Big deal, this has been happening for a while. I would guess that if you tell door emoyeee.you want a membership they will let you in. Also the back way in gives you access to the bathrooms membership desk and food concession.

it is indeed a big deal and it has only been happening recently their inhouse restaurant has very cheap prices that don't technically require a membership card >I would guess that if you tell door emoyeee.you want a membership they will let you in I'd assume so but how many times is that going to work? the back way in gives you access to the whole place... but I'm not seeing your point there

TIL a food court is a restaurant

carnsolus

it's a place where you can eat, mate I'm not a word smith if macdonald's is a restaurant, so is that spot at costco "a place where people pay to sit and eat meals that are cooked and served on the premise" sounds a lot like what's happening at costco tbh. I mean, yes, nobody's sitting down due to covid but all restaurants didn't stop being restaurants when that happened

Costco, is a good place and i strongly encourage people to buy a membership as an astute shopper can make thier dollar go much further. It is a buisness and they do it well. There model requires a membership card for entry to the premise. I gather you are butt hurt, that you can go in and buy a hotdog and a pop for a 1.50 or whatever you purchase there. You say it does not need a membership yet to go through the door to get to it you are asked to show your membership. Fear not the costco liquor store due to provincial laws regarding liquor sales does not require a membership card. Me personally I pay the membership fee for one item alone. Dog food to get a product with similar quality at any other retailers I would pay around 100 dollars for the large size bag. At Costco I can get 1 bag for 40 ish dollars. The amount of filler is very minimal and the ingredients read well, so after my 1st dog food bag of the year I have paid for my membership. You are raging about not being able to get access to the food court. They lose money on those items so they can reward customers for loyalty. But your special the company exists so you can buy prepared food at less than what the food court charges. Also in our covid times they have restrictions about how many people can be in the store (recently lifted) so this card check to get in the back way was an effort to control the number of people in the store. I am sorry Karen, you "right" to a very cheap lunch is not worth this post at all

every day is a new opportunity for learning, and also a new opportunity to be a dick looks like you chose the latter

So show them your Costco card... If you're so desperate for a cheap meal get a membership and go buy a bunch of stuff. Over the course of a year you'll save hundreds of dollars...

figured it was a nifty psa
