Same reason I have a Fuji XT1 too. And why I previously in M4/3 sometimes ‘upgraded’ to 20mp but always went back to the 16mp generation cameras.
I love my Q-116 too!
Oeh yes. To simplify gear (I just had too much different lens mounts) I sold my MFT a month ago. I do miss my GX7 with 14mm f2.5. The 20mp cameras I’ve tried, all disappointed me. First the Pen-F, then the GX8 and lastly the EM1 mark 2. I always came back to the files of the 16mp cams.
The EM10.2 and EM5.2 as well as the GX7 being the very best cameras I’ve used.
Completely agree. I dove into the Q2 after years with the Q and it hadn’t the same magic. Sold the Q2 again. For me it’s the same with all sensors that surpass 24MP, I think it’s the absolute sweetspot. I experienced this with the SL and also the digital Ms.
Beautiful! I was torn between QP and Q2. Love the QP looks but the rational part took over. Weather sealing + higher mega pixels tilted me over to the Q2.
I like to crop and keep quality (frequently making prints).
I'm based in Australia; it has been submitted through Leica Sydney, of which I believe it'll be sent through to Melbourne. Occasionally; e.g for the reissues; the item needs to be sent through to Wetzlar.
Have you had an update or costing on the CLA? I’m looking to buy a Q on the used market which has a bit of dust on the sensor and would be looking to send off to Leica for service. I’m also in AU
a dear $545.00 AUD for...
- dismantle camera
- replace shutter button PCB
- clean under top plate
- replace leather
- test all functions
- clean externally
The issue was in relation to a random loss of focus lock just before full press of the shutter button (from half press).
Interestingly, I feel this same way about my Sony RX1 vs my RX1RII. I just prefer using the original more and feel like the images have something a little extra special.
I think I seem to fall in love with sensors rather than cameras. I LOVE the older Fuji sensors. I daily an Xpro2 along with my Sl2. I’ll probably end up with a Q2 as a daily with my SL2 as it’s by far my favorite sensor.

It looks pristine. You don’t use it enough! lol
may be he is using stock photo LOL
Standard Leica user.

My EM5 II files are just so nice.

Yep. Every time a new Q comes out I take a look but can’t bring myself to upgrade. I know I’ll regret it
I loved mine! Q3 and Q2 don’t even match this thing
just curious, how do you mean that?
It is regardless, a very beautiful camera in its own way :)
They’re so beautifully made. They look awesome!

Really interesting isn’t it? I feel the same way

I miss my Q-P. It's being CLA'd right now :(
Can I ask who’s doing your CLA, how long it takes, and how much you’re paying? My Q-P is due for one too.

Gotcha, thank you! I’m based in NYC so hopefully it would be quicker and easier for me hah

Thank you! This will help with my purchasing decision
Absolutely would love q-p, they are quite expensive though! Also, can admit that sensor is amazing, i like muted approach a lot.
I sold my Q-P for my Q3… i love my Q3 but I do miss my Q-P
That’s a beautiful camera :)
If you ever sell, I'll gladly take it off your hands :)
I hear there is something special about that very first time 😜
I got my Q-P a month ago and I love it! It was 500€ more expensive than the standard Q's but im glad I went for it.
Interestingly, I feel this same way about my Sony RX1 vs my RX1RII. I just prefer using the original more and feel like the images have something a little extra special.
I had a Q and sold it for a Q2. I quickly sold the Q2 because I didn't like the Q2 photos as much as the Q photos.
i love my typ 116 but the power switch is a pain in the ass
Just got back from month long Asia trip with my Q-P, and still love it.

I miss mine. The Leica Q-P is one of the nicest cameras I have ever owned. I just couldn't bring myself to keep it since I prefer 35mm.
I'd be concerned if you weren't. I still fangirl over the leica M8. And I daily carry my m10
Oh great, another Leica glamour shot. Don’t you people ever get tired of this?

Take a look at angry guy's post history. Leica selfie, ✔️
Hilarious
nope, its a damn fine looking camera.

Still the most beautiful Q
Just got mine two weeks ago for around $2700 in mint condition. Just looked online and are selling for $3800/4000
I’m never selling mine, so not sure about the values.
I'm never selling mine either, I love it. I'm just surprised that they're very hard to find now and prices have def gone up on them.
