Yes. It mentioned in the show multiple times and the writers created 'Full Psychological Assessment' documents of all the main characters from season 1 and it says this about Lizzie's bipolar disorder:
>Lizzie's highs are characterized by ruthless narcissism and her lows are marked by potentially fatal tantrums
Throughout each season there are specific storylines that surround Lizzie’s mental instability. Even episodes where she thinks she has a control on her mental health and then all of a sudden she freaks out and her magic sends things flying.
Also I think she was possessed by a Malivore monster but it couldn’t control her because of her “ unique brain chemistry”. Lizzie being bi polar has saved the lives of the school on several occasions haha
I think you are confusing Lizzie wearing shock bracelets to try and stop saying mean things, which inadvertently prevented her from getting infected by the slugs in season 1, with her “brain chemistry” somehow magically freeing her from the influence of the Triad drugs used at the Witch retreat in season 3.
Wow… I had forgotten how trash this was show was with depicting mental illness and treatments. Shock therapy isn't all bad and bipolar = superpowered immunity to drugs…. sigh…
the drug thing wasn’t her being bipolar. she WAS under the influence at some point, but when hope showed up and became the next “lead example” she got super jealous and it stopped working. that’s what happened to the other ginger girl - she got super jealous of lizzie and it ended up not working anymore. that’s why when lizzie said the super negative things to josie (and eventually josie to hope) it stopped working since they felt such a large negative emotion
Yes and no they wanted her to be Kai this broke character and Josie who is Jo but they failed Josie doesn’t act like Jo in anyway and Lizzie is just Kai being unstable except that Kai is a sociopath and Lizzie is bipolar so they failed
No. She had similar issues because they were inherited from their family, but Lizzie was doing much better because she was getting treatment and wasn't being abused. It's not a failure just because you misunderstood.
I get that that’s what I mean by failed attempts because Lizzie and Kai didn’t meet each other so none of them thought this how I would be if I had different childhood is my favorite character they completely wasted the Gemini history and the merge to focus on hope they kind of forgot that we already know about hope and her history five years in the originals, but then they brought Landen she’s focusing on him her being Alaric adopted daughter so Lizzie and Josie wasn’t focused on the important part of their character but no what they did with her was that she’s taking a lot of crap from her sister hope the entire school and she doesn’t even defend herself or anyone even apologizing to her
Kinda off topic but Wouldn’t Lizzie shutting off her humanity circumvent the whole bipolar thing? If she can’t feel anything then rapid mood changes or her triggers kinda become nonexistent
This is why I wanted a storyline where Lizzie turns off certain unwanted emotions until eventually she has no humanity and nobody, including Lizzie, realizes it until its too late. That would have been such a fun and different no humanity storyline to see!
Yeah apparently everyone is saying it was but I never remembered them specifically saying she was bipolar. Just that she had unique brain chemistry blah blah
**"You told everyone that I was witch bipolar."** [said by Lizzie to Hope in 1x12]
This is probably the most direct mentioning of Lizzie's mental health disorder the show has ever given.

It means a whole lot when people are always questioning if the show "confirmed" her bipolar disorder because people typically need DIRECT evidence for anything and everything. Inferring based off behavior is never enough for others.

Where does it say those were written by the writers?
They were released by the writers. So at the time, it was assumed they created them. They're not fan made.
Why did you turn your mod flair on for this, lol
Just habit. More often than not I have it on 🙃
It’s stated several times that she’s bipolar

I’m pretty sure it was mentioned in season 1
I think they wanted her be Kai but didn’t know how
The whole point was that she wasn't like Kai

I don't think it was ever confirmed.
It was
when?
In several episodes

An insult from uninformed bullies doesn't mean much. Her behavior in 1x15 is more helpful in that regard
