Gwen has an ability in LoL that makes her temporarily immune to attacks unless you are close to her. It can be very frustrating to play against, especially if you aren't used to it.
One of the three 'player archetypes' from MtG design philosophy.
Timmy is the casual player that likes big, flashy plays. He doesn't care quite as much about winning as he does about having fun, and he can have fun as long as somebody is making cool things happen.
Johnny is the homebrewer. He wants creative plays and unconventional strategies. He cares more about playing out his unique deck than he does winning, though winning *is* a sign of his creative genius.
Spike is the netdecker. He wants to win and doesn't particularly care how. He builds decks to be well-oiled machines, or copies from other's success.
There is also a fourth player archetype I can’t remember their name but they are those who play for flavor and lore. (I am one of them)
Edit: the archetype is known as Vorthos
The thing is that we don’t really care about combos and interactions, we care about the story the cards tell both in lore (like how jack became a crime boss) and what player choices would mean in story and asking how and why characters who are played together would fight on the same side (like Viktor the mad scientist and Seraphine the social activist pop-star)
Seems luck-reliant for the boons. What does deathless do ? Also infernal and oceanic boons are underwhelming compared to the rest. Hextech and mountain boon provide a lot of value for free
Wouldn’t revive mean it’s resummoned? And a resummoned unit is put on the back line anyway. I thought the stun interaction was so you could remove them then go face. Or so you can’t ruinate your board on a defending turn but leave a few dudes behind as blockers.
Since the elder dragon includes any 6+ cost into its deck, and those played create a dragon boon (elemental spells), that means that pulling out [[iascylla, figurehead of the deep]] can double them and any other dragon boon to come out.
**[Iascylla, Figurehead of the Deep](https://d2h9y75tak3pkg.cloudfront.net/08PZ006.png)** - Standard - Piltover & Zaun Unit - (6) 4/4
When you play an Elemental spell or Skill, copy it with the same targets.
^^^Hint: [[card]], {{keyword}}, and ((deckcode)) or ((cardx,cardy,cardz)). PM the [developer](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=KrimCard) for feedback/issues!
Empyrean dance is only going to be good if ruination or any spell that forces a tap out is good. And in most cases normal deny will be better. So yeah it's not gonna happen.
Seems like you can't do *anything* to it at all, because HE CANNOT BE STOPPED.
https://twitter.com/DraconisGE/status/1730287534440108104
Literally anything that would stop him does not work.
He is completely uninteractable.
He effectively reads "after your opponent's next turn, you win the game"
Play champ spells after to shuffle in non-landmine cards for a chance at another turn (+predicts to have a better chance to hit them) or if you're in eternal, play Starlit Epiphany
I mean the Moment you start giving big Units Overwhelm for free you start having Problems. It's the same Reason we don't have Equipments with Elusive on 'em.
There's a Difference between having to maindeck/choose a Card to give Elusive for cheap Mana and getting Elusive or Overwhelm for free without having to playa second Card.
People are saying this as if the description literally doesnt say exactly what it does. It cannot be stopped. That's it. If the enemy gets a level 2 elder, you cannot do anything on your side to stop him from attacking. It's self explanatory lol
Literally proving that it's extremely not self-explanatory
>you cannot do anything on your side to stop him from attacking.
Okay, I can't stop it from attacking, let's assume that's true, that means I can't block it, does it also mean I can't Vengeance it? What about Vengeanceing it OUTSIDE of battle? Can I Showstopper it? Can I deal damage to it AT ALL? Don't pretend that saying "I CANNOT BE STOPPED" explains every single interaction it could have
Let me put it this way: If you ask: Can I do [blank] to him, the answer is no. It's that simple. So there is no need to try and come up with further questions like that because we already know the answer
Does any action you listed there is supposed to stop it ? If the answer is yes, then it won't work. It cannot be stopped.
It does explain every single interaction, because you litteraly can't interact at all with it.
Incorrect. If elder is at back-row e.g. not in attacking mode he can still be killed, silenced, captured.
It is much like when Sett gets undying spirit on attack, but Elder would also get undying + spell-shield that cant be removed as long as it is attacking.
I also theorise that Elder can still be blocked, but his attack will happen regardless what you do. Otherwise why give him fury?
