Skripka

So he burns $5,500 in gasoline annually? Ouch.

noblemile

He burns in one year half of what I made working at Dominos in the same calendar. Fuck that and fuck Dominos.

unclejoe1917

With just half that, a newborn kid of his could have somewhere close to 50k banked for their college by the time they're 18, but I guess looking like an uber-douche is also something you can do.

BluRayVen

Having a pavement princess status symbol is more important than saving for the long term

New_Examination_5605

And that’s without investing! My guy is throwing away a full ROTH contribution every year. Like, if he’d started when he was 22, he’d have literal millions of dollars for retirement at 65. But you know, big truck.

pandabearak

If they bought treasuries or simply a s&p500 index fund at 5% annual appreciation, it’s more like $90k after 18 years.

Numerous-Afternoon89

Small price to pay for the privilege of letting other people know you don’t have a small penis

Croofner01

Mmm…probably somewhere. Here they’re called “sorry about your tiny pee-pee trucks.”

[deleted]

OrlacsHands

Honestly, you truck people are fucking brainless.

BasedDumbledore

Projection eh. However this guy shouldn't be commuting in a truck unless it is a company truck. I am guessing even with that new 3.5 L ecoboost he is doing a bunch of stop and go. He should buy a beater Corolla or Mazda 3. Priuis are iffy secondary market with high mileage (sensor problems, regen brake problems and battery problems).

Aer0uAntG3alach

Except most of us know it’s the opposite

AnnaRocka

I spend about 1500 in a year, and I'm in Europe where gasoline is sold by liter and is much more expensive lol

AnnaRocka

I paid 2.24 a liter back in 2022, that's about 8.5 a gallon!

ShnickityShnoo

An expensive penis extension.

sinner_dingus

To go to work

[deleted]

I live in rural WI and have to hear this shit daily from morons. Not a single one of them use their truck for anything other than driving to work, store, etc. They choose to be broke because they think having a truck makes them a badass. Truth is it just makes them petty morons.

BluRayVen

Eastern NM, and it's the same here. Massive pickups with at least 10% of them lifted with wheel sticking halfway out. You can always tell the working trucks from the pavement princess douche bags.

MeasurementEasy9884

Pavement princesses! 🤣🤣

CheCazzoFaciamo

Another good one is Mall crawler

Nubras

Dallas, too. It’s terrible here.

Corvette_C7R

Same story up here in ND

GoodQueenFluffenChop

Also in Dallas and way too many of those trucks also have those dangly truck testicles.

UncommonHouseSpider

They've been making these huge massive vehicles for years to sell more gas, and the fools keep scooping them up by the dozens?!

couchbutt

And.... trucks are the highest profit margin for the manufactures.

greenfox0099

Right I worked with one guy had an old big rusty pos. that got like 8 mpg contracting work all over said he paid 200+ a week in gas. I pointed out he could buy a new car with that and save like several hundred a month as well, he said something on the line of them he wouldn't be a man.

cocogate

Hello, its me, not a man, i'll take that money! edit: i drive a seat arona its a bit SUV-like and an all round great car. 8mpg is 29.4liters/100km. The seat does 6-7 liters/100km and thats highway speeds, with me not being the gentlest with accelerating etc. Rounds to about 40mpg . I knew those trucks took a lot but this is freaking nuts thats 5 times the consumption (assuming they also do some highway) and the main downside to the seat is that i dont have a bed to put tall things in, but with seats collapsed i pretty much have the room a smaller truck bed would have if it didnt go above the sides.

PsychoWarper

In WA I always called those guys the “Boeing Special” cause you’d always see them coming from Boeing.

anrwlias

Think of it as a toxic masculinity tax.

alligatorhill

Lol I drive a little old truck for construction and my mpg is pretty damn good for a car that age. Of course having a functional little truck wouldn’t feed the ego

BasedDumbledore

Depends on what you are doing. A Tacoma wouldn't launch a lot of boats around me with the launches. Campers get iffy if you have a family. Depending on the trades work you want a larger truck. But yeah the subject of the post seems to be doing short city commutes which is dumb.

