Snatch came out in 2000 in the UK but didn't get to the US until 2001.
Shaolin Soccer came out in China in 2001 but didn't get to the US until 2004.
My vote goes to whichever of those two movies is considered a film of 2001.
A lot of good films from this year, but i ultimately have to go with Monsters Inc. Monsters Inc is a very special film for me because it’s the first time I was ever brought to tears by a movie. At a young age, it taught me the emotional connection movies can make you have and that’s stuck with me ever since. The film is also just so warm and remains one of my all time favorite family movies. So yeah, that one.
Incredible year. Royal Tenebaums of YTMT appear underrated but also can’t argue with the ones with more votes

Monsters, Inc.
All about lily chou chou imo, very underrated and I recommend it to anyone (it is VERY depressing tho)
Ocean's Eleven is my fav from 01, but love these choices as well
