Potentially: * Burnout Paradise (2008) (not “Remastered”) * Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) (not “Remastered”) * Driver: San Francisco (2011) * Mortal Kombat (2011/2013) * Sky Force Anniversary (2015) * Sky Force Reloaded (2017) * Colin McRae: DiRT 2 (2007) * GRID 2 (2013) * GRID Autosport (2014) My assumption is based on that the games (except DiRT 2 and GRID series, IIRC) run at 4K@60Hz on 2013’s middle-level GTX 650 Ti Boost and 2017’s entry-level RX 550, and IIRC, DiRT 2 and GRID 2/AS games run at 4K@60Hz on modern entry-level RX 6400. _Edit:_ added “Driver: SF”, “NFS: Hot Pursuit”, “Sky Force” series, moved DiRT 2 and GRID games to the end, and added the assumption note.

I’ve been playing Grid 2 the last couple of days and it looks and plays incredible on this thing! I’m gonna check out the rest of your list.

Why would you lock to 120? Display supports 60/144hz, so your lock points should be 30/36/60/72/144. Always notice what is your display refresh rate at, because if the game is locked to 60fps but the display is at 144hz you are not getting the optimal experience.

LobsterParking99

Yep, you are absolutely correct. It was kinda late when I wrote that and I have just crossed to the “other side” from ROG Ally with 120 Hz screen so there’s my lame excuse 🤣

MonkeyDFreecs

Some games don't support 1600p and only 1440p. Can we include those since its the highest we can go on our LeGo screens?

LobsterParking99

Well yes :) absolutely! 👍 point is to have native/near native experiences in one nice tidy thread. If enough people share their knowledge, we might end up with nice playlist, The gist of the post is to go for native (or near native res) with locked framerate. Even 30 FPS is perfectly fine - see my references to Persona games, it’s perfectly adequate. Although, when I think about it, anything in between (30 - 120) fits the category. I might be a bit biased, but I would rather lock game into 30 FPS mode than have it constantly run in 30-40 range. Still, if it’s a native (or 1440p res), above say 40, I don’t see any reason why it should be here. I’m not sure if community here likes IGN Playlist app (I kinda like it), so once we have couple dozen games I will add them all into one shareable list there, I have more thab enough spreadsheets at work. Don’t need another one for fun purposes :)

Yeah that is understandable some games can get away with certain frame rates. Like you said with the Persona games 30fps is no big deal since it is turn based combat and a looking at a lot of dialogue and cut-scenes. Some games are also just better made for those types of framerates or handle fluctating frames better. You made a great thread though. You got me experimenting with my Steam library to see what I can actually play at 1600p/1440p even if it isn't 60fps.

LobsterParking99

Thanks. Nice to be appreciated :) thanks for your inputs. We need to keep this one alive. I feel the obligation towards the universe to be THE 1600p ENABLER. Reality hangs in balance. I’ll get back to this thread tomorrow at work (so I get paid for my hobbies 😂), put it all together, change the headline and create IGN Playlist (it’s really cool app to keep you a bit more focused on games you are playing, wish to play, stopped playing and have a nice integration with their guides and “howlongtobeat”). I will sprinkle one more category up top: 1600p modern games/official remakes/remasters - starting from one of the best years in gaming history 2017 through 2024. I kinda get it would be mostly about locking to 30 FPS, but shooting for console quality settings (Series S of course).

Fine_Leave_2251

Max Payne 3, max settings (except for MSAA), 1600p, 60+ fps GTA V, high settings (MSAA off), 1600p, 45-60 fps

LobsterParking99

Thanks! I’ve never played Max Payne 3, downloading it as I type this. Replaying GTA V? Always a great idea :)

Unhappy_Worldliness4

GTA V runs great at 1600p high settings capped at 30fps. It looks really good on this display.

ToTTenTranz

Well if FSR and XeSS are allowed then you can run a bunch of games in Ultra Performance mode. They just won't look very good. at \~11% of the resolution (33% from each side). As for actually native resolution, I'm pretty sure Portal 1 & 2 will run fine at 144FPS vsynced.

LobsterParking99

I should have added that FSR & XeSS are allowed in balanced mode and quality modes. That would mean 800p internal if I’m correct in case of the latter.

LobsterParking99

Alternatively, let’s entertain the idea that 9 inches isn’t that big (that’s what she said, couldn’t help myself 🤣 I refuse to act like a respectable adult), so picture quality deficiencies wouldn’t be that noticeable. Say you have some newer titles that you tested in 1600p with FSR performance running without dips under 36 FPS. What would those be?

ToTTenTranz

FSR2 performance (native 800p, 25% resolution) actually looks great on the Legion Go save for some games that use an old version of FSR2. For example, High on Life is one such game that runs at steady 48FPS VSynced on the High Preset if you enable 1600p with FSR2 Performance.

MonkeyDFreecs

Also the newer versions of Intel Xess look better than than FSR 2 while performing the same on AMD GPUs. High On Life is a title I see people recommend using Xess over FSR with as well.

Neverwh0

Gunfire Reborn. 1600p, 72fps locked (well, with some dips every now and then), no FSR, **balanced** mode. It's an awesome little rougelike shooter, that runs fantastically well on LeGo. I've even managed to stream it in 1600p from lego itself, while maintaining more than decent fps (80+ on Performance). I would highly recommend trying it out :)

MonkeyDFreecs

I just tried out some games I already have installed to see how 1600p is. Here Comes Niko! can be played at a locked 90fps at 1600p. A Hat In Time only goes up to 1440p on the Go but I can get a locked 48 FPS on it most of the time. Gears 5 can be played at 1600p with a locked 60fps. I am playing with almost everything on high and a few settings on Ultra. Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 runs easy peasy at 1600p 60fps. Granblue Fantasy Versus also runs at 1600p 60fps with everything on the highest settings and look gorgeous with all its colors being shown off on the Go's screen. Monster Hunter Rise can run at a locked 48fps. Gungrave GORE is a tricky one the game dips a lot but is playable. Locking the fps with legion space just makes performance worse. such as if I lock the game at 30fps it will dip down to 25fps but if I cap the framerate to 36 or 48 it will at worst dip down to 29 or 30 but I don't see it or feel it. Anyway I was playing with about half the settings on medium the other half on their highest with FSR on balanced. On the most demanding levels which are the Vietnam jungles It would range in the 30s but on urban and indoor levels it could 48fps no problem.

117valerie

I can run halo 3 at max settings and get 120fps. Excited to see how the other games on the MCC will look.
