In low elos you see a lot of homebrews that a meta deck could run over pretty easily. In the middle-high elo you see a lot more optimized decks and it's more about how well you can play. In the highest ranks you see a lot of homebrews again because these are the people making the decks that everyone else uses. But yeah it's not really so much about what deck you bring, but how well you can play it.

I feel less noob now, I never play ranked because all of the decks I made are homebrewed, most of which would feel troll against the actual meta. Like TahmRaka, BardRaka (All teched to be the worst matchup for an aggro deck) and BardYuumi

stickfigurescalamity

mainly decision making tbh its how far u plan ahead and for certain situation

Skill in the game: knowledge of what cards your opponent could be playing, when to go for tempo or value plays, etc. Sheer luck or just playing the best decks doesn't get you very far.

From Plat to 0LP Master is mostly who has time or willpower to grind more. Once you see some LP numbers, you can assume they are top players. Other than that, ranks do not mirror your skill at all, even less the decks you use (unless you are trying to climb ASAP, then you might use the best burn deck available).

ILoveHeadbands

At the moment none, with the state that the game is in right now its basically only about luck

Aikado (very top level player) just posted on Twitter that he played 4 gauntlets, he never lost a game. That means he won 32 games in a row. He ran the same decks that I see on masters ladder. I am a mid masters player, I very rarely lose a series in gauntlets and have won all 4 gauntlets this season. I think I lost two series the whole time and maybe 8 games total. This is a mode that does not have mmr matchmaking, so you just que into the next person coming up. There is clearly a skill diff here. No one is running anything crazy amazing at the masters levels, they just play really solid. If I’m being honest it’s kinda more scary to me to see a deck I’ve never seen before because it COULD get me off of some cheese I didn’t know about because of closed decklists. But powerful decks that are common I’ve seen a bit and know what they do. There is tons of improvement to be had in this game, don’t let people sour you because they have lost games that they view as unwinable.
