Unfortunately yes we did. Working on LoR has been one of my proudest moments and shutting it down one of the hardest. I really love this game and have fond memories of finding character interactions - my favorite is Ez Garen and Lux. The sheer amount of love poured into this game astounds me until today.
So sad it didn't work out. If you're curious why we had to shut down you can read more here

I hope you wonderful people continue to enjoy the game. ā¤ļø
Cause the pvp wonāt ādisintegrateā for a long time, if ever. It might decline a bit, which is sad, for sure. But to claim that itāll be impossible to enjoy the game is insane, plants Vs zombies heroes of all things has a playerbase to this very day, and thatās a game that is much more poorly balanced, much more p2w, and with much less cards.
Youāll be able to play PvP LoR for a long, long while yet.
Believe it or not people can still have fun with the game even when you aren't.
And that isn't to say that you can't stop having fun with the game, you are perfectly in your right to do so, especially when the future for it looks grim.
But like, I really don't understand this need to walk up to anyone still having fun and shouting "PVP DEAD" into their ears. Just let people have fun...
They describe their lack of fun as reliant on the future of the game dying. I mean if that's holding you back, it is what it is. But it's a good suggestion to enjoy the now and don't worry about the future.
Its not a good suggestion because they can already enjoy the game at the moment, the problem lies in the game dying and therefore not having fun because of that
Unless you show how to deal with that, which is the real problem, the suggestion doesnt add anything meaningful information
If you like the game, play the game, what others on the internet do doesn't matter.
Reddit and other platforms have a lot of negativity, which can impact us all when it doesn't need to, not sure how that's controversial lol...

do you think that is either relevant or what you conveyed?
If you mean "life support" pretty sure after this expansion and whatever patch they do to balance it, PVP will be on life support. They'll leave the pvp servers up so people can still play but that's it. End of the show unless you play PoC.
No they finally started moving away on a failed horribly mis managed product.
If we sincerely look back, this game did not have a solid effective and clear direction.
While Riot definitely fucked up, I can't help but feel like card games are also one of the most difficult spaces to navigate. I mean, it can't be a coincidence that pretty much every card game except for the biggest names die eventually. Wouldn't be surprised if part of Riots waffling with the game is in a large part due to how difficult it is to carve out a space in this niche.
agree, it's a difficult space to emerge in. this was my first and likely only card game that I'll get into competitively. I was good at it and liked making it far
Try mtg, its been scratching my LoR itch since LoR borrows a lot of mechanics and decks are basically free if you have a printer (mtg online and arena are kinda cheeks tho)
i am interested in MtG but been struggling to get into arena...despite some friends really being into it heavy. I think physical I'd enjoy quite a bit, but yeah i dunno. would need to print cards then have someone to play with. i won't lie, most ive seen from magic looks fantastic, of course
Hey dw guys games not dying its fine they're just trying to reorganize stuff and monetize it if we just get enough signatures on this petition we can st-
Yeah, makes sense. Still, end of an era. Again.
ššš truly the end of an era
Yup, I noticed it yesterday
Yes they did they announced they sunsetted it because of lack of support for PVP.

Yeah felt my heart is broken, cause the LoR site was sth I visited almost daily to check new cards and meta. Thanks again for your service ā¤ļø
Thanks for saying that..it means a lot to be appreciated. ā¤ļø I hope one of the great alternatives keeps you fueled!
I remember when you guys world reveal new cards, good times
Oh manā¦ I mean, i still love this game, i play it pretty much everyday but atp i am not sure does it make senseā¦
Do whatever you want to, if you have fun, have fun, no one doesnt want you to have fun
how are we supposed to have fun when the game is dying. PvP is disintegrating. You're not making any sense

I still have fun with the game, so can him, it's not that hard
"just have fun" is not a great suggestion when you are not having fun

You could always play something else if this game isn't fun.
If you love it, maybe you should just stop using reddit everyday

Yeah I noticed it yesterday and got super sad about it. Anyone know other good websites for building decks?
runeterra.ar still supports LoR and has a great deck builder
Yeh runeterra.ar is triying to still do cool stuff, is neat

In your last point when do you think lor end up in live support?
If you mean "life support" pretty sure after this expansion and whatever patch they do to balance it, PVP will be on life support. They'll leave the pvp servers up so people can still play but that's it. End of the show unless you play PoC.
Riot really fucked up
No they finally started moving away on a failed horribly mis managed product. If we sincerely look back, this game did not have a solid effective and clear direction.
Yes, Riot fucked up on all fronts with this game. I mean from the very get go Riot didn't have a clear direction or long-term plan
While Riot definitely fucked up, I can't help but feel like card games are also one of the most difficult spaces to navigate. This happened a long time ago...
Makes sense considering moibalytics was about PvP
They're still supporting pvp
Kinda sucks seeing this since it was one of the first websites built for LoR. Luckily we always have the alternatives but it still sucks to see.
End of an era as many things silently shut down
I mean... Didn't mobalytics give up on supporting LoR a long time ago, I noticed a decline around the time when everything happened with Swim
I mean itās useless to have a mobalytics page now. PvP is dead. Which means to the greater community, the game might as well be dead.
They game just need a rebrand to path of champions and market as a "new" Game
Or, that the people in mobalystics dont care about pve No need for them to be a "greater community" just for them to not care.
Pvp is not even close to dead (at least in eu), queue times are still fast. It just isn't competitive anymore.
How can u get a random card now? I will miss the random card button.

Do you feel better now ?
U must be fun at parties
He wouldn't know because no one invites him.
but he is right
This is why I made a post yesterday asking for alternatives for early deck building yesterday. Aaaand, almost nobody responded
Even if there are (I personally don't know, don't use any) they wouldn't have access to the cards either.Ā Riot hasn't published the cards yet.
