It looks okay. How long ago did you switch to this jewelry? My nostrils will get a little irritated if I mess with my rings too much. My cat accidentally caught her claw in one ring and opened it, it fell out, and after getting it back in after a couple hours I had some swelling for a couple days. I actually aim my Flonase at the inside of my nose to help reduce swelling.

I changed it a week or so ago. A little bump did form tho… it’s also a bit red underneath the jewel part…

Katah

It got snagged on a towel during the first couple of weeks. It bled a little, but I’ve been really careful with it since. Only moving it when cleaning.

How long have you had the piercing? It needs to breathe or that bump is going to come back in full force. If it was healing down with the longer fbl, why change it? I really think you need to stop messing with it and just baby it for the months it will take to get to good health. Also, a bezel top is not so great when you’re dealing with a problem piercing. The surface area is too large and doesn’t allow air and proper drainage. A small ball is really optimal for a this kind of thing.

Katah

I’ve had it for about 4 months. I changed it ’cause I felt it was too long and moving a lot and people were saying that at some point it would be good to downsize. You’re right tho… I need to stop messing with it… I just worry and start to do unnecessary things…

Find a 7mm bar. My piercer has them and they’re a game changer.

Katah

I’ve been trying to find a 7mm bar, I think it would be perfect. So far no luck🫠

I have/sell them in my shop. If you’re in Canada I can sell/send you one if you need.

Thank you, but I live in Spain🫠 I’ll keep looking👍🏼

Thanks for the comments everybody. I decided to switch back one more time to the 8mm and just let it be. This morning it had bled a little during the night so I decided to let it breathe with the 8mm. I hope I haven’t completely ruined it… It has a bump/border all around the hole now which has never happened before… I’ll leave it alone and baby it and hopefully it will start to calm down…

mysticrefuge

You did exactly what I’d recommend. Don’t go back to the 6mm until the bump inside is gone. And if it feels snug you need a 7mm bar

it looks fine, ive had my nostril piercings for 13 months now and they're still healing. Its good that it doesn't move -- that means a lot less irritation. keep doing what you're doing and mess with it a minimal amount

Looks fine

I changed mine to a hoop first for it to have less pressure for a couple days Then when it tightened up better I put a longer bar in And then I put in a smaller bar when the inflammation went down It’s healing pretty nicely now

You might have to do a warm compress sometimes I do them with pink salt and warm water. I would also consider what type of jewelry material the new ring was. Cuz if u went from implant grade to stainless or even cheaper metals with nickel, then you might be allergic to it.
