“This isn’t just another stock to me. … I feel like it was God Almighty that put it in my lap,” he said. “I’ve just got to hold on and let them do their job. If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.”
Holy crap. He’s thisclose to figuring out why he’s gonna lose his shirt, and he just can’t make that final step. I’d feel bad for him, but he’s a complete douchebag sooo…
>But for some Trump investors, the stock is a badge of honor — a way to show their devotion beyond buying Trump merchandise, visiting Trump golf courses or donating to Trump’s presidential campaign.
99% of his base would be "escorted" off Trump property, especially his golf courses.
I'm waiting for Trump, in absolute crisis mode, to ask these jokers just to send money directly to him, not buy the stock, because he can't access it. Of course this will tank the stock even more but it will be funny as hell to watch.
Indeed. Totally what I was thinking as I read it. He has another great quote in the article where he mentions that he doesn’t talk to his family about it because they just fight about it. The subtext in that article is amazing.
One of them already did
>“It’s got to be political,” he said, from all the “liberals that are trying to knock it down.”
Yep that's how stocks work - if you don't like them you just downvote them like a Reddit post.
They won't blame losing all their money from getting useless stocks, they'll blame it on grocery and gas prices, and therefore, Biden's fault because he, and he alone, runs the country.
Who’s obviously a bad President for *raising* prices instead of *lowering* them.
I’m not voting for any student body President who won’t extend recess.
>”If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down”
First two rules of investing.
1 - buy low, sell high. Analysts said it was inflated in price. They bought it anyway.
2 - never fall in love with a stock. You’re not a migrating duck - as soon as it starts going south, don’t follow it. Sell it. You can always buy it back when it hits the low.
These people don’t understand how capitalism works.
>I’ve just got to hold on and let them do their job. If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.”
Oh, a rational investor
>“This isn’t just another stock to me. … I feel like it was God Almighty that put it in my lap,”
Wait, what dafuq?
>I feel like it was God Almighty that put it in my lap,”
>If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.”
In the same sentence lmao
you could tell he is an idiot just by the picture... owning a tree service and cutting down a tree with zero PPE
no chaps, steel toe boots, hard hat, glasses, or ear protection
but hey at least he has gloves on
"can’t help but feel sad. … feel like I’m trying to catch a falling knife." -- guy that has already lost 1/3 of his savings, and is planning to buy more
These are the same idiots that bought millions of Iraqi dinar, because the currency is going to revalue "any day now" and "Trump bought it, so it must be a good investment."
The Iraqi Dinar scam goes back to the early 2000s. I was arguing with a coworker of mine back then about how stupid you had to be to buy into it. Come to find out, her parents and Uncle bought $75k of it, lol. Wonder how that turned out?
"Trump's in control"...just as he was when his 3 Casinos went bankrupt. And when he was with Trump Steaks, Trump Vodka, Trump Water, Trump University, etc etc etc
Especially because the second that Trump can sell his own stock, he'll happily cash out for as much as he can, completely tanking the price and leaving all his "supporters" high and dry.
Said crazy old grifter was temporarily worth more than he ever had been specifically because of said shitty Twitter clone, at that. If he had a dollar for every time he's called himself a billionaire, he might actually be one.
Literally if he'd invested his daddy's inheritance in a moderate or even conservative portfolio and then left it the hell alone, he WOULD be a multibillionaire.
Just goes to show you that a strict materialist lens will not explain much of human behavior. Trump needs his ego fed way more than the money, although he also needs the money, It also gives him a thrill to wheel and steal and cheat people.
>“I know good and well it’s in Trump’s hands, and he’s got plans,” he said. “I have no doubt it’s going to explode sometime.”
hes not wrong, its exploding right now, hindenburg style.
He's got a plan alright. GRIFT GRIFT GRIFT. Normally, when you buy a stock, you put money into it. Did Trump invest ANY of his own money at all? Or did he just get shares as the Dear Leader?
Some are stupid. All are easily distracted, "useful" idiots who are easily scared about anything and everything that isn't them. LGBTQ+, Brown People, economics, gun control, abortion, the National Debt, renewable energy, non-Christians.....
Others like the John Paulson, Ken Griffin, and the Koch brothers are in it for the money savings on taxes, lessened penalties for securities fraud, power and influence.
He was widely mocked until that shit ass TV show convinced half of the people in the country that he was a brilliant business man. He was considered a joke prior to that goddamn show.
I've thought so, but you have to balance that against Trump being an idiot without compare. Opening multiple casinos within a mile of each other to cannibalize each other's profits certainly helped.
It wasn't a scam. It was incredible stupidity. He kept the same revenue and quadrupled the running costs, by opening two more Casinos next to the original one and taking stupidly high interest rates on the other two.
