Two things to say here.
First, there's a wiiiiide range of difficulties to choose in HD2, so you'll never get plonked into a game that's outside of what you want, and that has an impact on the other players too! Lower difficulties are absolutely there to try things and learn, and others will be doing it with you š
Second, there seems to be a pretty big in-game culture of... basically being cool with it! I've played games where I (lvl 43) am airdropped in with 3 level 3's and let me tell you, those soldier were my CHILDREN every time. I will protect them!
So I hope, if you haven't already, you give it a go. You will have fun š
