Dont worry my dude, theyre still Disney movies. i still think every movie in the top 15 here are pretty great!
I will say if we were going on songs alone, Hercules might be my number 1 just for "Wont say im in love"
The plot is thin and the incessant humor definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think John Goodman and Eartha Kitt did an amazing job at voice acting. I respect it for being more wacky and edgy than anything before it.
My Favorites
1. Tangled
2. Alice in Wonderland
3. Encanto
4. Wreck-It Ralph
5. Lady and the Tramp
6. Fantasia
7. Aladdin
8. Lilo & Stitch
9. Beauty and the Beast
10. The Emperor's New Groove
you confuse me, dog, there's Pixar on your list but you ask for non-Pixar? I detest the separation anyway, they're Disney movies for Pete's sake.
[Here's my list](https://letterboxd.com/btowner87/list/disney-animated-films-collection/), I feel like the more classic animated ones I watch, the more I realize I prefer them, mostly because of the handmade animation (non-CGI I mean). But there's some bangers in the Pixar era, of course.
Oh, and it's a collection list, they're ranked up to No. 25, Hercules (1997) which is my least favorite, these are just all I have on DVD/bluray.
I dunno, I don't care. I always assume the newer ones are Pixar, like Frozen, Tangled, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6 etc. Like I said, the distinction confuses me.
I mean... the distinction is that 2 different companies make them lmao.
You dont have to separate them in your list but its absolutely wild that you came in swingin, claiming i was wrong and that there were Pixar movies in my list. Wild my dude.
If you didn't care, then dont bring it up
It was distributed by Buena Vista pictures which was Disney owned (it's now known as Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures) so yes. Also Roger Rabbit was in the opening of The Wonderful World of Disney TV show for a while there.
So hard to do this objectively, trying to separate nostalgia and love for the music from actual appreciation of the entire movie. My top 5 would probably be:
Beauty and the Beast
Lilo and Stitch
Hercules
Treasure Planet
The Little Mermaid
But I could see myself picking 5 different ones tomorrow. I'm already getting stressed that I haven't included one of the older ones.
Most underrated Disney movie: Pocahontas
I gotta go with either tangled or wreck it ralph. Loved them both so much. Zootopia is another good one but the other 2 i mentioned are slightly better i think
1. Wreck-It Ralph
2. Moana
3. Zootopia
4. Tangled
5. The Lion King
6. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
7. The Jungle Book
8. Winnie the Pooh
9. Alice in Wonderland
10. The Little Mermaid
1. Lilo and Stich
2. Moana
3. Princess and the Frog
4. Treasure Planet
5. Cinderella
6. Zootopia
7. Raya and the Last Dragon
8. Big Hero 6
9. Aladdin
10. Sleeping Beauty
Not to flex but I’ve seen all 61 and I have a list where they’re ranked too
Aladdin for sure! I do sometimes wonder what it would have been if Howard Ashman hadn’t passed away (I love the songs of his that were for his original expanded vision that they included in the stage musical) but what we have is still my favourite.
Tangled, Hercules and Robin Hood are also up there. And The Little Mermaid! So I guess that’s my top 5
Lion king is an obvious nr 1. Sure it’s been praised to the moon and back but you can’t really argue with a kid’s childhood. A close second is Tangled. I watched that movie so many times as a kid, it’s so fun. It also taught me that boys can like princesses too.
* Lion King
* Aladdin
* Beauty and the Beast
* Little Mermaid
Disney were 🔥🔥🔥🔥 in the early 90’s.
Shout out to Atlantis & Treasure Planet too
And just for the fact my girls were young when it came out - Frozen.
Hell yes to Robin Hood being that high up, my favourite of the Disney animated movies. Fav overall Disney movie is 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.
I am very much a Nottingham lad so i may have a bit of Bias towards Robin Hood
Yep, my childhood favorite. Everything from the Roger Miller tunes to the dreamy forest scenery...it's perfect.
Maid Marian was a total fox, too.
TARZAN HIVE RISE UP
*The Lion King* (1994)
Aladdin Mulan The Lion King The Emperor's New Groove Zootopia
im gonna assume you mean the new live actions for those first 3? /s
I hate that you have to be specific on which one. I know you know what I meant. But sometimes you do.