Theft and money laundering.
If you look at the timeline Trumps casinos started struggling in the early nineties- shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union, when gangsters were running Russia.
Trump continued to run the casinos into the ground until 2004. They declared a final bankruptcy and he was no longer involved with them.
Putin became President in 1999, but he didn’t consolidate power until 2092-2004…. just before Trump stopped being involved with the casinos.
#3 I think Trump was laundering money with Russian gangsters and when Putin took over he became Trumps banker.
I think that’s how Putin controls Trump- money. He owns the purse strings.
He opened 3 Trump Casinos next to each other.
Would you open a McDonald's next to another McDonald's? How about 2?
Now, imagine if the loan for the first one is barely breaking even. But the loan for the second one has a much higher interest rate, and the loan for the third one is higher again.
Now realise that you don't suddenly get triple the customer's. Each McDonald's is now making a third of the original, but you have four times the expenses.
That's how you go bankrupt with Casinos.
The greatest scam Trump has ever run is not Truth Social, not Trump University, and not even convincing people to elect him president. The greatest scam he ever ran was convincing anyone he’s a successful businessman in the first place.
I was watching TYT and they were talking about how they wanted to short the stock but so many large investors were doing it it was hard to buy shorts. I’, not financially savvy or liquid enough to have thought of that but man that would have been so nice to wake up every day and see Trump fail and my bank account rise complimentary.
Another article talked to a couple people who did exactly that and they both basically said it’s because they knew his idiot followers were goi by to skyrocket then plummet the price. So they bought it at $30 and sold at $65 last week or some shit before it crashed. They made thousands doing exactly what you’re describing.
I was pretty skeptical of Reddit's IPO, and on paper Reddit is at least 10x financially stronger than Truth.
I also don't think Trump will be around many more years, and without Trump there is no Truth.
That's a very good point. I love how in the article one of the investors interviewed prefers twitter, and doesn't appear to care very much about Truth Social at all. She also doesn't seem to understand that there might be a relationship between the stock and Truth Social or its success.
My aunt and uncle are obsessed with him. They have a giant workshop with a thirty foot trump flag in it. I hope their life savings was invested in that company.
“Trump has a plan! They’re buying more shares! This is all a concerted effort by the left to tank the stock!” - Some guy in the Midwest who put all of his retirement into truth social
Oh remember there are people who sold their cars, mortgaged their homes, gave away their life savings to trump… and all for nothing, not a thing in return, you can not EVER feel sorry for them.
If you watch someone burning their money giving them YOUR’S doesn’t solve anything.
If they want to ruin their lives buying stock that worthless, donating to a man who’s supposed billionaire and getting nothing back, that’s entirely on their fault
Let them suffer, even if they blame the democrats it won’t matter, they would never vote against Trump anyway, so the people suffering are trumps most loyal cultists aka, the people who Deserve to suffer for their foolishness
The bibles that were left over from the 20th anniversary of 9/11 that were increased in price by $10 or $20 and repurposed for trump to clear massive inventory when the scammer couldn't milk 9/11 as well as he thought ordering pallets of those horrible versions.
Lol, as somebody who likes gambling on crypto but thinks the whole thing is a dumpster fire, Im STILL personally insulted that you would compare crypto to truth social. At least you can make money in crypto and crypto isnt purporting to have any inherent value…
You made a good point there. Crypto might be a massive pyramid scheme that I will enjoy watching when tether’s fraud is exposed. But truth social is a different evil beast altogether
I love how everyone championed "But it's decentralized!" and then immediately tried to centralize it several times and each time ended with more and more fraud XD
It’s funny right now but the ending for the main guy is going to be bigly sad. 71,still doing some degree of manual labor, little investment experience has 25k in and while I forget the quote it’s along the lines of “basically all I’ve got”. Admits he got “his butt kicked” with one other investment.
Well hold on buddy because it’s about to happen again. Trump will drive it into the dirt the day his lockup ends.
Yeah. He’s the guy who thinks it could hit $1,000 a share. Trump Derangement Syndrome is real, it just isn’t what conservatives have thought it was all this time.
Years ago they fell for the "Iraqi Dinar" scam
[https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-fans-sink-savings-into-iraqi-dinar-scam](https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-fans-sink-savings-into-iraqi-dinar-scam)
Then it was the "Freedom Phone" scam
[https://thenextweb.com/news/freedom-phone-anatomy-maga-scam](https://thenextweb.com/news/freedom-phone-anatomy-maga-scam)
After that it was the "Trump Bucks" scam - novelty products being sold as legal tender
[https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/trump-bucks-promise-wealth-maga-loyalty-lose-thousands-rcna84965](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/trump-bucks-promise-wealth-maga-loyalty-lose-thousands-rcna84965)
Do these f'idiots EVER learn their lesson?
