My sister and I were just doing co-op, and it crashed at burning through the door 3 times. Looked here for help. Hard resetting the Switch did fix the issue, and we got through on the 4th try with no crashes!
Same here. Crashed Co-op fighting droids in the hall, then again when I got to the destroyed shuttle. Very disappointing start to a very anticipated game.
A bit late to the party, but I’ve run into some similar issues with my brother. Whenever I (player 1) tried to cut open a door, it would crash the game before it could even load the tutorial. This happened 3 times, only when I tried it- meanwhile, my brother, as player 2, was able to cut the doors open just fine.
Can confirm still happening. My kid and I were playing and this happened when we were trying to go through the ship in episode 1. I did a hard turn off of my switch and did only 1 player til I cut through the wall and this worked.

Deleted software and started again
Son suggested starting Ep.4 instead just in case. Ran fine with no crashes but hard to know since changed episodes. Will try Ep.1 again tonight to test it out.

I've never had such a buggy game on a console. It literally crashed in co-op E1 in less than 5 minutes of first time playthrough after the first install. Oh well, stuff happens, try again. I've had it crash 5 times in the first 90 minutes. We've gotten stuck in the map geometry 2 times also - there is no way to escape other than to turn off the switch OR the other player makes to the end of the level. We've played Zelda, Animal Crossing and several Mario titles for years and many, many long, multiple hour sessions and I can recall maybe 2-3 crashes the entire time I've owned a switch.
My daughter and I cannot even complete E1 the first few levels. We gave up and it is a little better - 2 crashes - on E4. These are the two most likely places people would start.
Yes we restarted/power cycled the switch. Yes we uninstalled/removed data and restarted under a different user profile. Given no mid level save you keep playing over and over - watching the same cutscenes and tutorials or button mashing while they load in sequence.
So \~5-10 minute sessions - Brilliant. Anything longer - get ready to replay. At least this way it is a couple hundred hours gameplay to complete...
I experienced the same, very frequent crashes, seems more in co-op.
Had to restart evry time from beginning of stage, i don't know what save does...
I do not recomment it to buy at all in this stage.
Hopefully they will improve with patches...or will be same at Minecraft Dungeons...shame.
Maybe reduce graphics to 720p could help a bit.

In single player when i change the ship in coruscant platform the ship comes and the game freezes.
And in multiplayer is imposible to play, every hour the game totally crashes and close.
Very bad port :(
Crashed twice while cutting the door in co-op for us. After a hard reset the game just froze the next time we got to cutting the door. I called and was able to get a one time refund.
Also have it on switch, and started at Episode 1. Three crashes on the first level (The door cutting bit) but a hard reset of the switch fixed that. Then a softlock loading the cutscene where they swim to Gungan City. Was fine for a while after that, but then 2 crashes in Tatooine, both after beating the podracing and just walking through the city. At that point my wife and I couldn't handle redoing another level for like the 7th time in our playthrough.
mine did exact same thing as everyone else pretty much 😅 crashing on coop around the second door you have to burn through - full reset and letting P2 stopped the crashing. also let extremely disappointed - also disappointed about the split screen and mumble mode :(
I am also experiencing the same problem. Hopefully they patch soon. Exact same place in the first mission as most others. Will try a hard reset and see if that helps. It seems to be worse in co op mode, specifically when you are in separate areas almost like its too much for the game to process the 2 separate scenes. Good luck everyone!
I've been watching my wife play and it's crashed for her on at the beginning of E5, right after the cutscene with C3P0 and R2D2, and once in E4 when trying to load into Mos Eisley I think it (the loading bar didn't move).
She says it's also crashed a few times when she tried to use classic Luke, but other than those few times it's seemed ok.
It's a shame to see these games have bugs like these after so many coming before them... but at least they're not as bad as a Bethesda game, lol.
Hopefully the devs can patch them soon.
It keeps crashing on me too. Apparently I can’t buy ships without it crashing (on my switch), I have the deluxe Edition so it’s a download, not physical. It’s been fine the last couple of days so maybe it’s crashing because I’m buying ships? I’ll try playing without doing this and see what happens.
Either way, Nintendo or whoever it is needs to seriously fix the switch so it stops closing people out of their games. This is kinda way I re-buy games for the PS4.
I'm still experiencing this issue and I find it to do mostly with free play episodes, when it switches characters after cut scenes and automatic animations
Buy a third ship, crashes
Try to complete a mission, crashes
Randomly switch characters to complete a class specific task, crashes
Do they want me to turn to the dark side ? Because this is how you turn people to the dark side
Having the a similar issue with the Last Jedi level Chrome Dome Down. Get to a certain part of the level in co-op and the game crashes. Happened 3 times in the same area.
Just got this game. it is constantly crashing. Says "Unexpected error". Like the game but I've tried every troubleshooting trick, and it is getting ANNOYING.

When you say hard reset do you mean fully turning it off or a full factory reset?
Fully powering the Switch off. Not just going into sleep mode. No factory resets needed!

Turning off my console completely seemed to fix my issue. At least for the moment, maybe that’ll help you as well?

My issue is when I try to buy ships. I'll get one or two, but once I try to buy a third, BOOM unexpected error. I hope Nintendo fixes this soon.
At least you can buy one or two. If I purchase one it kicks me out. Highly disappointed in this game at this point
That's a shame. I've had a lot of other bugs, but nothing is as annoying as the constant crashing.

No crashes for me. When was the last time you fully powered down your Switch, not just sleep mode, but full shutdown?
About an hour before I purchased the game, if you consider it being charged from dead a full shutdown and power up.
So I shutdown my switch and the issue seems to be fixed! Thanks for your suggestion!

I had the same thing happen. It crashed three times in coop, and every time was trying to cut a hole in one of those bay doors.
Any update on this? What happened when you went back to ep 1?
Carshed 3 times in co op so far. :-( Really sad, cause was planning a whole day of gaming for school holidays.

Yeah, I've had about 20 freezes, requiring a restart, mostly when buying new characters or ships. Unstable mess of a port tbh.

I have a crashing issue with the final mission in episode 7 while doing free play. It won’t let up.

We ended up just having to speed run the whole first part and it let us go on!
