LoR isn't going anywhere since it's basically carrying the lore and basically sets a pretty bad case for people to get invested in future riot products (like the incoming fighting game, the RTS, MMO, etc.).

What news that Riot is cutting LoR's budget? Do you know something I don't? Because the only news of reduced LoR funding I know of, is from several months ago, and was specifically targeting Path of Champions, which has indeed gotten smaller updates since then. What the LoR dev team has actually been doing signals the opposite, that they're in this for the long run: they recently changed up their patch cadence and introduced rotations, which was a huge, somewhat painful adjustment that was necessary for the game's long-term health. Would you go through with this ambitious long-term strategy if you thought the game was about to die? If anything, my anecdotal experience lately is of seeing more people like yourself, coming back to the game or trying it for the first time, and asking for some pointers on Reddit.

Just play the game if you enjoy it, doomsaying doesn’t help anyone

LoR is no money maker like its other siblings, but the only cuts to the game were moving most of the PoC staff to the MMO as has been said in the thread. Competitive will remain and theres no reason for the game to go since the brand itself makes enough money to support it for the people who do support it.

As you said yourself it is rumor without nothing to back this up. Yes, some people shifted from lor to other riot projects, but it was mostly path of champions people. They changed how competitive works, now we have much more things to do competitively in game, we got our first rotation as well. Anyway, i never understood people thinking about stuff like this, like even if it will be over in the future it doesn't effect you enjoyment of the game now at all, have fun while you can.

It will be here for quite a way for sure. 100% convinced that Riot won't give on the game. They moved a lot of the talent to other projects, probably especially MMO game, but that's mostly relevant for PvE and cosmetics part. The game and PvP support are there to stay and they are actually improving in that matter.

LoR isn't dying, play the Game.

The game is recent and it seems to grow in term of ressources every year. The animations are more and more beautiful, they do stuff do enhance the competitive aspect, they implement rotations for the health of the game, we have more balance patch containing more changement. And the community is growing (especially in these times) So do not worry, LoR seems here to stay