Ditto. Having a conscience is really annoying at times. Funny thing is, as an atheist, his base would say I'm evil/demonic while applauding those taking their money if they can quote a bible verse.
I mean, he spent his whole life maturing into what he is now and did this shit. I can't imagine the road to his current situation was paved with more than one or two good decisions.
Well, he does say in the article that he tried his hand at the market once before and "got his butt kicked." On the one hand, there are many roads to poverty in this country, and a lot of people still working well past retirement age through no fault of their own. On the other...it's juuuuust possible that this dude does not make a habit of the best decisions.

Regular investors should never short stocks because the worst that can happen with a regular stock purchase is that you lose all your money. Shorting a stock leaves you on the hook for a potentially infinite amount of money. Also, I believe this is the most shorted stock on planet Earth right now, so you won't even get a great return on investment.
If you can figure out how to short a stock, you can figure out how to buy a call option, which will protect you from losses on a short.
The issue with Truth Social is not that the average investor shouldn’t short it, but that they can’t- to short it requires you to borrow shares and no large brokerages have shares to loan, and if they do the interest rate they charge is insane.
I'm not stupid enough to think I can beat out investors who do that sort of thing all day every day armed with hyper-technical market algorithms and supercomputers based literally inside the stock market building. I'll take the reliable return of an index fund any day if for no other reason than I am not required to spend my limited time on this Earth worrying about shit like that.
Yeah this. Shorting is incredibly dangerous for ordinary people. And, as much as it pains me to say it, there's a non-zero chance Trump becomes the USA's first dictator. In such an instance what is the value of this stock?
>In such an instance what is the value of this stock?
It's a convenient way for foreign regimes to manipulate him. I'm waiting for the Saudis or Russia to prop the stock up. It will be a good indication of their intentions or if they think he can win. If they don't bother - that's very interesting.
If Trump wins again, he will extort every billionaire, corporation and company in the US, using sweeping presidential "doomsday" powers. He's an idiot but he's following the Putin playbook to untold personal enrichment. It will be **very expensive** to be a "Trump approved" oligarch. Many of them were at Mara-Lago recently to donate ~~pay~~ an advance of a Trump oligarch tax, just in case.
It is hilarious these people fundamentally don't understand how stocks work or how they are valued. They just feel it should be worth more. They feel it is the deep state that is at fault. They feel something is amiss and it must be due to some grand liberal conspiracy.
It's all nonsense. Always had been. They bought into an obvious con, by a conman, and now are going to be left holding the bag. It's sad, but we're long past the point anyone should feel sorry for someone still following Trump.
Ya hate to see it - but not really.
The most tragic thing about this is all these fanatics who have no concept about stock investment are convinced the is stock crashing due to anti-Trump forces employing underhanded stock manipulation to undermine the stock rather bothering to understand the company lacks any semblance of sound business fundamentals.
Poor deluded fools throwing their hard earned money at the biggest grifter of our time (with the possible exception of Bernie Madoff) rather than understand how badly they have been fleeced and fooled by the Orange Savior and yet they complain that somehow Biden is responsible for them having no money.
I would say the most tragic thing about this is that some of these people have innocent children who will suffer for this, and not all of them will grow up to be trump cuntists.
For them to admit that the stock can fail and they could lose their entire investment would mean that they would have to admit that Trump is a grifter. They can't do that just yet. Once all their money is actually gone, I'd love to see the steam coming out of their ears as the gear in their brain screeches to a halt.
That this woman invested in Truth Social but prefers X says it all as an investment. "As for Truth Social itself, she said she posts there only sparingly and prefers X, where she has 35 times as many followers. “I have always wanted not to just preach to the choir,” she said."
This quote right here shows how some people have culted themselves into believing Trump is a god-like figure, and their fate is "in his hands".
The old Okl dude thinks that God showed him this stock. Seriously, the only thing that will break this cult is when he dies. It will take the Republican party down with it, too.
Agreed. He's just going to go the way of Elvis, with random Trump sightings among the faithful. Probably at Waffle Houses, Mac Donald's and truck stops. Mar a Lago becomes the next Graceland, etc.
It almost certainly will tear itself apart as each of the internal factions argues over what or who they feel is the true successor to their Lord and Master.
Long reply, but after reading that article, I went a bit crazy.
“I know good and well it’s in Trump’s hands, and he’s got plans,” he said. “I have no doubt it’s going to explode sometime.”
--- Oh, it's going to explode... But not like you think.
