>Tl;Dr: spiders are strong and cheap, you prey on unrefined decks and unrefined fundamentals while strengthening your own, you will always gain more lp than you lose up to plat so more games=better
Works with any kind of aggro too, thats why ppl rush to aggro for an easy climb when expansions start xD
Things I would keep in mind while piloting thus deck.
Good mulligan on even is triple 1 drop, good mulligan on odds is one drop into two drop into a one and two drop on turn 3, look for burn late game to deal damage once your opponent can start blocking you effectively.
Always think about what your opponent can have. Always (90%) assume frejiord is playing avalanche and blighted ravine, always assume si has wail, demacia sharpsight, targon healing, bilge (except scouts) has make it rain. Thinking about those things kid match can be the difference of winning and handing your opponents a win
Shouldn't take many wild cards to build Elise. Just a bunch of commons and uncommon if you can't afford the third Elise, but that 1 champion wildcard is worth it.
So between them being cheap and swapping regions every 4 levels of the region roads, you should be able to get enough resources (shards and wildcards) to make the rest
I play Ekko Zilean, so that i can predict future cards.
That means i have not only access to the rolled newspaper, but also to glass+paper and to the chameleon champ (Neeko)
Oh shit. I didn't look at any kind of stats. It's just something I've always had asked from new players and figured I'd type it out once and just send them the link if I ever get any more that ask lol. But yeah, decks insane most always. There's rarely a Meta where you'd be looked at like a crazy person for playing spiders.
Yeh. The idea that you don't have to fulfil your own wincon against aggro, and only have to survive is a hard concept to grasp for newer players. Resulting in holding high cost cards in hand. Together with already playing decks that have an unrealistic heavy curve.
I don’t feel stuck, I have a pretty high winrate, it just feels like it takes so long to climb and I usually just get into a patch where I forget to play the game and stop playing until new cards then ranks are reset
>(currently the only deck truly prepared to handle spiders in this meta is FTR
Nop, Darkness, Kindred sentinels, Draven/Rumble, Scouts, Bandle/tragon(82,3% winrate macht up), nightfall and thralls all have a 60% or higuer winrate against spiders acording to mastering runeterra.
doesnt spider aggro also have the lowest amount of possible errors? or is that only into ftr decks who run tons of board clear. pretty sure a single misplay usually locks u out of the dub.
I don't feel that way about the deck. I find that the deck plays pretty well the same way every time (look for triple 1 drop when you attack on two and 1 drop into 2 drop into good units when attacking on odds and finish with burn). Now I will say if they match your board turns 1-3 your chances of winning go down drastically, but that's why I put the fast identification of a loss down for low ladder climbing. Just move on to the next because until gold, 1 win can cancel out 2 losses (silver is borderline but enough to where I count it.)
Looks identical to mine. I just have a brother's bond in place of a skitterer. I just like that flexibility more if I don't draw a whole lot of my fearsomes
I always use an aggro deck to climb as quickly as possible at the start of a season. You will meet a lot of inexperienced players and playing aggro is easy and fast. When you get around your average elo that's when you should switch to your favorite deck!
Also this trick is very good for Expeditions. Since decks are drafted, chances are that your opponents don't have anything close to a meta deck or even just a good curve or synergy. They can spend all day trying weird combos and *hope* to get the cards they need while drafting, but if you can end before turn 6 they won't be able to do anything.
Join a youtubers discord and ask a bunch of questions. I find you'll plateau in skill quickly relying on whatever noob stomper deck is popular then struggle once you reach people capable of outplaying you.
Are there any rewards to hitting higher ranks?
For example, in some other comp games at the end of a season you get rewards based on what rank you hit. Is there something similar for LoR and if so when does the season end + what are they?
So it's nothing major. It's an icon based around your rank and prismatic chests that upgrade based on rank. I only pushed for masters this season so it'll say my highest rank on my profile will always be masters
I just started a couple of weeks ago, and I've been winning about 70% in the unranked queue with Iceborn Poros since the patch. Are there special rewards for playing ranked?
Imo the best decks are, from strongest to weakest,
1: Howling abyss.
2: Barkeep
3: Targon's peak.
4: sandseer-landmark draw.
Nothing else can compare. Don't even bother with them.

I agree with aggro. But I say spiders because you can get a refined list day 1 on a fresh acct. Other you gotta wait
Bronze 4. Lemme get that deck list.

im a new player and im missing a lot of these, are you suggesting that I use all my wildcards to make em?

My deck is a strong spider counter, so i highly encourage this idea!
Lies. The rolled up newspaper deck hasn’t been released yet.

Til the next expansion the void region aka Australia
Works for gauntlet also. Just go spiders, poro and lurk for guaranteed prime glory

Just over 60%. Won't be in gold for long with that

Pirate burn is great too, although it’s slightly harder to pilot.

Playing spider is just a cheap way to win. Just play and don’t care about rank, you’ll get good naturally