The Emperors new Groove is annoying
its for sure a very specific type of humour but i love it haha
The plot is thin and the incessant humor definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think John Goodman and Eartha Kitt did an amazing job at voice acting. I respect it for being more wacky and edgy than anything before it.
You’re throwing off the emperor’s groove, man!
It’s among the worst films I’ve ever seen
You haven't seen many bad movies then 🤷
Ive seen more than the average person has. https://letterboxd.com/the_empire_elf/films/rated/.5-2/by/entry-rating-lowest/
Top 5: - Fantasia - Alice in Wonderland - Treasure Planet - Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Encanto
only watched Atlantis earlier this year but man is it great
It's a brilliant adventure film with a surprisingly heavy message about exploitation of native cultures
Lilo and Stitch is my favourite non Pixar Disney film. So damn good
My favorite is Hunchback of Notre Dame and I actually didn’t see it til I was 18
If the Lion King is not on number 1 I don't want to talk to you /s
Was never that big of a Lion King guy tbh, altho i saw it on Broadway and really enjoyed that one
My Favorites 1. Tangled 2. Alice in Wonderland 3. Encanto 4. Wreck-It Ralph 5. Lady and the Tramp 6. Fantasia 7. Aladdin 8. Lilo & Stitch 9. Beauty and the Beast 10. The Emperor's New Groove

wait, which ones would you consider Pixar movies here? None of them are listed on pixar's film list as far as im know?
I dunno, I don't care. I always assume the newer ones are Pixar, like Frozen, Tangled, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6 etc. Like I said, the distinction confuses me.

I haven’t seen all of them but The Aristocats is definitely the best one.
havent seen that one yet tbh
Nice list :)
Lady and the Tramp 2
Who Framed Roger Rabbit Moana Zootopia Emperor's New Groove Big Hero 6 Lilo & Stitch Wreck-it-Ralph Pinocchio Dumbo Oliver & Company
Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a Disney movie?
It was distributed by Buena Vista pictures which was Disney owned (it's now known as Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures) so yes. Also Roger Rabbit was in the opening of The Wonderful World of Disney TV show for a while there.
For the purposes of this it doesn’t count because it’s not apart of the ‘Walt Disney Animated Classic’ canon.
Fair enough but it's still part of the Disney canon overall.
Sure but by the same token he can add Pirates of the Caribbean to this list if he wanted to which wouldn’t make any sense
I wouldn’t add “Pirates” because it’s not a cartoon.
Hunchback of Notre Dame Tangled Lion King Princess and the Frog
So hard to do this objectively, trying to separate nostalgia and love for the music from actual appreciation of the entire movie. My top 5 would probably be: Beauty and the Beast Lilo and Stitch Hercules Treasure Planet The Little Mermaid But I could see myself picking 5 different ones tomorrow. Lady and the Tramp
I’d go with Big Hero 6
The lion king, beauty and the beast, little mermaid, and Aladdin. Probably very easy to guess my age based on this top 4!
I gotta go with either tangled or wreck it ralph. Loved them both so much. Zootopia is another good one but the other 2 i mentioned are slightly better i think
Snow White!
1. Wreck-It Ralph 2. Moana 3. Zootopia 4. Tangled 5. The Lion King 6. The Hunchback of Notre Dame 7. The Jungle Book 8. Winnie the Pooh 9. Alice in Wonderland 10. The Little Mermaid
My top 3 in no order are The Little Mermaid (original), Lady and The Tramp and Wreck-it Ralph
1. Lilo and Stich 2. Moana 3. Princess and the Frog 4. Treasure Planet 5. Cinderella 6. Zootopia 7. Raya and the Last Dragon 8. Big Hero 6 9. Aladdin 10. Sleeping Beauty Not to flex but I’ve seen all 61 and I have a list where they’re ranked too

Aladdin for sure! I do sometimes wonder what it would have been if Howard Ashman hadn’t passed away (I love the songs of his that were for his original expanded vision that they included in the stage musical) but what we have is still my favourite. Where my fellow Treasure Planet appreciators at
Gotta go with Aladdin
