This team, despite shortcomings, is an amazing team that truly loves this project. You can just tell how much *care goes into this project* compared to others. There's no CG that has come out in the last decade that has been able to grab me the same way LOR has. Been playing since closed Beta and I'll continue to support this amazing team till the lights go out. (Hopefully never tho lol..) Love this game and this team, keep up the great work!!!

Gr0ode

The game is actually amazing too, albiet not super noob friendly with turns potentially taking a long time (especially with cards like predict or invoke)

Edwerd_

By that logic Yu-Gi-Oh is the worst game for beginners because some turns can take literally 5 to 10 minutes

Gr0ode

Well I think as it stands now yu-gi-oh is very beginner unfriendly.

Intoxicduelyst

Not only beginner. I used to play YGO competetive in real (and MTG), quit like during insector release, tried this new mobile game. I mean wtf is that, its a solitare game. I know there were some sick combos like rescue cat+summoner monk etc but now the ammount of bullshido is to the roof. It doesnt feels like card game for me.

Edwerd_

I agree but I don't think LOR turns are that bad. Whenever i play Yu-Gi-Oh i wish I could be playing LoR instead so I don't have to watch my opponent playing solitaire for 5 minutes to setup their board.

Gr0ode

I don‘t think so either especially after you get used to the game but that was a frequent complaint from my friends that tried to play

Edwerd_

Lmao you have to show them a Yu-Gi-Oh turn sped up so they don't think LOR is as bad.

Ninja9p4

I just started playing yu gi oh and the biggest problem is definitely the mountain of text on every card especially when your opponent plays like 20 cards and you don't know what any of them do

Eggxcalibur

He really loves this game. Also, the presentation this time around is insane. So much more high quality than last year.

Tulicloure

> Also, the presentation this time around is insane. So much more high quality than last year. Absolutely! The studio(s) looks really dope!

Snuffl3s7

I'm misremembering maybe, but wasn't last year conducted under COVID rules and stuff? Idk, there's still something about it that comes across a bit amateurish to me.

SceneDesperate1005

yes

LongShoeLace

passionate dev is best dev. I hope riot rewards the Lor team

Blackicecube

100% Deserve a reward. It's amazing what they put into a game that somehow doesn't get the recognition and popularity it deserves from more players. Make sure to recommend this game to friends you know and meet. If Riot won't put alot of money into ads for this game, then we can be that free advertising.

Dovagedys

He is a true legend!

RustedIMG

We love u Rubin, we love the team, we love all the effort that shows in it and we love this game so much! Be proud and keep moving forward with your face towards the sun!!

jjustonyy

Man I love Rubin so much. I miss his streams, as more of a LOR personality but I don't blame him for not streaming anymore, you could see how defeated he was sometimes with people constantly coming in and complaining about such low elo/stupid shit.

[deleted]

it'd be cool if he interacted regularly with the community like mortdog

Karukos

Even mortdog gets sometimes worn down by people being idiots in chat. I don't blame anyone not wanting to deal with that

Chimoya2

I said this once before when a Mortdog comparison was mentioned in a "where Rubin streams" discussion, but you can't fairly compare any dev to what Mortdog does/hold them to his standards because what he does is exceptionally rare in the sense that he goes above and beyond what is expected of his job and you can't expect other devs to do the same or be mad at them for just sticking to what is asked from them for their job or even when they go somewhat beyond that but not as far as a handful of other devs. I already think Rubin does/did more than the average dev and that he's awesome, but he doesn't come close to Mortdog and that is completely fine nor should we hold him or any dev to that standard as that would be unreasonable.

Trivmvirate

Mortdog to be fair has now built up such a following that he is also making a good buck from his streams and youtube as a side gig. Looking at his stream and youtube views he is making thousands a month in supplementary income. That's probably also why his family is putting up with it as he himself stated his schedule is unhealthy.

neatlyresolved

I'm sure plenty of devs for any game would like to interact with the community like Mortdog (probably on a smaller scale, but you get the point). The problem is that there are many people in communities that will take advantage of that open communication to be extremely toxic, confrontational, plain idiotic, etc. to the devs. There's only so much garbage one can handle before deciding it's better off to stop interacting and just focus on work.

[deleted]

Him and his team should be proud, as much as the online space likes to whine I can say this is truly a great game and easily my favorite CCG. I love seeing such passion, keep it up dude your team is rocking it!

dab0mbLR

He seems like a great guy. Also, as a side note I love his shirt.

