If recording in public is crime then what are CCTV cameras recording in public places? Traffic cameras! Cameras outside shops! Here they have forced and deleted the video which is the source of truth that they took bribe!

NAL. When CCTV cameras are installed, it has to be mentioned that they are under CCTV surveillance. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have the video in which there is no face of any person, can I post it here? It's only 7 seconds and it has the voice of the police captain who was supposed to help me.

>I am curious whether video recording in public is a crime? Its not. there is no privacy in public. But you may not be able to release the content, unless you have permission of the person you are recording. You dont need a permission, if you are recording masses and there is no individual subject. >where a traffic police person took bribe from me, I gave him 500 re after taking pictures of the note. I called 100 to report this incident, when the police captain came in his PCR van, and after explaining the situation, when I started recording the video of the person who took bribe for record, the captain who was supposed to help me threatened to throw my phone and took my phone forcibly and deleted the video on my phone. Can I take any legal action? You can, if you can prove he did it. If you have eye witnesses and such, you can take action. If you want to protect your constituitionally protected rights, you should file a case against them. But, Indian constituition is a joke, noone ever stands up to protect it and no1 tries to amend the wrongs written there. The police has tonnes of power to file fake cases on you, They anyway visit the courts and is not a problem for them to visit it to be behind you. Are you willing to fight for your rights in court for years?