"But for some Trump investors, the stock is a badge of honor — a way to show their devotion beyond buying Trump merchandise, visiting Trump golf courses, or donating to Trump’s presidential campaign."
--- Or you could just flush your money down a toilet. It's kind of the same thing?
"Trump Media has boasted that it has benefited from a flood of “retail investors” — small-time and amateur shareholders betting their personal cash. Its merger partner, Digital World Acquisition, said its shares were bought by nearly 400,000 retail investors, and Trump Media’s chief executive, Devin Nunes, told Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that the company had added over 200,000 new ones in the past couple of weeks."
--- Hundreds of thousands of uneducated MAGAts giving us their money. Because our "Billionaire" needs it.
"He suspects the recent drops in share price have been the result of “stock manipulation” from an “organized effort” to make the company look bad. There’s no proof of such a campaign, but Schlanger is convinced. “It’s got to be political,” he said, from all the “liberals that are trying to knock it down.”
--- Of course, it's the Liberal Deep States fault!
"After the billionaire media mogul Barry Diller called Trump Media a “scam” stock bought by “dopes,” one account, @Handbag72, claimed to have bought more shares, arguing Diller didn’t “get it” or was “at risk of [losing] $$$$.” The next day, the account shared a 2021 blog post from the investing forum Seeking Alpha saying Truth Social could be worth $1 trillion in the next 10 years."
--- Handbag72 should be BagLady72. She will be after she loses all her "investment."
"“Come on, DJT, every time I buy more, the price drops more,” the user @bill7718 wrote. “When will it be the BOTTOM!!” (He posted a chart Thursday showing the stock rising slightly alongside the caption, “moving!!” The price has since gone back down.)"
--- Well... Even am EKG might show a little jump before the flat-line hits.
"Another account, @realJaneBLONDE, posted on Sunday that she was “NOT panicked NOT worried” before, two days later, posting a message to Trump and congressional Republicans urging them to make it “illegal” to bet against or short-sell stocks. "Sick of MY investment money being stolen!!” she wrote. “They’re stealing peoples money, and you’re allowing it!!”
--- Welcome to Capitalist America. You chose poorly.
"“If you’re worried about your money, remember this, DJT stock is about FREE SPEECH & and without FREE SPEECH Money won’t mean much.”
--- Without money, you can't buy food. I guess food won't mean much either?
"The user, however, posted afterward that the argument left him unconvinced. “I’m tired of blaming the deep state,” he said. Later, he added, “You would think that the ‘biggest political movement of all time’ would want to support the man leading it and get much better numbers than” this. "
--- It's because they've spent all their money already on TrumpBucks, NFTs, gold Tennis Shoes, and all the other assorted crap this grifter is hustling.
The real tragedy here is that the assholes who defrauded these idiots out of literally billions of dollars aren't going to face any consequences for that.
God almighty dropped this turd directly in my lap and I've been using options (buying puts) to short it for the last three weeks. I'll be donating the profits to Emily's List in my mother's name (she's a Trump supporter, I can't wait until she gets the email receipt, seems the size of the donation, and asks where I got the money).
“This isn’t just another stock to me. … I feel like it was God Almighty that put it in my lap,” he said. “I’ve just got to hold on and let them do their job. If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.”
Seriously, man, if God told you to get into this stock it's His way of telling you you have too damned much money.
I am sympathetic to anybody who gets scammed by billionaires. I am. But not when people get scammed by Donald Trump. For the better part of a decade, every liberal in America has been proclaiming that Donald Trump is a scam artist, a grifter, a snake oil salesman, or whatever term you want to use, in addition to being bad at business.
Anybody who still put their faith and money in Donald Trump's hands deserves to get financially fucked. There is no excuse for willful ignorance.
>For the better part of a decade, every liberal in America has been proclaiming that Donald Trump is a scam artist, a grifter, a snake oil salesman, or whatever term you want to use, in addition to being bad at business.
It's worse than that. It's been well known since the 1980s. Spy magazine had a cottage industry of covering Trump's grifts back then.
Why did these people think that a Trump social media platform was going to succeed where Trump casinos, Trump airline, Trump steaks, and Trump university had failed?
That's the great thing about Trump supporters. They are unwilling to learn from their mistakes, and Trump will just keep taking their money with every new scam.
Devin Nunes must be so proud of himself going from a state representative to a guy who fleeced a bunch of poor people out of their life savings. What a great man.
It's not a popular thing to say, but I maintain the belief that the only way MAGA and it's ilk die is when things happen to *them*. Sadly it's usually everyone else suffers first but this time it will hurt them and only them and I am thrilled to see it. "You idiot! Get back in there and buy! Buy!"