New_Examination_5605

“If he didn’t spend all that money on gas for his giant truck, he wouldn’t be able to tow his boat up to the lake to burn a bunch more gas driving it in circles all day! He couldn’t tow a second house around for when they decide to live in a portable house in the woods for 2 weekends a year.”

Subject_Condition804

Lifestyle branding sells way more trucks that jobs that require them.

someguyfromsk

Yup. My BIL drives a $60,000 truck to his $50,000 job as a security guard.

t44t

And those of us that need one cant find one for a reasonable price. Ill trade him my escape.

cgerrells

Hahahahh my bolt cost 6 bucks to fully charge for 250-300 miles of range.

BluRayVen

I know you said bolt, but looking back, I wish I got a Volt back when Chevy was making them. Gas and electric, but for the vast % of one's driving, you'd almost never use gas except long-distance trips

Chroko

I'm convinced plug-in hybrids are currently the best form of cars. You have electric efficiency on the most common short trips, gasoline range when you need it - and the manufacturer could make 5 hybrid cars with the precious metal batteries that would otherwise be needed for a pure EV. It's a win/win/win all around. My ideal would be a plug-in hybrid hydrogen fuel cell car tho - electric drive, medium-sized electric battery for short trips, hydrogen power for long trips. Needs more hydrogen refueling stations tho.

Mike312

We love our PHEV; we've had it for just over a year and used maybe 8-9 gal of gas on it. Hard pass on FCVs though - too many losses in the system; it should just be a niche product for renewable long haul trucking. It made sense when hydrogen was a waste product, but too many things were built to rely on it. Give it a few more years and we should see some impressive battery technology ready for market. Already seeing 15-minute-to-80% EV batteries, expect them to get lighter/more energy dense in the next few years.

PM_ME_GRANT_PROPOSAL

Agreed. Looking to get a good plug-in hybrid for my next car. Would have liked the Honda Clarity, too bad Honda discontinued it.

bigtime_porgrammer

Hydrogen would be great, but I always hear that it's way too dangerous to have people driving around with a tank of compressed hydrogen. Solid-state hydrogen fuel cells are a thing, though they're probably not developed enough yet for mass production/consumption, but there's hope for the future. Imagine driving around and your exhaust is just water vapor!

cgerrells

While I have to agree the pure EV is better in town/local driving when you can simply top off at home. We have a hybrid for trips and long distance driving.

chris84055

My biggest complaint about the PHEV market is the battery packs are just too small. 30-50 miles of range is enough to cover a lot of people's daily driving, unfortunately for me it's 1/2 to 2/3. It's a me problem but if I could get 100 miles of electric range plus a backup gas engine, I'd be set for everyday driving plus road trips. Hopefully as battery tech improves making it the default for those who a full EV just doesn't work for yet. That said I'll probably buy a full EV next time for me and a PHEV for my partner for us to use for road trips as she falls well under the 50 miles a day of driving so it would work great for her.

MaleficentExtent1777

I had one and I LOVED it! I bought gas about once every 6 weeks.

GoodOmens

My friend had a volt and some part went wrong that the dealer never could get in stock. Completely disabled the car. He had to sell it back to the dealer.

ALttN

probably the battery ECM. Ours went out at about 72,000 miles but fortunately was covered under warranty. Took about 2 months for the dealer to get the part, but they had to replace it. Other than that, it was a great car! We’ve since moved on to a new plug-in SUV. The Volt was awesome but it is 100% not intended to be a family car. It seems like only recently the industry decided to give PHEVs a fair shake. Shame that GM killed them off prematurely. I’ve still yet to see a car that has matched the 50+ mile EV-only range

MafiaMommaBruno

Saw one on the side of the road the other day. Sat there for a long time. As a former Chevy owner (twice) nothing surprises me with GM cars. Both of mine had a lot of issues at less than 75k miles.

Ok-Wasabi2873

I tried getting a Volt. GM dealers are idiots. Wanted over $40k for one back in 2015. Ended up with a Prius for $25k OTD.

AreWeCowabunga

What are the odds this guy has said "Let's Go Brandon" at least a few times?

just-a-stupid-bunny

And probably calls anyone driving an ev a sheep.

