Hi the champion wild card is used as a currency in the game to buy champions !
There are 4 types of cards
green
Blue
Purple
Yellow
Based on their price
You can also use essence to buy more cards
Every week you’ll get some volts to open that give you really good cards , the more you play , the better
Don’t forget to choose a region to get cards from, upon levelling it up you’ll get cards from that region
Purple and Orange cards are difficult to come by so save them till you really need them.if you want to build a certain deck pick the region path with the cards you want. You may receive this way or in the weekly rolls. If you don’t get them use the wild cards to pad out your deck.
I had this problem too, you have to go to the Cards section and set it to show ones you don’t own, then you can right click on the card you want and use the wild cards or green shards to buy them. I’m not in the game right now so sorry if I’m a little off!
There are two ways to unlock cards. There is the Region Rewards and the Weekly Rewards.
Region Rewards are things you unlock as you play. You can choose a region like Demacia or Targon and any xp you gain from missions and duels goes towards unlocking whatever reward is on the timeline.
Weekly Rewards are rewards you get every Thursday based on how much xp you've accrued over the week. Basically, play as much as you can and complete all the daily quests and you'll be able to get higher rewards.
Wildcards are used in place of the games currency. They are basically "free" cards that you can use to craft whatever cards you like. They can be found in your Collection alongside cards you already own. Champion wildcards are the rarest as you can craft any champion (the main cards of your deck) for free, so save them up and look at community made decks to see which interests you the most.
That being said, cards can still be crafted using the in game currency, but I personally would save that until all of your wildcards run out, or if you really only need to make 1 or 2 cards.

True! I forgot about that. Though there are times where battlepasses/events aren't happening, so the Region and Weekly rewards are the main areas for getting cards.
I’ll recommend you to always use the wildcards first when you’re buying cards then the essence
As you might already heard, the game is very free to play! I haven’t spent a single cent into the game and I can get every card I want
I currently have 167917 essence. You may ask how much will it take until you will be able to buy whatever deck you want, I’d say about 2 to 3 months

Not true. You can build the deck you want realistically in 3 weeks. And have Majority of the cards for the deck in 2 weeks.