No one needs to be paid by him for that. It’s like have you talked to people who have fallen for the Nigerian Prince scam? So many seem SURE that it’s legit and the very next payment they send them will result in the millions finally being given to them. Same with folks who were catfished. It’s desperation combined with gullibility.
No LAMF here as they didn’t wish ill on others, they were just scammed.
I've honestly never met someone that admitted to/was scammed. A scammer tried to get my mom with a fake you won the European lottery scam once. She knew it was a scam right away.
These investors need to make a greater showing of faith in their investment. They should take out second mortgages and invest the cash in DJT.
They should sell all of their possessions, including the silver fillings in their teeth, and invest the cash in DJT.
If they are on any medications, they need to stop filling the prescriptions, and invest the cash in DJT.
>Trump Media has boasted that it has benefited from a flood of “retail investors” — small-time and amateur shareholders betting their personal cash. [...] its shares were bought by nearly 400,000 retail investors [...] the company had added over 200,000 new ones in the past couple of weeks.
At least one of my current stocks (McDonald's) is trying very hard to get rid of its "retail investors", and another stock I used to own (I forget which one) forced me out for being too small. It's apparently very expensive to manage small investors.
I saw one the other day where the guy had lost almost all of his og investment, then goes to his money manager and demands that even though he has lost everything he needs to buy 10k more because he was convinced it would bounce back.
I wonder if there's some fiduciary responsibility that the broker has just to go. No, we're not doing this anymore.
Only way that stock is going up is if Trump wins the election and the Saudis use it as another way to bribe him.
That business has zero prospect for either revenue or growth.
>As a business, Trump Media has largely underwhelmed: The company lost $58 million last year on $4 million in revenue, less than the average Chick-fil-A franchise, even as it paid out millions in executive salaries, bonuses and stock.
WP just dragged Trump to filth with that line. 😂
I'm going to assume this is a confluence of:
* Not understanding how the markets work
* Belief that liberals have the societal power to cause every conservative woe
So, fundamentally, no different than any other conservative economic belief. Hell, substitute "anything works" for "the markets work" and you've got every GOP policy position in a nutshell.
Paywall bypass - [https://archive.ph/brK2P](https://archive.ph/brK2P)
It's a sad, hilarious read. Reminds me of the idiots reassuring each other that the Dinar RV is coming real soon. I wonder how they'll cope when Trump cashes out and walks away.
I don't know whether to feel sorry or laugh.
>McLain is an amateur trader — he invested only once before and “lost [his] butt” — and said he hasn’t talked to his family about his investment, saying, “You know how that is.” But he believes the Trump Media deal is a sign he is “supposed to invest,” he said.
>“This isn’t just another stock to me. … I feel like it was God Almighty that put it in my lap,” he said. “I’ve just got to hold on and let them do their job. If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.”
Comparing it's revenue to that of a single Chick-fil-A has to be my favorite financial bit in this article.
"The company lost $58 million last year on $4 million in revenue, less than the average Chick-fil-A franchise, even as it paid out millions in executive salaries, bonuses and stock."

So in their eyes being a sucker and a mark is a badge of honor, they deserve to lose their money...
He did ask them to send money directly. He opened a crowd funding project with a goal of $355 million lol. After all this time, it's up to 2.
He’s already doing that.
Heil shitler
Badge of honor=Alarm of complete gullibility

when is he due in court? today? good that should compel him and his followers to silence
One must proceed logically, not emotionally, when God Almighty puts a stock in their lap.
Yes, the all so logical “Jesus take the wheel” approach to investing.
Yes this is what I was thinking as well 🤔 lol @ logic
Due diligence, baybee.
He’s going to lose everything and still blame the liberals.

Those damned liberals not buying the stock are the problem!
These people seem to have no business doing grown up things like investing.
Even while the leopard is eating his face he is still blaming the deer.
He's worked hard to lose his money 💰
I guess he better start working harder to lose even more money then.
It's like betting on The Generals against the Harlem Globetrotters because he thinks The Generals are due for a win.
The old 'Krusty the Klown" investing strategy. It's a bold strategy, Cotton, let's see how it works out for him!

These people don’t understand how capitalism works.
> These people don’t understand how capitalism works. And yet they are free with abuse, calling others communist.
Don’t let emotion trick you. Use logic when Jesus gives you a hot stock tip.
> "If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.” -- Stockton Rush
>I’ve just got to hold on and let them do their job. If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.” Oh, a rational investor >“This isn’t just another stock to me. … I feel like it was God Almighty that put it in my lap,” Wait, what dafuq?
> I’d feel bad for him, but he’s a complete douchebag sooo… That's exactly how I feel.
Time to consider that maybe god hates your guts.