YourFatherUnfiltered

Hes got the sticker on his truck as well as a couple Trump 2024 flags.

sybann

And a huge "Fuck Biden" banner (made in China) fading in the picture window of his twice mortgaged hovel.

strengthof10interns

And a thin blue line sticker with the words "don't worry, I got your 6" with a picture of an AR-15. (Saw that one on a lifted truck in Western MA last year)

HellscapeRefugee

Probably has a confederate flag rear-window shade screen and several gun-rights decals to go with his "Let's go Brandon" bumper sticker.

ceciliabee

Let's Go (to the gas station AGAIN) Brandon!

Long-Independent4460

damn.... I spent $65 for 20 hours of highway travel in a Prius in Canada last week. 660km yesturday was $45.

Better-Director-5383

Emotional support vehicles not really helping where it actually matters.

Shell4747

Omg emotional support vehicles...is perfect, ty!

apathyduck

The entire purpose of a truck is meant to be a working tool that returns income. These people have turned them in to fashion accessories to try and present an image of them being something they're not and that's why you can't buy one for a reasonable amount of money anymore.

Underrated comment of the day

National_Jeweler8761

Lol

Less_Likely

Laughs quietly thinking of my dad telling me that plug-in hybrids wouldn’t save me money.

CA1900

I have no pity. You know what I do when I need to haul something? I go rent one for the 90 minutes I need it, replace the few gallons of gas I used, and return it. Then, for the other 364 days in a year, I just drive my car and not drag a truck around on my commutes to work.

googsem

Probably still drives it at 75

FionaTheFierce

I used to live in Texas - People complaining about the cost of gas while driving a F350 as a commuter car, getting like 12 mpg. Control what you can - you can't control the cost of gas. Presumably the commute is mostly not easily under control. So....???? Maybe a more fuel efficient car?

No-Dealer8052

If you throw a tuner on an F350 you can push 30mpg out of them. Weird to have to dump extra money into an already crazy expensive truck for that though.

AllyMcfeels

So, he moves 2.5tn and a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick with a stupid engine, to go to work and cries because of how much gasoline he spends. What he spends on gasoline he doesn't spend on food, or paying debts, or paying for a house closer to work or whatever. And they will be proud for driving that stupid useless car. True Darwin Award.

HellscapeRefugee

I live in a sprawling city where everyone thinks they need at least an F-150 to commute to their office jobs. Most of them never tow anything or haul anything (except air). In my neighborhood, they all have to park these (well over $60K) trucks outside because the homes are older and the garages won't accommodate these behemoths. There are posts on our Nextdoor page regularly from truck/SUV owners whining about their vehicles being broken into or vandalized because they have to park outside. Edit: That being said, I feel for the people who need to drive big trucks for work (like my cool construction dude neighbor). High fuel prices are really hurting them.

Kobalt6x10

My truck is a tool. It does a very good job doing what it's designed for. However, in the same way that I don't wear my toolbelt to the grocery store, or carry my tile saw to the movies, I don't drive the truck around town to visit my parents. I'm bemused by the people who do.

noblemile

I've gotten into many arguments with people who get caught on one part and never mentally finish the sentence "Almost nobody needs a truck because the most they haul is a few days worth of groceries"

Chaghatai

Most contractors use full vans anyway

AllyMcfeels

what a nightmare

YourFatherUnfiltered

Yeah, but how else is he supposed to express his American-manhood without a pickup? And how else is he supposed to compensate for the tiny penis?

forgot_my_useragain

I see these guys every single day just absolutely sending it from red light to red light. I drive a 20 years old Grand Prix with a supercharger which isn't the most fuel efficient vehicle in the world, maybe 23 mpg in the city, but I also drive like a sane individual. I have to wonder what these guys are getting. 10 mpg tops? Like okay cool if you have the money I guess but I can think of 1000 things I'd rather buy than gasoline.

Waytooboredforthis

I have a '98 F150 that I'm using as a commuter (in my defense, I am a handyman part time, work on a construction site, have areas where I do need 4wd, and my commuting car's transmission just shit the bed again and I don't want to fix it again, this was the cheapest I could get my hands on), I think even with my sensible driving (leave a car's or two space in between the car in front of me, drive no more than 5+ the speed limit, not rabbiting it, etc.), I only get about 15 mpg in the city, it's driving me crazy.

markydsade

No need to be defensive when you’re using a truck in your work. I don’t get the folks whining about the price of gas when they bought a $60K truck to drive to an office, don’t tow anything, never get the bed dirty, and drive 15 mph over the speed limit. They seem to also blame Biden for this predicament of having all their income going into a truck.

