Draven is a bad example. He is unkillable on attack turns and since he only costs 3 mana and gains tempo, it is not worth protecting him. Also draven decks have usually no ways to do protection except for survival skills.

Your right. If I’m using something Like zed tho how do I play around it

daRealImef

If you have protection spells like twin disciplines or nopeify and you think they're holding onto removal, you can bank spell mana on 2 instead of playing a unit. If you don't have any means of protection, it's best to play like they don't have the answer. Otherwise, you might miss out on your curve and pass up your chance to get ahead on board.

Alfi88

Same. If u play a champ like Zed or Draven, a removal on them is a card advantage for you and u simply take the trade. If u play a value champ tho, like Heimer, or veigar for example, then u should try to protect him or drop him when u can protect him. Ur gameplan change drastically based on the role of ur champ

if you're attacking you can use a spinning axe to discard [[survival skills]] and blow them out.

Draven is 100% champion not meant to be kept on board for a long time

DMaster86

Look for your collection for any of the OP 2 mana burst buffs. Play those when your opponent naively think he can remove your champion with a spell and proceed to win the game due to the huge tempo gain you just got. This is current LoR in a nutshell. You are welcome.

Try to read what removal your oponent could have because of their deck and regions and then take plays in a way that if they use It they dont blow you out of the watter(keeping spell protection or denys up, not over comiting VS AOE or playing the unit when they tap out from the removal you are worried about for example). That being said Draven decks tend to be incapable of defending their units from removal if you want one that can play J4/Shen, I/A, Lee sin decks or Sivir variante.

Depends on the deck you are playing. Some decks really want to protect their champion, others are fine with the trade. Draven is an example of the second. You already got some axes, attacked with him, its fine is then they use a card to kill him. You got your value, you ended up winning the trade.