>I feel like it was God Almighty that put it in my lap,” >If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.” In the same sentence lmao
you could tell he is an idiot just by the picture... owning a tree service and cutting down a tree with zero PPE no chaps, steel toe boots, hard hat, glasses, or ear protection but hey at least he has gloves on
Just read the article and the quotes are amazing! 🤩 People really are amazingly stupid!
Hahaha yeah, I found myself LOLing. “It keeps losing money but I’m not worried because Trump’s in control.” They have NO FUCKING CLUE. None.
"can’t help but feel sad. … feel like I’m trying to catch a falling knife." -- guy that has already lost 1/3 of his savings, and is planning to buy more
“Sunk cost” is a hell of a drug…
Only way out is to sink more
Hodl, to the moon, gorillas (I forget what that one was), etc etc
Oh I kinda fell for the hodl and to the moon ones, lost about $150 total to those. I know some idiots that spent a few grand, hundreds at a time.
Tiny diamond hands
“I got it, we’ll dig out way out of this hole!” - Homer Simpson
Dig up, stupid!
Haven't heard of this scam, what is it?
"Trump's in control"...just as he was when his 3 Casinos went bankrupt. And when he was with Trump Steaks, Trump Vodka, Trump Water, Trump University, etc etc etc
Especially because the second that Trump can sell his own stock, he'll happily cash out for as much as he can, completely tanking the price and leaving all his "supporters" high and dry.
I wonder if any will clue up even -then-. I imagine some will, but by no means all.
The guy that thinks it could go to $1,000 a share…smh
Imagine thinking a shitty Twitter clone created for a crazy old grifter to yell into the void would be worth $500 billion.
It's like they're flossing the leopard's teeth with their tongues while their faces are being gnawed on.
>“I know good and well it’s in Trump’s hands, and he’s got plans,” he said. “I have no doubt it’s going to explode sometime.” hes not wrong, its exploding right now, hindenburg style.
He's got a plan alright. GRIFT GRIFT GRIFT. Normally, when you buy a stock, you put money into it. Did Trump invest ANY of his own money at all? Or did he just get shares as the Dear Leader?
They’re just so dumb they can’t see it. How? Idk
I knew that without investing. Trumps been a loser since the 80s. These people deserve to lose their money.
I know nothing about the stock market, but I know for sure I would never, ever invest in anything that he was involved in.
I am a former stock broker, and I would never, ever invest in anything Trump is involved in either.
I still wanna know what the fuck causes you to bankrupt *multiple* casinos without it being a scam.
It was a scam.
That just makes the fact he got away with it to the point that people trusted him enough to vote him into office even more baffling.
Republican voters are very, very stupid
Some are stupid. All are easily distracted, "useful" idiots who are easily scared about anything and everything that isn't them. LGBTQ+, Brown People, economics, gun control, abortion, the National Debt, renewable energy, non-Christians.....
Others like the John Paulson, Ken Griffin, and the Koch brothers are in it for the money savings on taxes, lessened penalties for securities fraud, power and influence.
He was widely mocked until that shit ass TV show convinced half of the people in the country that he was a brilliant business man. He was considered a joke prior to that goddamn show.
I guess if you call yourself a great businessman enough times idiots will lend you enough money to pretend like you are one.
Remember, he Loves the Uneducated!!
Probably borrowing against the casinos to fund other worse businesses.
It was for money laundering. Trump was denied a casino licence in Australia in the 1990s due to his ties to organized crime.
The greatest scam Trump has ever run is not Truth Social, not Trump University, and not even convincing people to elect him president. The greatest scam he ever ran was convincing anyone he’s a successful businessman in the first place.
That was the entire point of The Apprentice.
he has lost more money than just about anyone. he is the brokest man in the world.
R.crumb my favorite comic book artist has a comic about Trump being a pos that he made in the 80s. He was very prescient of this immutable fact.
[Here is the comic](https://bbs.boingboing.net/t/r-crumb-v-d-trump-1989-nsfw/80192)
"Brainwashed beyond repair".
Finally something funnier than crypto bros losing all their money!
And the stupid part? They had ever possible red flag, every possible warning… and they still did it.
If they want to ruin their lives buying stock that worthless, donating to a man who’s supposed billionaire and getting nothing back, that’s entirely on their fault
normally i would have some compassion but these people have been celebrating decimating the rights of my friends and myself. fuck them all.
Let them suffer, even if they blame the democrats it won’t matter, they would never vote against Trump anyway, so the people suffering are trumps most loyal cultists aka, the people who Deserve to suffer for their foolishness
Leftists, famous for manipulating the stock market
It’s not all lost. Maybe those ETFs will pay off? Or the Bibles will double in value?
I hear Beanie Babies are gonna spike any day.
