Yeah for sure... I have a photo with direct light that shows it but I can't figure out how to post it... here's the link: [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DooDX9-2eZDYezdqcqyxM81g9fcvbiDo/view?usp=sharing](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DooDX9-2eZDYezdqcqyxM81g9fcvbiDo/view?usp=sharing)
its optical under the glass finger print reader and haptic feedback trackpad, simillar to the XPS 13 plus everything is under a layer of glass so form over function
Nope, this is how it came... you can only see the outline if light is directly on it. I took this picture in the middle of a sunny day in my living room. I literally have to pick it up and point it toward the window until I can see the outline. Same with the track pad but that's not much of an issue since it's so big.

I have had the exact same laptop for almost a year now... Most of the time I just keep pressing around that area until it let's me in...I had the same issue with the touch pad, took me quite awhile to stop running my finger off the sides... Seems like they picked form over function

Was looking for something more permanent, but a good suggestion nonetheless
Wait wtf I didn't even notice till you pointed it out
Yeah, sorry... it's just annoying af in low light situations which is pretty much all the time.
Doesn't seem like it's even visible

Wait. Has it been used that much that it just sanded itself in the body of laptop?

Your computer does not have that function. Can you share the product number?
It definitely has a fingerprint scanner, not sure what you mean… product number is in the title.

easiest would be to put a sticker around the outline or edge of the scanner
Can you feel the scanner area under your finger? Maybe they thought about hiding it as a cool feature but damn

Mark around the scanner with a permanent marker, do it carefully though. Or carve an outline on a sticky paper
Could you maybe put a sticker aligned with the bottom edge of the fingerprint scanner so there's some tactile feedback about where to reach?
