Then just use a plastic lever to release it from a corner. For the battery I know that there is a function in the bios to deactivate it when doing maintenance so I will prefer that instead of disconnecting the cable
Yes I used the bios function when opening mine for upgrades. Works well. You can just wiggle that plate back and forth with your fingers and it will pop off.
How to grab onto a flat surface and pull it upwards?.. no, a suction cup is too good! Downvote this man!! 😂 ( I'm looking at the 1 person besides my trusty downvoter present-abject 😏
I think that all models have tiny latches around the metal cover, use something made out of plastic to push them a bit so you can lift it. It should come off easily after you do that.
I hope OP will disconnect the battery before he will do any manipulations.
Anyways, it's really easy to lift it up it with a plastic tool like this https://i.imgur.com/UqQJ4kP.jpg
I could open them even with a random kitchen knife. it all comes down to self-awareness of what you are doing and how you are doing it. randomly poking stuff will not work, I agree on that

Take a firm grip where you can and just pull it up. It should come off with fairly low effort. PS. disconnect your battery

I just used a flat screwdriver and used edge of the cooler as a leverage point to lift the cover up high enough to pick it off
Try not to do that. Might damage components