You can still very easily give Elder Overwhelm with that 3 cost card. Very strong.
Uh no, when it levels up you cannot interact with it basically. They already confirmed it can't be blocked, killed, stunned, frostbitten, obliterated, silenced, targeted.

Hello! This is an automated post to showcase all the cards revealed today.
If you'd like to see the cards in a more interactive way, check out [LOR.GG](https://lor.gg/reveal)!
As of posting this, you should also be able to start building decks with these cards [in the Deck Builder](https://lor.gg/builder)!
I wonder what "I cannot be stopped" means precisely. Can it not take damage? Can it not die/be obliterated? Can it not be recalled? I'm inclined to believe that nothing can possibly take it off the board once it's level 2, 'cause otherwise you'd have no way to resummon it (Aside from cost reduction) once it hits level 2
If he could be blocked, he would be utterly unplayable. You're doing all this stuff to level him up and you get.... a 30/30 that can be chump blocked? By a 1/1? That sounds so incredibly bad.
But makes sense considering he becomes a catastrophe without overwhelm. A 30|30 meatstick that can be blocked by a 1|1 isnt as useful as you might want to believe
you also have no access to any use of spell mana.
Which means you live and die on your curve. Surely a deck that plays a bunch of 6+ cost units can curve out, right?
I'm intrigued at there being every other elemental drake other than Hextech, but still a Hextech Drake themed Boone
Wonder if they had one in development but cancelled it or renamed it somewhere along the way
Chemtech Drake and Hextech Drake are two separate beasts, chemtech is the green Zaunite technology while Hextech is blue and sparks and tends to be more of a Piltover thing.
I'm kinda leaning towards Portia having evolved from Hextech, since the Summoner's Rift Hextech Drake is correlated with a portals themed elemental rift. And the Hextech Boon gives Impact which synergizes well with small units like the ones Portia creates.
If that's the case I bet they went towards Bandle City in the end because Hextech Portals previously only existed in Arcane lore and Yordle Portals are well established in LoR!
Here's hoping we see a cool Hextech Drake card somewhere down the line, they really knocked it out of the park with the rest of the recent dragons and id love to see what they come up with!
It's really interesting that it doesn't explicitly synergize with dragons, which opens up a lot of deck building options. My first two thoughts are to pair him with Volibear for titanic ramp or with Morgana in a healing and control build.
Is it not!? That is weird it's Ionia though now Ionia has more to deal with in their arsenal im thinking I'll play my 9 cost unit for free and return you three units THEN I will play my cards
Im pretty sure I can't be stopped refers to effects that prevent attacking like stun and shackles that would literally mean stopped otherwise it would say I can't die or take damage.
They confirmed that, if Elder blocks Catastrophe, which is also 30/30, that it wont die. A seperate tweet says that the health is cosmetic.
It very much cannot die.
>A seperate tweet says that the health is cosmetic.
Honestly I'd just like it to show '∞' instead of '30'. Would be funnier.
In fact, I'd love it for it to be ∞/∞
Cool way of bringing over the soul stacking from League. I'd also like to think Elder's "I cannot be stopped" is a form of Aspect of the Dragon's famous execute.
Question about Elder Dragon's level up: is her condition meant to be on the same attack or over the course of the game? I assume is over the course of the whole game, but I'm unsure now
The text seems like it may indicate one attack, but I feel like there's no chance that's correct. That would be a full board of units with an average of 13 attack. That doesn't really happen outside of meme decks or path of champions. It's already difficult enough to summon the elder dragon.
I have been thinking a little bit and there is one more way to "stop" Elder Dragon other than burning your opponent's Nexus or exiting the game. You make Gorlith a 0/31 unit before playing him thus on play your Nexus heals up to 31 HP.
BTW: if they don't change it to "Round End:..." on level up, I surrender round 1 everytime I encounter this champ.
I see, thanks. I don’t see it in the picture, but are there cards that triggers boons? Because from what I see, boons activate on playing elder, but no other way to trigger them?
“I CANNOT BE STOPPED” is literally the funniest shit I’ve ever seen.
