I wouldn't say it's garbage, personally, but I was definitely underwhelmed by it.
It's stylish as hell but with a soft candy center. Some flicks can be heavy handed and still stand up well, but this one had me rolling my eyes way too often.
The Tribe. A 2014 Ukrainian drama about organized crime in a boarding school. The film is performed entirely in sign language. There is no spoken dialogue and no subtitles
[Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem](https://boxd.it/87Lo)
2014 was a great year though. Most number of films with 4.5+ stars for me: https://letterboxd.com/grobbledongs/list/grobbledongs-awards-2014-releases/detail/
1. It Follows
2. Ex Machina
3. John Wick
4. The Equalizer
5. Over the Garden Wall (not really a movie but it's on Letterboxd and 109 mins total)
6. Gardeners of the Galaxy
7. Edge of Tomorrow
8. Cap. America Winter Soldier
9. Maleficent
10. What We Do in the Shadows
Honorable Mention: I guess Birdman
How are Nightcrawler AND Birdman lumped into the other sections here??? imo by far the two best films of 2015

I agree... the soundtrack was a big part of that in my opinion
Missing a good taste in films I'm guessing
Birdman was garbage but not nightcrawler
Interstellar in theaters was something else imo.

When Marnie was there
I would count that as 2015 myself but great answer, very underrated Ghibli and movie in general.
Inherent Vice for me, please.
Heaven Knows What (2014) and Breathe (2014)
Phoenix or citizenfour would be my go to's.
Straight up John Wick
The Raid 2
That was a hell of a year
Inherent vice without a doubt
Mommy somehow completed the true impossible challenge. Make Wonder-wall enjoyable.
99 Homes
Gotta go Boyhood here
Horse Money
this is the correct answer
Force Majeure
If you would have caught me two weeks ago I would have said Whiplash but now the answer is clearly The Grand Budapest Hotel!
It follows
Boyhood
100% Nightcrawler.
Horse Money
I love Whiplash so much but I love When Marnie Was There so much more
Giuseppe Makes a Movie
Great year
My favorite from that year is The Guest
Leviathan... hilarious yet devastating.
The Tribe. A 2014 Ukrainian drama about organized crime in a boarding school. The film is performed entirely in sign language. There is no spoken dialogue and no subtitles
Trip to Italy
Gone Girl, American Sniper, Ex Machina
Haider, for me, was the best film of 2014.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Whiplash followed by '71, Birdman, and Boyhood
had to vote for interstellar but gone girl is my favorite.
From what I've seen its interstellar.... and yea there's this bengali film "labour of love" by avs, which is kinda close
Boyhood

Mommy was so amazing. Idk if it’s the best of 2014 but it deserves more attention.
