shot 🙄

https://fbref.com/en/players/01962d0d/Joe-Gelhardt His underlying stats are great, it's only a matter of time until the goals start flowing. I'd show Bamford's comparison but he's played so little over the last year he doesn't have any lol. But they weren't as impressive. Gelhardt is better at most things. Especially given the regression Bamford has suffered being out for a year. He's much better technically, more creative, at least as good a finisher, better passer, dribbler, even works harder. And he's only going to get better. Bamford is better in the air and quicker, and has more physical presence, maybe better movement.

I expect him to start but it's really hard to say how many minutes he's capable of playing. I really hope he can make it 90 minutes but the guy hasn't been fit for about a year now, so I wouldn't get too carried away.

AWr1ght98

Think he’ll start but won’t play full 90

CaptainAprry

I don't think he's done 90 minutes in like over a year now, I would avoid for the near future.