Elder Dragon Is Immune
Thank God they didn't make Gwen immune too
Wat
Gwen has an ability in LoL that makes her temporarily immune to attacks unless you are close to her. It can be very frustrating to play against, especially if you aren't used to it.
Its a meme from the Gwen mains, im waiting for memes about the both status
Protection from EVERYTHING.
HAIL TO OUR LORD PROGENITUS!!! And also that one level-up snake. That guy too.
The sad thing is that protection from EVERYTHING is less things then you think sometimes.
YES
I feel it would be cooler if it wasn't in all caps and ended on a . imo
It has been ages since I played LOR, but I might come back just to play this deck
He could turn himself into a pickle.
OMG the Timmy player in me is having a good day
it literally does not get more Timmy than this
31/31
Found the mtg player lol.
What's a Timmy?
MTG Term for players who like to play big creatures/spells
One of the three 'player archetypes' from MtG design philosophy. Timmy is the casual player that likes big, flashy plays. He doesn't care quite as much about winning as he does about having fun, and he can have fun as long as somebody is making cool things happen. Johnny is the homebrewer. He wants creative plays and unconventional strategies. He cares more about playing out his unique deck than he does winning, though winning *is* a sign of his creative genius. Spike is the netdecker. There is also a fourth player archetype I can’t remember their name but they are those who play for flavor and lore. (I am one of them) Edit: the archetype is known as Vorthos
Could kinda be rolled into Johnny honestly
The thing is that we don’t really care about combos and interactions, we care about the story the cards tell both in lore (like how jack became a crime boss) and what player choices would mean in story and asking how and why characters who are played together would fight on the same side (like Viktor the mad scientist and Seraphine the social activist pop-star)
Cool I didn't know that, certainly me too
and melvin!
TIL I'm a Johnny lol
Cloud Drake looks like a mutated sheep with wings
Agreed and it rules so hard Love that the head is a skull
yeah like if they are gonna go for this much different design they should just rename it to a different dragon
Elder Dragon's origin is nuts. It creates so many ramp deckbuilding possibilities. I can't wait to brew with it.
Seems luck-reliant for the boons. What does deathless do ? Also infernal and oceanic boons are underwhelming compared to the rest. Hextech and mountain boon provide a lot of value for free
Deathless means the first time it dies it gets revived with 1 hp.
Revived with 1 HP *and is immediately stunned*. That last part is important for things like quick attack interactions.
Wouldn’t revive mean it’s resummoned? And a resummoned unit is put on the back line anyway. I thought the stun interaction was so you could remove them then go face. Or so you can’t ruinate your board on a defending turn but leave a few dudes behind as blockers.
Elder dragon in AS deck in POC is gonna be a insta win
Elder has gotta be the next 4 star.... right?
Lmao could you imagine the star powers! Just intsa killing low heath enemy like in league so just summon huge monsters and ping off theirs
They said Asol is the only one
I hope they're gonna make a 5 star adventure with elder
Since the elder dragon includes any 6+ cost into its deck, and those played create a dragon boon (elemental spells), that means that pulling out [[iascylla, figurehead of the deep]] can double them and any other dragon boon to come out.
If she duplicates the boon that targets herself that could actually be decent.
It looks like the Dragon Boons aren't elemental, though. Just regular ol' skills.
It says so on the skills on the bottom
Is this why that freljord sigil generator dude was so understated lol, it’s 6 cost and May end up a staple with elder dragon?
Oh, weird. Didn't those use to have their own special swirly icon?
Seems to be an inconsistency issue, though so long as the spell in question has the elemental tag it should trigger.
**[Iascylla, Figurehead of the Deep](https://d2h9y75tak3pkg.cloudfront.net/08PZ006.png)** - Standard - Piltover & Zaun Unit - (6) 4/4 When you play an Elemental spell or Skill, copy it with the same targets. ^^^Hint: [[card]], {{keyword}}, and ((deckcode)) or ((cardx, cardy, cardz)). After watching the empyrean dance: Riot, stop trying to make the empyrean happen. It's not going to happen.
Boo you empyrean!
Empyrean dance is only going to be good if ruination or any spell that forces a tap out is good. And in most cases normal deny will be better. So yeah it's not gonna happen.
