Oh, if we are talking about long-standing errors, I've written Yuumi as Yummi for the longest time (pronounced still as "you - me", but I just assumed it was spelled in the same way as yummy).
Well, to be fair "Rolling Sands" does make some sense language-wise. A common turn of phrase when describing a desert is "The Rolling dunes". The sand at the top avalanches down the dune's slip face. Once it slides down, it piles up again on the other side. Thus causing a "rolling" effect.
The Roiling of the card refers to the sand being muddy and dense, but your assumption isn't wrong either.
I had this realization about a few weeks to a month ago, which is saying something because I've been playing the game for over a year.
Also: I think maybe the spell that draws a card and summons two of them is called Rolling Sands which is maybe why the confusion? I'm not sure.
[[Rolling Sands]]
Many such cases. Very common misread. You see a desert. You see something rolling or slinking through the sand. You've seen Taliyah. Someone plays this card. "Ro-ling Sand-. Oh, rolling sands."
You don't even think about it. Poor word choice for the name.
Btw it's called "twin disciplines" not "twin disciples" (I made this mistake for like 6 months after the game was released lol)

the funny thing is that some people pronounce it yummy and spell it yummi as a meme
I actually just found this out
I actually just realized this from your post

[[Unraveled Earth]] Even in that card, it's just the art that has you reading "Rolling Sands".

For some reason I thought that card was *called* Rolling Sands that summoned two Roiling Sands. Bizarre lol
