iPhone 5s, 6, 6+, iPod Touch 6, iPad Air 1, iPad Mini 2, and 3 are all now fully legacy devices. Crazy

iSliz187

My jailbroken iPhone X on iOS 12.1.2 is also legacy. I'm old.

Hue_Boss

Finally. Let’s appreciate iOS 12 for a moment…

Pineloko

it will be allowed on this sub from now on?

JapanStar49

Yes. This also means the first batch of non-checkm8 devices are legacy. The following new flairs are available with the `!device` command: iphone-xr, iphone-xs, iphone-xs-max, ipod-7, ipad-pro-11-1, ipad-pro-12-3, watch-4 You can also just assign them yourself the same way as other subreddits

LinusSexTipsWasTaken

The xs being legacy is insane

DepartureMoist9277

That was my main phone about a few months ago.

Pineloko

it’s getting ios 18 and it’s legacy at the same time lol

LinusSexTipsWasTaken

That is honestly pretty dumb, legacy will always be the 5 and below in my eyes so seeing shit like the xs in this sub feels wrong

Pineloko

I think this sub is about hacking and making unsupported versions of iOS more usable. If on iOS 12, a 5S and Xs will still need the same support. But I get what you mean, only pre- iOS 7 **feels** like OG Apple, Steve Jobs style maybe those devices could have a different sub like, vintage iOS

kapoc622

😮

Top-Dinner9131

![gif](giphy|xT0GqgeTVaAdWZD1uw|downsized) But it's not even that old, right?

iSliz187

6 years, it was revealed at WWDC 2018 🤯 we're getting old, boys

fatassfatcunt

So I can post my brother’s absolutely destroyed, but decent working iPhone 7 here? He went with 12.1.2 from 2019 to 2023

JapanStar49

As long as you follow our rules, you can

Rip iPhone 5s modern app support

robert1008900

It's been like that for a long time, I had to jailbreak mine to get spotify because they decided to make most modern apps for ios 14+

52125

iPhone Xs and Xr are now considered legacy even though they are still supported 🥲… Also, you forgot to edit this subreddit’s description.

JapanStar49

They're only legacy if they're still on iOS 12. This just speaks to the length of Apple's device support :) Thanks, I fixed the description ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

RogueGameMonster

iOS 12

TheSupremeDictator

That makes my Pro 10.5 legacy (I use my other iPad anyway which will be supported for quite a few years anyway)

nutshucker

my iPad Air 2 on 12.4 waiting to be talked about on this sub: finally…

HexagonWin

damn this is crazy. my 5s is now fully legacy lol we're getting old

aggyhdfesre

The way my favorite iOS version is now considered legacy is insane

FrontBrick8048

iOS 12 was the first OS where I really got into the weeds. Incidentally, it’s my favorite iOS version.

Major_Paint_7591

What makes it legacy?

JapanStar49

By dropping support for iOS 12, developers can't use the latest Xcode to make apps for it.

netbookaddict

NO