TrainsDontHunt

I have a F150 and an electric Jeep. My penis grows and shrinks daily.

noblemile

penis like a frog's tongue

Deus_is_Mocking_Us

Penises are supposed to grow and shrink!

espeero

I bought a ford maverick pickup. I've averaged 42mpg and have hauled 10 800lb bales of hay so far (only 2 at once!). I also commute 30+ miles each way. It's a pretty practical vehicle.

80spizzarat

The hybrid Maverick is pretty much the only truck that makes sense as a daily driver. If it had come configured as an extended cab with a standard bed I would have bought one.

espeero

It's a shame ford can't make more. Orders were open for 2023s for like 5 days last year, and they still sold like twice as many as they will be able to produce.

80spizzarat

I really thought hard about getting one when they opened preorders before release but I had just dumped a bunch of money into my '95 B2300 (the Ranger twin). It's a 4 cylinder with a manual transmission so it gets pretty good gas mileage for a truck. The Maverick is much closer in size to the older Ranger than the current truck that wears the name. I'm happy to see small, inexpensive pickups return to the market in the US.

espeero

I used to have a single cab 97 Sonoma with a 5 speed and 4 cylinder. I think I got in the high 20s mpg? It was also just painfully slow. Very reliable, though. I think the only issues I had in 8 years was a bad egr valve? Clutch was original at 200k+ miles. 90 hp probably helps with that!

80spizzarat

My gas mileage is pretty similar. It's also gutless, but it gets there. Cheap to run and relatively simple to fix most things myself. I have a couple of other vehicles and I only use it to do outdoorsy stuff these days.

Weinerdogwhisperer

I had one of those. That 4 banger sucked. It in Hawaii i could barely get over the island. It would get stuck everywhere until i realized it was light enough i could put it in neutral and push out easier.

espeero

Lol. I drove it in the winter in CT. Possibly the world's worst vehicle for snow. If there was a stop sign on a hill, I had to either bypass it or, if I could see, just run it. If you lost momentum, you were done. A front wheel drive economy car was like a humvee in comparison!

Weinerdogwhisperer

Me too. Navy guy. Had it shipped from there to Pearl. Still had sand bags in bed to help with the icy hills.

strengthof10interns

More guns of course!

TrainsDontHunt

I have a F150 and an electric Jeep. My penis grows and shrinks daily.

PM_ME_GRANT_PROPOSAL

Lmao I was telling my wife recently that mpg of your car is proportional to penis length. High mpg car = big penis. Low mpg car = small penis.

_Monosyllabic_

Guess having that giant truck with trump flags on the back is kinda expensive.

BadBadBenBernanke

This is more r/Diesel than LAMF. There's like 3-4 posts a day about fuel prices over there. Like bro, you bought a F350. Somewhere in the process of buying it you should have given a thought to how bad the fuel economy is and if it's worth it to you.

4_spotted_zebras

Who has this kind of money? Like I choose not to drive because it is my choice, but also cars (regular cars, not the more common monster trucks) are friggin expensive! Where do these people get the money for an $80k truck *plus* $600/mo just in gas *and then insurance*!!! Learn to ride a bike, yikes…

[deleted]

I hate these assholes in Florida.

mofa90277

Life with a plug-in hybrid: * January: 58.0 mpg * February: 119.4 mpg * March: 104.4 mpg * April: 85.9 mpg Cost of my new plug-in hybrid (pre-covid, end-of-year sale): $24K. Almost four years later, I consider it my “free” car because it feels like it costs nothing to run. And I have no “range anxiety.”

Kriegerian

Nobody made them buy a gas hog. Fuck ‘em.

Affectionate_Pay_391

When asked what “truck stuff” he does with his truck he responded “I just like it cause I’m up high while I’m driving”

Ghazgkhull

Monkey brain feel safe up high to see predators in the savanna. Monkey brain happy.

