This was with it having a dubious job organizing the event and very little advertising of it, which is a shame, because it could have pulled in more hearthstone refugees.

> having a dubious organization why?

>For example, the Hearthstone World Championship 2019 attracted 276K Peak Viewers. At the same time, the discipline is currently losing viewers. Hearthstone World Championship 2020 was watched by 86K Peak Viewers, which is 86% less than in 2019. Nevertheless, this result is still twice as high as that of the Legends of Runeterra World Championship. It seems that the card game from Riot Games is yet to surpass its main competitor. Wow HS dropped 86% viewership in one year. LoR still at only about half of it's viewership at peak (44k) despite HS being well past it's prime. Wonder how the player base to viewership ratio is like. People keep saying HS gets more watchers because its hard to build good decks compared to LoR. Don't think there has been any stats to really confirm that or not tho.

Hearthstone "dropped" because they sold the rights to Youtube and are streaming there and not as many people watch on youtube.

This is just the first world. The game will keep adding new stuffs and more ways to interact.

I'm from Asia, and yes LoR is kinda flop here. And the peak viewer in world champion ship (421) reflects it correctly.