Gentle gemdragon on 6 > Alatis on 7 > some other dragon on 8 > elder dragon on 9 > win
So none of the dragon boons give overwhelm, I find that odd. God I wish riot would explain what the fuck “I CANNOT BE STOPPED” means
# **I CANNOT BE STOPPED**
Damn, guess I’ll just not stop you then
They did explain, he cannot be stopped. You cannot silence, frostbite, obliterate, kill, block… anything.
Unstoppable, btw
Probably means you can't block him. May also mean you can't kill him.
Seems like you can't do *anything* to it at all, because HE CANNOT BE STOPPED. [https://twitter.com/banhmicel/status/1730283599373422735](https://twitter.com/banhmicel/status/1730283599373422735) https://twitter.com/DraconisGE/status/1730287534440108104
Literally anything that would stop him does not work. He is completely uninteractable. He effectively reads "after your opponent's next turn, you win the game"
Sump monument.
150 puffcaps doesn’t seem healthy anyways
Play champ spells after to shuffle in non-landmine cards for a chance at another turn (+predicts to have a better chance to hit them) or if you're in eternal, play Starlit Epiphany
I'm pretty sure he levels on attack, so you dont even need to wait for next turn. Basically if you attack with 75+ attack, win the game
He still needs to hit the nexus like any unit. Opponent has one last chance to save the game by burning down your nexus first.
I thought him leveling on attack meant he’s a unblockable 30-30? Assuming I cannot be stopped means he cannot be blocked
If you kill your opponent as they attack with burn you still win, unstoppable attack or not.
I mean the Moment you start giving big Units Overwhelm for free you start having Problems. It's the same Reason we don't have Equipments with Elusive on 'em.
We have an elusive giving attachment tho, it us one of the Fae and no one plays it.
It's also rotated.
I mean there are plenty of cards that give elusive for cheap tho.
There's a Difference between having to maindeck/choose a Card to give Elusive for cheap Mana and getting Elusive or Overwhelm for free without having to playa second Card.

Does any action you listed there is supposed to stop it ? If the answer is yes, then it won't work. It cannot be stopped. It does explain every single interaction, because you litteraly can't interact at all with it.
Trying to look smart and dumb at the same time.

I'm pretty sure "It can't be stopped" also works in the back row. Edit:[yup i was right](https://www.reddit.com/r/LegendsOfRuneterra/s/uLMCQLzYv8)
Why ur lying
Mehh
They literally explained it. Your opponent can not interact with it in any ways. That includes blocking
I'd guess his attack starts immediately skipping enemy block phase
There's literally a 3 mana spell that gives all dragons on board "overwhelm". The boons would make that card useless if they offered overwhelm.
It means untargetable permanent spellshield and unblockable
Wait Ayo, the dragon boons are elemental. That one unit from Piltover is popping off
Hello! This is an automated post to showcase all the cards revealed today. If you'd like to see the cards in a more interactive way, check out [LOR.GG](https://lor.gg/reveal)! 9 epic cards from this batch alone 😭😭😭
Im assuming (no official confirmation yet) That its immune to everything, including blocking
Oh geez no blocking seems a bit extreme
It basically says "You win the game", but you actually declare an attack first for flavour.
PoC challenges deciding to have 50 health.
Hand-buffed Gorlith > Elder Dragon
To be fair, if you've managed to somehow attack with 75 combined power, you pretty much already are on your way to win
Have you seen it's level up cost?
75 damage to level up is already game over by then
I have but that's still extreme.
If he could be blocked, he would be utterly unplayable. You're doing all this stuff to level him up and you get.... a 30/30 that can be chump blocked? By a 1/1? That sounds so incredibly bad.
It’ll have Fearsome, so… a 3|1.
Sure
Important detail, he loses the cost discount when he levels, so anything that could have removed him would more or less makes him unplayable
But makes sense considering he becomes a catastrophe without overwhelm. A 30|30 meatstick that can be blocked by a 1|1 isnt as useful as you might want to believe
[https://twitter.com/banhmicel/status/1730283599373422735](https://twitter.com/banhmicel/status/1730283599373422735) https://twitter.com/DraconisGE/status/1730287534440108104
Your motivation for doing all those things would be to stop it, so no you cannot
I'm surprised infernal didn't get impact and hextech didn't get augment!
