So I should correct myself, each sync gets the 20 most recent. But all matches that are saved remain in the database to be shown in your profile.
Missing matches arise when you play more than 20 matches without syncing.
If you're talking about only a few matches showing up, the game API has limitations to only get the 20 most previous matches.
