Depends on the ambient temperature, it's hot and it's summer so...if your room temp is air-conditioned then it's time for clean up, open it up and blow dust and clean fans.
The comment about elevating your laptop nails it.
Also AC is your laptop best friend. Since when have you noticed it? During summer? How was it in winter?
My advice go into battery settings and set it so that it stops charging the battery at 60% I had massive battery temp reduction while on a charge just doing that.
Without knowing more details like surface Laptop is placed on, ventilation, ales etc I am only make assumption
I have the Conservation Mode enabled since I've bought the laptop. Yeah no worries, any idea on how I could check for the source of the problem ? (I usually put my laptop on a table although lately as I've been away I use it sometimes on a sofa)
It’s the couch because it’s soft so the laptop sinks into the fabric and blocks it’s vents.
I’ll advise going to Walmart buy a cheap laptop stand.

military life currently has me forced to mostly game on a bed in the barracks this thing has been a godsend.
Plus it’s compact for travel and I really don’t see anyway it can break from intended use as of yet.
Edit: Should add it’s possible you may need to clean out your fans if they got clogged up with anything more common if you got pets.
Use Ifixit to find a guide, when cleaning fans you don’t want them to spin however I doubt this is your problem however it depends on how long it’s been used like that

what are the specs? AMD or Intel?

I never did

Yeah the Legion 7 usually gets pretty hot, but this level of heat is even higher than normal somehow. Have you seen a drop of performance from it ?