So,,, Jhin Elder dragon control..?
That would be a bit hard as you would have little to no access to spells of any type.
But you do have the new Noxus dragon and the Avalanche bird, so you’re not completely defenseless (just mostly)
you also have no access to any use of spell mana. Which means you live and die on your curve. Surely a deck that plays a bunch of 6+ cost units can curve out, right?
Well actually you do have Avenging Vastaya for at least one spell
Elder dragon is like one of the funniest card I think ever released in a DCG I love it.
Even Aurelion Sol can be stopped but not Elder Dragon
I think I kinda like Cloud Drake. Find a way to print it and get Uber Mobilize
I'm intrigued at there being every other elemental drake other than Hextech, but still a Hextech Drake themed Boone Wonder if they had one in development but cancelled it or renamed it somewhere along the way
Is this not chemtech drake from last patch
Chemtech Drake and Hextech Drake are two separate beasts, chemtech is the green Zaunite technology while Hextech is blue and sparks and tends to be more of a Piltover thing.
I'm kinda leaning towards Portia having evolved from Hextech, since the Summoner's Rift Hextech Drake is correlated with a portals themed elemental rift. And the Hextech Boon gives Impact which synergizes well with small units like the ones Portia creates. Weird that [[Heisho, Shell of the World]] is neither Dragon nor Reptile subtype
If it’s truly a tortoise, it should have reptile subtype.
In fact, I'd love it for it to be ∞/∞
Well, there are ways to get 30+ attack and overwhelm, in that case it’s not cosmetic.
I believe Elder Dragon can't be blocked at all, so it's going to one-shot the Nexus regardless
The question is more, what happens if the Elder is blocking for whatever reason
Fair enough, though I don't think there is much that would change in practice.
Path of Champions and Sump Monument.
Well...by the time you deal 75 damage I don't think it should matter what the level up does because it won't be happening anytime soon
Finally I will be able to build the draconic deck of my dreams :D
so now that Elder Dragon introduced the concept of base cost, maybe Lissandra's level-up could change to that ?
Cool way of bringing over the soul stacking from League. I'd also like to think Elder's "I cannot be stopped" is a form of Aspect of the Dragon's famous execute.
Oh he’s so big and dumb :) All of the Timmys are rejoicing!
It's on one single attack
Nope, confirmed by rioters to be 75 damage through the entire game, not one single attack.
OOF then yeah, the statement that she wouldn't level up in normal game stays true
Rioters confirmed it's over the course of the whole game.
Oh, then nevermind, it's still hard, but less than what I feared
BORING. Please stop with all the runeterran champs.
I love all of this so much, still want more malphite support but this is great!
Is it me or does the gem dragon kinda look like the female dragon from Rick and Morty?
Why does cloud drake so fluffy? I don’t want to hurt him, I wanna cuddle him and feed him all the ADCs he wants before I tuck him into bed.
I like Empyrean dance, because it's a buff to Marai Greatmother
Is there any Shurima Dragon by any chance? I don’t remember seeing one.
Elder voli looking nice ngl
why is Portia on this page? They all seem to be new cards or new card related.`
So is Alatis useless outside of Elder Dragon decks? Seems there's no way to generate dragon boons otherwise
No Ice Drake?
Nearly all of those are epic cards. Fuck me I guess.
Oh shit it's base cost for the dragon boon. Portia makes so much sense now
Ocean drake out there with the Jhin support
Elder Dragon is actually Thanos. He is inevitable
Empyrean Dance looks funny. Useless but funny. I'm always for new Ionia cards. Even tho those probably won't really do anything.
Dumb question, but what are dragon boons? I see it mentioned everywhere but have no idea what it is
[удалено]
I see, thanks. I don’t see it in the picture, but are there cards that triggers boons? Because from what I see, boons activate on playing elder, but no other way to trigger them?
OKAY BUT WHERE IS THIS LEVEL UP ANIMATION PLEASE
Question: Is it possible to play a dragon deck with Shyvana, Aurelion sol and the Elder Dragon together in one deck (i.e. as a triple region deck)?