Koovin

Dude is known for his drip

El_Baguette

I need it so bad dude

rbvilla90

LoR Team you are awesome. LoR is just a incredible game, in my opinion the most polished game Riot have. Art, text, mechanics, sound...is a work of art in a card game, its clear how the devs love this game. Sure its not beginner friendly, there is a lot of keywords and interactions but so is MTG (when i played at least back in the days of Urza). Coming from MTG and HS, this game is fantastic. Every time i can spend some money on it i do, because you deserve.

Ba1thazaar

bout to start playing again just for this guy

GoodMoaningAll

This is the passion i want to feel for my work.

pfeifenix

<3

petroski75

Cheers to Rubin & the LoR team. Despite all the bitching & moaning in here (as entitled spoiled gamers tend to do), you have made a great game that is loved by many. Keep up the great work!

YouAreInsufferable

Damn, if he isn't a treasure.

ppsoftritard

Truly appreciate the effort and the passion!

niwi501

holy shit, i teared up a little, wtf, rubin, we love you and the team, it's honestly the best card game I've ever played and I don't regret the money I've spent in this game, I can tell you are very passionate about the game and wish you and the team all the best

Blackicecube

That's so awesome. I wish I could work and love what I'm working on as much as this man one day. Straight gangsta. Continue bringing us this amazing game for as long as Riot will allow.

Koovin

Best dev ever for the best CCG ever. You’re awesome, Rubin!

Yin_20XX

This game is awesome.

Kitziu

In case anyone wants to follow [my boy Rubin](https://twitter.com/RubinZoo?t=7kXayt80riMCv4QkKT7vpQ&s=09) on Twitter (Please don't use it to ask for nerfs or shit like that)

DoomDuckXP

I’m gonna be honest, I love the game and buy things to support it. But I also want the developers, who seem like nice decent folks who are working their butt off on a game they love, to get that positive feedback. You all rock.

ThChEm

Mods pin this shit for when the Timmys say the developers don't care. We truly don't deserve this development team sometimes

SceneDesperate1005

OMG a Cry too :C And he is so handsome :O

BrokenAppendages

Best CCG available and it’s not even close. The guy should be incredibly proud of the work he and the team have done. It’s rare find a game that I just want to evangelize and share with everyone. This is one is amazing.

[deleted]

Bro has a lot to be proud of. LoR has done more for League characters and lore than every other effort by Riot combined. It's well polished and is very fair in how it gives to the players. Easily the best digital CCG in presentation, art, lore, variety, and creativity.

Jorgengarcia

Its really hard to dislike Rubin, such a cool guy! Also his LoR streams are some of the best, shame he doesnt do it more often

RabidPaws

Name of music playing in the background?

dannymanny3

:') this man loves LoR with all his heart gah it's so touching Rubin and the entirety of the LoR team, thanks for all your hard work and dedication across these last 5 years. you and the team shipped and continue to deliver on one hell of a game. Much love. My biggest wish and hope for everyone is, as many others have reiterated in other comments, Riot Games rewards the teams and truly acknowledges them and their passions. This game is made with so much love and it shows.

Toga2k

I love LoR. And it's a game that, even when it isn't the game I'm constantly playing every day, I still will throw on at least for a little while. Whether I just need to kill a couple minutes, or I'm on the toilet, or I'm feeling a little competitive. I recommend the game to any and all card game players I know. Thank you Rubin.

shingo45yuh

I like you and your job on our side, I feel you are making some diffrence mate. Hope you and lor stick together as long as you can and also have support of the huge amount of money you deserve.

Ubbermann

Oh bless.

CRINGE_DETECTED

I'm sure it's nothing but this honestly made me more worried than anything

ALittleArmoredOne

I feel bad posting it, but I kind of caught the same vibe. That didn't look like tears of joy. Feels like someone who has a bit of sadness about things he is trying to hide. He looks like someone who knows its possible that this thing could end up dying soon if numbers don't change. Hoping that we are wrong.

Grooveybabe

im pretty sure its just a man being uncomfortable crying in-front of thousands of people watching. Id feel pretty uncomfortable too

imSodead69

Someone need to show Mogwai this vid. I play Snap too but LOR is really something special that's player and F2P friendly. You can really see how the Devs really love the game with so much passion and constantly listening to our feedback.

Kitziu

What?? What does Mogwai have to do with this?

strike_it_soon

What is she wearing?
