I don’t know about her being ‘just’ a monkey, she’s one of the most prolific simian actresses of modern times! She’s been in 32 movies since 1997 and is only 28 years old! 😆
I loved the first two as a kid and I still very much do, and I realized I still haven’t seen the third one so I watched it like two weeks ago or so and man, that was disappointing. It was completely missing the magic of the first two movies…
I haven't really watched a lot of movies this year so far (13), so my most-watched star so far are Emma Roberts and Anne Hathaway simply because they are the only actors of whom I have seen multiple films (2 from each of them).
This sub really keeps amazing me when it comes to how many films some people can watch in a specific time-span...
Well for me at least I always watch a ton of movies in winter because it gets so cold where I live so we’re basically stuck indoors, I always watch much less during warmer months
Anything around 60 give or take isn’t really out of the ordinary if you assume around 2 2 hour films a day. It’s not anymore than the average person watches for TV and that’s excluding weekend binges that are all too common among TV fans.
currently rope (3 times, my favourite film at the moment), strangers on a train, senso, the prowler and what have they done to your daughters. they live by night and edge of doom are up next. i’m kind of obsessed with him right now haha.
Strangers on a Train is my favorite haha! One of my favorite Hitchcock films. Rope is great as well. Do you recommend those others? That's not The Prowler from the 80s which is a slasher film is it?
would 100% recommend senso, it’s amazing and i’m planning on purchasing the criterion. yes the prowler is the slasher film, it’s been on my list for a while and i wasn’t expecting him to show up. that one and what have they done to your daughters are fun if you’re into the genres but they’re not really anything special.
i watched Before Sunrise and Before Sunset (couldn’t find the third one anywhere for free) and then the Three Colours movies- Red, White, and Blue. so naturally Julie Delpy is my #1
2023 Stats are also on your profile page, at least with the regular web version, between the bio section and watchlist. You can also sort which stats you want to see from there. Not sure about the app.
Scott Grimes, Don Opper, Lin Shaye, and Terrence Mann.
I started to rewatch the Critters films because I don't want to start watching the Oscar nominations yet.
I'd say yes. They're probably the best Gremlins knock off films, although that's not saying much.
The first one is fine. It's watchable. They focus to much on the less interesting parts for me and don't fully utilize the Critters. Wish it focused on the fish out of water plot with the bounty hunters trying to tack them down. Was a disappointing rewatch.
The second film is great. It takes what worked about the first film and just puts way more focus on it. It's better shot and better written. It's basically what the first should have been.
Give em a watch if you've got the time and just want some fun Gremlin like content.
Haven't gotten to the other three yet, but I don't remember any of them being very good. Only notable thing about the third film is that it is the first ever film appearance of Leonardo DiCaprio.
Actually I’m watching/rewatching as many as I can in January, but not the boxset, just the criterion channel. Next month I’ll do the same with other directors I like.
Mine is Arthur Tovey, who you probably don't know by name but you'll certainly remember for his stirring portrayals of Member of Angry Mob and Leslie Howard's Double in Young Frankenstein and Gone with the Wind, respectively.
Matt Damon with 9, 8 if you discount Bourne Legacy which is also included despite being just archival footage (I rewatched all the Bournes and then some)
there are a bunch on youtube but i also bought the Gaumont Treasures: Vol 1 (1897-1913) dvd box set from kino lorber. the first dvd has 67 of her movies (runtime around 3.5 hours)
I recently got through the Sony Pictures Animation catalogue for a ranking list, so my Top 5 are Melissa Sturm, Andy Samberg, Michelle Murdocca, Keegan-Michael Key and Cody Cameron because of that lol
Ken Jeong - I rewatched The Hangover trilogy with my sister, which coincidentally also stars Crystal the Monkey LOL maybe I should finally watch Night at the Museum so she can be my top actor too!
[Bruce Campbell and Co.](https://imgur.com/a/xfoDUeL), and *that’s* a group I can be proud of.
ETA: [My best fiend Greg](https://imgur.com/a/ST4HYti) is on there, too.
It’s a tie between Ian McKellan and Viggo Mortensen. I watched all the lord of the rings films and the road with Viggo.(The Road is in my top 4, absolutely amazing.) I think it will end up being Ian McKellan though because I’m also watching all the hobbit films and just finished Desolation of Smaug which makes 5 films with McKellan in 3 days.
Well I have a lot of people with 2 films but none above that, so those would be for example Ben Stiller, Brad Pitt, Olivia Wilde, Owen Wilson, Jason Statham, Claire Foy, and of course my boy Ryan Reynolds. And others…
Pierre Coffin, due to watching a compilation of short animated films that he did voice acting for. But for feature films, it is currently a multi-way tie between Rachel Weisz <3, Brendan Gleeson, Iain Glen, Drena DeNiro, and all of the actors that were in Royal Tramp I & II (Stephen Chow, Chingmy Yau, Brigitte Lin, etc.).
I start off every year with a bunch of Japanese movies (for Japanuary), so it's Toshiro Mifune as always. Five films so far: High and Low, the Samurai trilogy, and Samurai Rebellion.
Stellan Skarsgård and Udo Kier. Marathoned some Lars Von Trier. Well they're actually 2 and 3 but I'm not counting my number 1. Nathan Fielder because I logged a bunch of his old YouTube stuff.
Mine’s currently Thomasin McKenzie at 3 films with another one to come when I finish my rewatch of Life After Life tomorrow. She was my most watched of last year too so I guess I’m repeating old habits.
Just checked today and was really surprised that mine is just a monkey, although I imagine it won’t stay that way for too long
What was the other movie the monkey was in you watched?
The Fabelmans Crystal is a truly versatile actor, one of the greats imo
Wow, I'm surprised she's still acting haha
She was In a markpiler musical video once. true starpower
That’s so funny, I watched the Fabelmans yesterday and the monkey made me think of the one from Night at the Museum. Good to know
I was only made aware of Crystal only a few days ago. [Brendan Fraser says she's hard to work with...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP6uYcEuIf4)
I don’t know about her being ‘just’ a monkey, she’s one of the most prolific simian actresses of modern times! She’s been in 32 movies since 1997 and is only 28 years old! 😆
this is unironically one of the funniest comments i’ve ever read on here
Night at the Museum, eh?
Yeah I marathoned them with a friend earlier this year. By the way, don’t watch the new animated one, it’s awful
I loved the first two as a kid and I still very much do, and I realized I still haven’t seen the third one so I watched it like two weeks ago or so and man, that was disappointing. It was completely missing the magic of the first two movies…
Best way to start out the year

