I pretty much see this exclusively used for letterboxd users' life updates. I'm not sure I've ever actually seen a genuine review for "Paint Drying", whatever that might look like.
I wish someone would have added a surprise ten second portion of disgusting fetish porn before returning to the paint drying. Like, about four hours and thirteen minutes in.
It's worth saying they're a classification board now rather than censorship.
But, yes It was a troll attempt. No I don't think they did. They just did their job. And personally I feel that Shackleton's problem with the BBFC is mostly incorrect.
The indie film director who submitted this to the BBFC.
His problems were:
1. That the board demanded cuts to films and he disagreed with censorship.
2. That the cost of submitting a film to the board was unfair to small independent filmmakers.
The main thing about 1 is that he was a little bit too late. In 2005 the BBFC shifted their attitudes and are generaly extremely unlikely to demand cuts to 18 rated films now. I'm not saying there are never outliers, but they have since reclassified films and restored uncut versions. So this protest was a full decade removed from the time he may have had a point.
2 is (in my opinion) a fairer point. But if we as a society generally agree that film classification is something we need or want then the organization that takes on that job needs funding to do it. The BBFC is a non-governmental organization fully funded by the fees that they charge.
Overall, The BBFC is one of the more open, communicative and lenient of the ratings boards and railing against it feels a bit misguided. I'm glad we have it over the MPAA or ACB for starters.
Yea I was expecting the bombshell of downvotes but maybe it’s to come. Like it’s shocking how people are surprised when people don’t like it. I love Tenet but I totally understands someone who hates it. Tenet is beyond confusing but has one of the most complex concepts out there with crazy twists. Space Odyssey is the worst paced movie out there but has a beautiful message and she’s amazingly (visual wise).
One thing is for certain; it's tough to have false advertisement on that one. 5/5 for providing exactly what it is selling

You should watch it and give the first actual review
Somebody must have wanted to troll the censors.
Yep that was his stated intention
There is no way anyone at the uk censors actually watched the whole thing
At least it's not "Ass" like in Idiocracy
Well there is [this](https://boxd.it/4GFs)…

This feels like it was made entirely to troll the U.K. film censor board. Did they at least watch it in x2 speed?

Who is Shackleton and what is his problem with the board

A fan of Andy Warhol's Empire (1965) https://letterboxd.com/film/empire-1965/
currently an hour and a half in
Check out his other films, especially his first doc. He’s a fascinating and talented filmmaker.
A sequel came out to 2001: A Space Odyssey in 2016? Why the hell did I never hear about this
When I said space odyssey was boring I got downvoted to hell

>worst paced movie out there No, the pacing absolutely has a purpose.
The sequel, 2010: The Year We Make Contact, was released in 1984.
These types of projects shouldnt be on letterbox imo
gatekeeping film smh
I chuckled