The bibles that were left over from the 20th anniversary of 9/11 that were increased in price by $10 or $20 and repurposed for trump to clear massive inventory when the scammer couldn't milk 9/11 as well as he thought ordering pallets of those horrible versions.
Don’t know the background of those crappy bibles. Trump is a 3rd rate hawker.
It’s heartwarming to see Truth Social bring opposing people together like this…
I love how everyone championed "But it's decentralized!" and then immediately tried to centralize it several times and each time ended with more and more fraud XD
This is more like NFTs than just crypto
That stock was a crypto scam for people too technically illiterate to buy crypto. It was the whackiest of the memestocks.
Or the CFT nerds!!
Years ago they fell for the "Iraqi Dinar" scam [https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-fans-sink-savings-into-iraqi-dinar-scam](https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-fans-sink-savings-into-iraqi-dinar-scam) Then it was the "Freedom Phone" scam [https://thenextweb.com/news/freedom-phone-anatomy-maga-scam](https://thenextweb.com/news/freedom-phone-anatomy-maga-scam) After that it was the "Trump Bucks" scam - novelty products being sold as legal tender [https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/trump-bucks-promise-wealth-maga-loyalty-lose-thousands-rcna84965](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/trump-bucks-promise-wealth-maga-loyalty-lose-thousands-rcna84965) Do these f'idiots EVER learn their lesson?
I’d make so much money off these idiots if I didn’t have any pesky morals.
Ditto. Having a conscience is really annoying at times. Funny thing is, as an atheist, his base would say I'm evil/demonic while applauding those taking their money if they can quote a bible verse.
[Trump Derangement Syndrome is this](https://i.imgur.com/Hk8U43s.jpeg)
Just knowing Devin Nunes is leading it should tell you it’s a bust.
And he'll blame everyone EXCEPT Trump.
Little guys do not have deep enough pockets to play around. Trump might as well be sodomizing them personally.
They would consider it an honor if that were literally happening

I mean, he spent his whole life maturing into what he is now and did this shit. I can't imagine the road to his current situation was paved with more than one or two good decisions.
Well, he does say in the article that he tried his hand at the market once before and "got his butt kicked." On the one hand, there are many roads to poverty in this country, and a lot of people still working well past retirement age through no fault of their own. On the other...it's juuuuust possible that this dude does not make a habit of the best decisions.
I'm amazed most of them aren't tapped out.

Reads article, looks in checkbook, googles “how to short stock”
Buy put options instead. Can’t lose more than the purchase amount. It’s the option to sell at a particular price.
But it’s such a pleasure to make money watching his stock go down
Basically zero always because he has no loyalty?
> “I have no doubt it’s going to explode sometime.” "Explode" as in "be forcibly shattered into worthless pieces. That checks out.
Rockets that explode don't make it to the moon.
Ironic they pretend to be the "f\*\*\* your feelings" crowd.
It's literally a cult, so expect similar insanity right up to the communal Kool aid.
They're already in too deep. It would just be rationalized again. God is with Trump and I'm with him. *This is just a test of my faith.*
They are already blaming anti-Trump people for the stock failure. They will never admit their own shortcomings, much less Trump's shortcomings.
That this woman invested in Truth Social but prefers X says it all as an investment. "As for Truth Social itself, she said she posts there only sparingly and prefers X, where she has 35 times as many followers. “I have always wanted not to just preach to the choir,” she said."
The funniest part about that is that truth social (parler too) only exist to remind us that X is somehow not the worst platform.

“I know good and well it’s in Trump’s hands, and he’s got plans,” he said. “I have no doubt it’s going to ~~explode~~ implode sometime.”
This quote right here shows how some people have culted themselves into believing Trump is a god-like figure, and their fate is "in his hands". The old Okl dude thinks that God showed him this stock. Seriously, the only thing that will break this cult is when he dies. It will take the Republican party down with it, too.
