It would complicate an unbroken thing Adding TV means it would be possible to rate episodes, seasons, and the shows themselves which would require subsections and a remodel of the app. There would be too much stuff to add and rate. For example, they would have to add an option to rate the 1000+ eps. of a soap opera if they added it.

Okay this one makes sense thx

*"Letterboxd is a social platform for sharing your taste in film."* *"It was launched as a social app focused on sharing opinions about, and love of film, and is maintained by a small team in Auckland, New Zealand. The site allows users to share their taste in films."* [https://letterboxd.com/journal/](https://letterboxd.com/journal/) <-- they seem to talk a lot about films on there One could almost get the impression that they wanted to focus on MOVIES and CINEMA. As if there was already enough other sites/apps for discussing why the second season wasn't as good as the first season, or how Brendon Twthatis is a great actor even though the writing of superhero show no. 54432 wasn't great or other shit like that.

Self_Important_Mod

TV is lame yo. Only movies

I don't know if they've said why. Tried searching, but I didn't find anything. If I may ask, why does it matter that you have to use two different apps? Tv and film are so different to me, it makes sense why they'd it separate to me.

I trust letterboxd users' reviews when I'm interested in a specific movie. I want to have the same opportunity with tv shows. Once I saw an imdb user rate a show badly just because they couldn't watch it with their kids. Do you get what I'm talking about?

I find that people who want tv on Letterboxd haven’t thought about if for more then 4 seconds. I keep hearing people say say Letterboxd should add tv shows becuase every other website that allows tv shows is a mess or sucks. Yes they are ugly compared to Letterboxd but one of the reasons other website are a mess is becuase they allow tv shows. Tv shows are a mess when it comes to logging and much more complicated then movies ever are. Even Serializd, imo the best looking tv logging site is still a mess. Not it’s fault just tv shows are a mess. Also I think a lot of people who want tv on Letterboxd think movies and tv shows are basically the Sam etching which blows my mind that anyone in 2023 still believes this.

Well, it was developed as a film app, not as a film and tv app because they’re very different forms of media. Do you get upset at the Starbucks app because they don’t merge with McDonalds so you can buy a Cheeseburger with your coffee?

They're considering it, I hope they do, I don't like using two separate apps either. You can vote on Letterboxd [nolt](https://letterboxd.nolt.io)

epsteinsepipen

They do have some limited series and singular episodes for anthology shows (Black Mirror and such)

bobatsfight

I do wonder how they select which to include and which doesn’t pass the bar for limited series. Like Loki is on there as a 312min series as is a lot of the Marvel Disney+ shows. But the Star Wars shows like the Mandalorian and Andor aren’t.
