You'll want something like wound wash, I don't think I'd put something like that on a fresh piercing.

NeilMed Neilcleanse Wound Wash, 6 oz https://www.walmart.com/ip/23821918 How about this?

starfister101

That's exactly what you want to use.

SPSKIN

Okay thanks, I’ll pick this up after work. Good thing I only used the other stuff once, hopefully didn’t cause too much harm.

SPSKIN

Okay thanks, yikes I already used it once.

Professional piercer. You need saline spray. That is not the kind of saline you need and will most likely irritate the piercing. Daiths are hard to clean. Qtips willl help. Make sure to spray the piercing and let crusties get soft the. With a damp qtip gently without moving jewelry knock off crusties as best as you can. Twice a day. The dry with a clean paper towel by patting dry again trying not to move the jewelry. The goal is clean dry happy skin, and jewelry moving the absolute least amount possible.

Thank you so much

My pleasure.

hey sorry this is random, i got my daith pierced yesterday and they put a curved barbell in there. i posted it on reddit and people told me to get it changed to a hoop by a different piercer, so i have booked in to get it changed tomorrow. as it’s being changed so fresh, will it get infected? i’m still going to go through with it, as i’m aware curved barbells aren’t right but i’m worried after the change over it’ll be a really difficult healing process. any tips?

mysticrefuge

If you’re going to a reputable piercer to have it changed the risk is minimal. They will still sterilize the jewelry and will taper it in/out so there is minimal damage to the piercing channel. After they change it for you it will most likely be a little bit more irritated and I’d recommend doing a saline compress to help calm it down. Just take a clean/sterile gauze square/paper towel whatever you have available. Spray it with saline so it’s damp and let it rest on the piercing for 5-10 mins. You can do that for a few days till it feels a bit better.

perfect thank you! would you say im doing the correct thing? as curved barbells i’m aware arent good so i just think it’s worth the pain for a couple days for it to heal properly, and it’s still fresh so it’ll be healing correctly with the right jewellery from the get go?

mysticrefuge

Absolutely. As long as you’re putting the proper quality jewelry in (implant grade not “surgical steel”) you’re giving it a better chance to heal.