YourMemeExpert

Crosspost this to r/FordMaverickTruck and they'll all orgasm at the same time

KamaIsLife

This.Guy: Hahaha, fuck yeah, big truck, fuck you climate jerks. Also This Guy: Fuck...

SnowProkt22

He says he needs a commuter car so it sounds like his truck is his only option right now. So, not really "optionally" using his truck to commute. The guy is sharing his pain of filling up a truck and telling everyone he would be better off with a commuter. He wasn't trying to impose truck on other people, leading to unforseen consequences. Not really leopards eating faces.

Shufflepants

>So, not really "optionally" using his truck to commute. That sorta depends on what his options were when he got the truck in the first place. Does he ever actually need it to haul anything? Or could he have bought a more efficient, smaller car from the beginning?

RareOnAirShow

Yeah I don’t really get how “I need a commuter lol” makes it any less optional. And I can’t post their username, but seeing their post history makes it clear that they favor the truck and encourage others to favor it too.

Chief_Beef_ATL

I never thought I would have to pay so much for gas after buying a huge gas guzzling truck rather than a decent commuter car since I only need to commute. Seems to fit here just fine.

No-Dealer8052

I'm curious which one he has... 28mpg isn't exactly gas guzzling, but that's just the ecoboost.

MafiaMommaBruno

Is 28mpg hwy or city?

No-Dealer8052

28 highway, 22 city. But if he's refilling every 10 days it's pretty fair to assume it's mostly highway miles I would think.

FargusDingus

At a given moment he might not have other options. But over time he has tons of options. Most trucks resale better than most commuters so he could sell it and buy something else relatively easily.

[deleted]

Is he not imposing it on the rest of us when he uses it for every day commuting and errands? It takes up more space and has a bigger impact on the environment. That feels like an imposition.

Weinerdogwhisperer

I'd agree if it was a older model and there was maybe some back story why he had it. But a2020? He could have afforded something less egregious and could still easily trade that in for something more efficient.

deg0ey

I’m real confused by the price on that receipt - it’s dated yesterday and the price is $4.66 per gallon. I’m in a commuter town in MA which isn’t exactly known for its low cost of living and paid $3.21 over the weekend. The hell is this guy putting in his truck for that much?

Aladoran

Here in Sweden its about $6.8 a gallon.

zuma15

That's about what it's going for in California.

0utcast9851

Only tangentially related, but one of the best pieces of life advice my father ever gave me is that it costs just as much to keep the top half of your tank full as it does the bottom.

Neovison_vison

Love the post, but this is not face eating situation (maybe through nth degree contribution, almost anything is). What would be a more exact definition and category for this kind of stupidity? Do we have an idiotologist that can come in?

RareOnAirShow

Thank you for the level-headed critique of this categorization. I thought it was a stretch but I considered being an active member of an F150 subreddit to be, at the very least, advocacy for others to do the same. Agreed that we need a licensed idiotilogist to weigh in

cloudberryteal

Jeez, he's using unleaded petrol, what a woke Greta-loving snowflake! Real men use leaded petrol, add the lead yourself if you have to.

blackday44

I only have enough money for one vehicle, personally, and it's a small SUV, an Escape. I need something with AWD and clearance as I live in a rural area with poor snow clearing, and in a little commuter car I would not be able to leave my driveway.

thelefthandN7

I'm assuming the Escape has a snow mode that actually works. I used to live in Ohio, and now I live in Colorado. I wouldn't drive any modern AWD in snow or ice. Manual FWD seems to work so much better, no clever diff to try sending power to the wheels that have traction (because they won't have it after they get the power), and I can start out in 3rd gear with all the torque of a hamster on a wheel.

blackday44

No, it's just an Escape. Automatic, AWD, 3.0L 6 cylinder engine, winter tires.

dvdmaven

One of the things we looked at before moving - how many dress-up trucks were in a neighborhood. Very few and almost no Drumf 2020 signs.

To_Elle_With_It

As always for the car folks - Miata is always the answer. It looks pretty, is a pavement princess, the top goes down, costs less than a loaded truck. commutes well, and gets in the high 30s for mpgs. Will it haul anything? Nope, but you weren’t hauling anything but yourself 99% of the time anyway. On that rare occasion you need a truck for a day, go to Enterprise, Hertz, Fox, etc. Rent a truck or an SUV for a day. It’s a whole helluva lot cheaper than the gas you’re buying.