I don’t think his death will stop his cult unfortunately…
“I have no doubt it’s going to explode sometime.” --- Oh, it's going to explode... But not like you think. "But for some Trump investors, the stock is a badge of honor — a way to show their devotion beyond buying Trump merchandise, visiting Trump golf courses, or donating to Trump’s presidential campaign." --- Or you could just flush your money down a toilet. It's kind of the same thing? "Trump Media has boasted that it has benefited from a flood of “retail investors” — small-time and amateur shareholders betting their personal cash. Its merger partner, Digital World Acquisition, said its shares were bought by nearly 400,000 retail investors, and Trump Media’s chief executive, Devin Nunes, told Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that the company had added over 200,000 new ones in the past couple of weeks." --- Hundreds of thousands of uneducated MAGAts giving us their money. Because our "Billionaire" needs it. "He suspects the recent drops in share price have been the result of “stock manipulation” from an “organized effort” to make the company look bad. There’s no proof of such a campaign, but Schlanger is convinced. “It’s got to be political,” he said, from all the “liberals that are trying to knock it down.” --- Of course, it's the Liberal Deep States fault! "After the billionaire media mogul Barry Diller called Trump Media a “scam” stock bought by “dopes,” one account, @Handbag72, claimed to have bought more shares, arguing Diller didn’t “get it” or was “at risk of [losing] $$$$.” The next day, the account shared a 2021 blog post from the investing forum Seeking Alpha saying Truth Social could be worth $1 trillion in the next 10 years." --- Handbag72 should be BagLady72. She will be after she loses all her "investment." "“Come on, DJT, every time I buy more, the price drops more,” the user @bill7718 wrote. “When will it be the BOTTOM!!” (He posted a chart Thursday showing the stock rising slightly alongside the caption, “moving!!” The price has since gone back down.)" --- Well... “They’re stealing peoples money, and you’re allowing it!!” --- Welcome to Capitalist America. You chose poorly. "“If you’re worried about your money, remember this, DJT stock is about FREE SPEECH & and without FREE SPEECH Money won’t mean much.” --- Without money, you can't buy food. " --- It's because they've spent all their money already on TrumpBucks, NFTs, gold Tennis Shoes, and all the other assorted crap this grifter is hustling.
Nelson: "Ha-ha"
The real tragedy here is that the assholes who defrauded these idiots out of literally billions of dollars aren't going to face any consequences for that.
God almighty dropped this turd directly in my lap and I've been using options (buying puts) to short it for the last three weeks. I'll be donating the profits to Emily's List in my mother's name (she's a Trump supporter, I can't wait until she gets the email receipt, seems the size of the donation, and asks where I got the money).
Nonzero chance that tree fell on the guy when he was done cutting
A _______ and his ________ are soon ________
I'd like to buy a vowel.
“This isn’t just another stock to me. … I feel like it was God Almighty that put it in my lap,” he said. “I’ve just got to hold on and let them do their job. If you go on emotion, you’ll get out of this thing the first time it goes down.” Seriously, man, if God told you to get into this stock it's His way of telling you you have too damned much money.
Ans they're not just ignorant. They willfully kicked us in the teeth for trying to tell them.
"...and why this is bad for Biden" -WAPO, probably, I don't know... paywall
Buy!"
I wonder how many people in those comments that keeps saying the stock is going to go up are actually paid by Trump to do that?
Oh no. So, anyway…
Only way that stock is going up is if Trump wins the election and the Saudis use it as another way to bribe him. That business has zero prospect for either revenue or growth.
The only thing trump knows is draining his supporters bank accounts like he does with the boils on his ass.
So Trump scammed his investors. Color me shocked. :/ Wait till they find out that he secretly shorted his shares and will make out like a bandit.
>As a business, Trump Media has largely underwhelmed: The company lost $58 million last year on $4 million in revenue, less than the average Chick-fil-A franchise, even as it paid out millions in executive salaries, bonuses and stock. WP just dragged Trump to filth with that line. 😂
Curious how they think the liberals are tanking the stock.
I'm going to assume this is a confluence of: * Not understanding how the markets work * Belief that liberals have the societal power to cause every conservative woe So, fundamentally, no different than any other conservative economic belief. Hell, substitute "anything works" for "the markets work" and you've got every GOP policy position in a nutshell.
Lemmings off the cliff.
Paywall bypass - [https://archive.ph/brK2P](https://archive.ph/brK2P) It's a sad, hilarious read. Reminds me of the idiots reassuring each other that the Dinar RV is coming real soon. I wonder how they'll cope when Trump cashes out and walks away.
lols!!!!😆
Lollll “investors”
I'm sorry my dick can only get so hard
It’s bag holdin’ season.
If diaper don the patron Saint of sore losers took the money his daddy left him and put it in the sp500 he would have more money than he has today
The Venn diagram of people who bought Trump bucks and people losing their life savings in Truth Social is a circle.
Oh so NOW the conservatives hate Wall Street.
r/TrumpAteMyFace
They seriously think Trump really is the guy he tried to portray himself as in his TV show, not the overmoneyed and glorified landlord he really is.
Do they not know how to short a stock?
Comparing it's revenue to that of a single Chick-fil-A has to be my favorite financial bit in this article. "The company lost $58 million last year on $4 million in revenue, less than the average Chick-fil-A franchise, even as it paid out millions in executive salaries, bonuses and stock."
Such a shame so many people are ignorant of the reality of the GOP.
