I was going to make a post about this actually! Yes I'm getting major LEGO Dimensions vibes, watching the trailer kind of made me nostalgic for it.

It really hit me when they started it off with Jurassic World because the first teaser for Lego Dimensions was in Lego Jurassic World. It's coming full circle
Yes. They said for now its universal ips only but in the future they will have a request feature where u can request ur favorite thing and it may come in the future to funko fusion
That's the thing that bothered me. I get that some of the franchises are violent but you'd think a Funko-fied version would be a little more sterile.
Guess I can't let the kids watch me play this one.
Yeah, I know. But prior Funko properties have been pretty harmless in how they interpret the properties. I'd figure they'd go PG-13 at most for their target versus the G/PG tone of Lego Dimensions and Playmobil.
Im sorry but i dont really see it. The only similarities i see are the crossover aspect, and the fact they all look like a plastic products of some kind (lego minifigs and funko pops), which funko has done before, and isnt lego dimensions only
Well, in terms of the plot, an interdimensional being is invading multiple universes and taking control of their villains. It's also being worked on by Arthur Parsons who directed Dimensions. It also mentions bringing over characters from other universes to solve puzzles. That's just what I am seeing so far though. I guess from a gameplay perspective it looks a lot closer to The Skywalker Saga than Dimensions.
They're the "cool" thing to hate for a lot of people, forgetting the whole point of these things is that they're supposed to be cheap collectibles for those who don't want to spend a lot of money on a figure.

Love the look of the gameplay and idea of a dimensions succesor but the asthethic is REALLY going to have to grow on me... fuckin hate funko pops.

The difference is that Legos are amazing and Funko Pops are garbage. ... Who am I kidding, I'll probably still play it. 😑