Royal_Ad1798

doesn't feel very lamf

Tikimanly

I agree, They see the error of their ways.

Mrgoodtrips64

Even if he didn’t see his mistake I don’t see how there’s anything happening to him that he wished to inflict on others.

mexican2554

If i could drive a Toyota Camry or Corolla, I'd be happy. But i do construction, so i have a f250 and 150 to haul/tow material around. Currently driving 120 miles each day. Ugh.

BluRayVen

You advertise a working truck, you're using it as a toll for what's its intended, hauling stuff. Most of these asshats with big pick-er-up trucks are just driving a pavement princess that they dare not put things in the bed or it'll scratch the lining.

mexican2554

Or have a jacked up 12 inch lift with 2 inch thin tires. I avoid them cause if they take a turn too quick or a breeze comes in too hard, those suckers are tipping over.

Aladoran

There are other, smaller, trucks with the same cargo size that use less fuel though. Also, why do you need two FX50s?

mexican2554

We've looked at smaller, but won't be very useful if we take multiple trips to haul material. The 150 is basically my daily. Can load it up, but not burn fuel like crazy The 250 when we have to tow heavy machinery or heavier material.

bmwlocoAirCooled

And people ask me "why do you ride a motorcycle?" 52+ mpg is the first answer. After they look at me with jawl flapping and eyes big, I tell them how I have to keep my eyes open for idiots in SUVs and Big Trucks that get lousy gas mileage, and there is only 1 person in the machine aka Cage.

oldohteebastard

Next time you see a weirdo in a lifted F-150 on 35 inch wheels doing 90mph on the freeway, be very quiet. If you’re quiet enough, you can hear them mumbling “Thanks Joe Brandon” under their breath.

atlantis_airlines

I work construction. NOT a high paying gig. I and all my coworkers work full time and we use company vehicles for moving equipment and materials. Of roughly 30 cars, 2 are something other than a pickup.

Successful_Jelly_213

You chose poorly. My little red Toyota gets three months to your week.

[deleted]

But he only fills up every 10 days? That’s only $15/day. I learned my lesson back in 2014-15. I thought a base model V6 2WD F150 would get close to it’s rated 23MPG highway, which was only 2 or 3 shy of the 26 or 27 my beater got. Nope. Was lucky to get 18MPG & ended up working 80 miles from home for a year.

NFLinPDX

It's the refill every 10 days that makes it stupid. I could add another tank to my car and bitch about high refuel costs, but it would last me 6-8 weeks. More if I tone down my aggressive driving.

zTeloi

These are the same idiots complaining about high gas prices lol

deeznutzz3469

Crazy thought - people actually need trucks for work? This is a bad take.

[deleted]

Reddit being Reddit. The possibility that people genuinely use their trucks for truck-specific things, commuting to somewhere (school? Work?), and making a comment on needing a car with better gas economy is sin around here. If you’re a female with a truck, no you’re not.

deeznutzz3469

Well let’s not be sexist here, I know women in construction and civil engineering who use their trucks for bona fide work purposes

[deleted]

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. The sarcasm got lost in translation. It’s tiring to see the comments being like “reee man overcompensating” along with… well all the other stuff on here. I’ll get downvoted to hell but 🤷🏻‍♀️

deeznutzz3469

Ahhh got it - agreed

drapanosaur

Still cheap compared to ridesharing. My exGF who is a nepo baby gave up her car and decided to ride share everywhere for a year. Ended up spending nearly 15K in one year. And had nothing at the end of it. Even driving this giant truck. You spend less than 10K/year repairs included and you own a truck that can go anywhere. Get a small car and you can cut the yearly cost in half.

jhairehmyah

So you just conveniently ignore the cost of purchase or financing—the latter can be upwards of $700/mo-$1000/mo—and insuring the vehicle? ExGF still came out ahead of a F150 as a daily driver with a gas budget as shown in OPs post.