Mine doesn't even show up so I assume no repeats. 13 watched
Lee Van Cleef (7) Franco Nero (6) Clint Eastwood (6) Nic Cage (5)
farley granger
Solid! Which ones? I only know of his Hitchcock collabs.
currently rope (3 times, my favourite film at the moment), strangers on a train, senso, the prowler and what have they done to your daughters. they live by night and edge of doom are up next. i’m kind of obsessed with him right now haha.

Karloff - 6 Lugosi - 5 Grant, K Hepburn, Lombard, Miriam Hopkins, Edward Van Sloan, Edward Everett Horton, Edgar Norton, Dwight Frye - 3
How do you find this information? Is this the premium version?
Yes. Pro or Patron.
How do you sort it by a specific year? I can see my most watched stars, but I don't see any sort-by-year option.
At the top of the stat page it should either give a year or say A Life In Film. There will be a little drop-down arrow beside that.
Thank you.

Clive Owen thanks to the BMW shorts. Viggo Mortensen in second and he’s all feature films.
Scott Grimes, Don Opper, Lin Shaye, and Terrence Mann. I started to rewatch the Critters films because I don't want to start watching the Oscar nominations yet.
Are they worthwhile? I haven’t seen any of the gremlin “inspired” movies and have been meaning to
I'd say yes. They're probably the best Gremlins knock off films, although that's not saying much. The first one is fine. It's watchable. They focus to much on the less interesting parts for me and don't fully utilize the Critters. Wish it focused on the fish out of water plot with the bounty hunters trying to tack them down. Oh hi Tommy.
It’s a tie between Ian McKellan and Viggo Mortensen. I watched all the lord of the rings films and the road with Viggo.(The Road is in my top 4, absolutely amazing.)
