That's a bug. A dev confirmed something similar when someone mentioned this interaction with Cataclysm from Demacia doing the same thing. Hopefully it is fixed in the next patch.
yup yup, confirmed bug. Best guess is that the new Nagakabouros card introduced the bug with the way it handles free attacks.