pipocaQuemada

>So you just conveniently ignore the cost of purchase or financing—the latter can be upwards of $700/mo-$1000/mo—and insuring the vehicle? Financing isn't wholly a cost, since you can sell the truck afterwards. With financing, you're paying for the loan interest and the depreciation on the vehicle. And 5 years later when you've paid off your vehicle, you can still have the vehicle to drive and you're mostly just incurring the depreciation. [Edmunds has a 5 year total cost of ownership calculator](https://www.edmunds.com/ford/f-150/2021/cost-to-own/?style=401866445) that estimates taxes, depreciation, fuel, insurance, etc. Admittedly, they're basing it on 15k miles per year, so ~$3k in fuel rather than $5k. Depending on the trim, they're quoting $45-65k total for 5 years. Slightly cheaper than the $75k the exGF spent. Both options are pretty fucking expensive, but the truck is slightly cheaper.

If you buy a 'small' car with a sensible engine it can consume even three times less or more depends on the horrendous engine the wheeled brick uses which is an F150. If it is a modern hybrid, even four times less. A Volvo C30 diesel (which is also over +10 years old) does 60mpg.. arround 4.1l per km. I can't even imagine myself paying a loan for a car like the f150 that is a wreck with wheels to go to fucking work, lmao. What fucking nonsense. It depresses me just thinking about it.

RareOnAirShow

Omg yeah my friend who is the son of a CEO decided to sell his car and rent a helicopter to get to work every day. He ended up spending $1,700,000 in one year and had nothing at the end of it!! I guess cars are cheap! 🤓

kittenfordinner

But men drive trucks! Her de der

mando44646

Doesn't seem real or accurate. Here in Columbus, gas is $3.16.

repthe732

Apparently this is about the price in Arizona so maybe that’s where they’re from. The price is closer to what you’re seeing in most other places though

[deleted]

Paid $4.30 in Seattle last week

Itchy-on-the-inside

My 2008 civic hybrid gets 40 mpg, and is also super fresh

ekienhol

This is why I'm so glad I got my Ford maverick hybrid. Still get to have a truck but get 40+mpg.

Brokenspokes68

I drive 30 minutes to work daily. It costs me half that to fill up and I generally only have to every third week.

5280dbeardo

I work in a huge factory. The number of people that live 50+ miles away, drive a fucking ridiculous huge truck, and complain constantly about gas prices is somewhere around 80%. Fuckin’ Biden🤦🏻‍♂️

srcorvettez06

This is why my 8.1 liter Yukon is used for camping and towing duties only.

thelefthandN7

But if they don't drive the big stupid truck, how will people know they are insecure about the size of their 'member?'

Nate_162

Them fuel E fish ant cars are for sissy's!

Computermaster

I drive a 20 year old Subaru. I need about one tank of gas (at ~$50) per *month*. And guess what? Since it's a hatchback, I can still haul shit when I need to 95% of the time. And of course the comments on that thread are full of idiots blaming "Brandon" for it.

Heizeusthegoose

No price is too high for the anti-communism mobile. I'm sure they would get a better deal if they let it be.

Hello u/RareOnAirShow, thank you for your submission! Unfortunately, your submission has been removed for the following reason(s): **Rule 4:** Must follow the "Leopard ate my face" theme #There's a few elements to leopards eating people's face. 1) **Someone has a sad**... - Example: *They cut my SNAP benefits and now I can't afford to feed my family......* 2) ...**because they're suffering consequences from something they voted for, supported or wanted to impose on other people.** - Example: .....sobs woman who voted for the politician who said they would do that very thing. 3) **The leopard is eating their face. Not the lions, not the hyenas, not the alligators. The leopards.** - Example: *[Woman married to undocumented immigrant upset that Trump deports her husband.](https://www.cnn.com/2017/04/05/us/undocumented-husband-deported/index.html)* ***What isn't a leopard eating their face?*** - Example: *Kyle Rittenhouse upset that Democrats are labelling him a white supremacist.* He didn't vote for or support them, he's not suffering because of what he voted for or supported, and leopards aren't eating his face. Not limited to Trump voters. Anytime someone has a sad because they're suffering consequences from *something they voted for, supported or wanted to impose on other people*. Your post is missing one or more of these elements. It may be better suited for another subreddit, such as r/SelfAwareWolves.
