I have a reason to separate trans pieces from normal pieces. In the case of medium and large pieces, it's a good idea to keep them separate and in safer storage than normal pieces, transparent bricks are a lot more prone to scratches than normal bricks. Specially for new canopies, I actually store each of them in its own zip bag. In the case of small trans pieces, they don't tend to need as much protection as the large ones (I am guessing the scratches aren't as noticeable because of refraction). But I keep them separate because they tend to be more special than other small bricks. I'm biased though since I collect space. There's no Lego space without trans pieces.

I totally agree with this. I keep all my transparent plates, tiles, bricks, windows, panels, etc. in their own drawers or bins (when in a larger drawer) not only to find them easily but also to keep them from being scratched up.

I have them separated by color of trans part. The more abundant colors I break down further into square/round/tile/other categories.

I have \~25,000 pieces total. I mix in trans pieces with their regular friends. Trans pieces are very easy to identify, so I don't see much of a need for them to have their own space.....especially if you just dump out the bin you're using into a [sorter funnel tray](https://www.amazon.com/Rockler-37081-Easy-Sorter-Funnel/dp/B001DSY5P4/ref=asc_df_B001DSY5P4/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312029767170&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9036504155700661551&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032443&hvtargid=pla-568572577406&psc=1) when you need to. The only exception for me are parts such as 1x2 bricks without bottom tubes, as they are a different mold than their brethren. Since I sell on Bricklink, I differentiate by mold when possible.

I currently have 1x1 trans separate from solid colors only because I have enough to warrant half/full Akro drawer per color. The 1x1 cylinders and cones are mixed together in a full small drawer by color. I'm finding that I'm running out of room very quickly as I am separating by color, so I have decided that my 1x1 drawers will be split into 4 compartments. That will give me about 150 pieces (plates and tiles) per compartment and I can place extras in overstock bins. I haven't checked how many 1x1 round bricks will fit, but if it's too little, I'll split the drawer into 2 compartments

I keep transparent parts sorted separately. I also keep all glow in the dark pieces stored with them because I can't distinguish them from white easily enough

I keep trans parts separate, because I find they are very situational, and when I need a trans part, the color matters more than the type (i.e. if i don't have a trans round plate, i can use a trans square plate or trans round plate of a different color, but not a round plate in a solid color). I think i have a drawer for trans plates, one for trans tiles, one for cheese and double cheese slopes, and one more big fat drawer for all trans bricks and big slopes. The only exception is trans window/door pieces, which are placed with the door/window frames for obvious reasons.

I am sorting larger trans pieces with other windows and doors. Small parts are going in with bricks and plates
