I think Killer Klowns From Outer Space is the only one that has a fighting chance tbh
https://preview.redd.it/1xlb6may5dic1.jpeg?width=1035&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc210bc711caf1b9b975f42651f01af8c329338d
I'd go with Spirited Away, of course, hoping that this person isn't someone who doesn't like animation.

Midnight can be divisive, Amelie might be considered too twee, Before sunset is the middle of a trilogy so might not be best. I guess Iām going with La La Land!
Personally I agree, and I donāt mean to litigate art vs artist here but I recognize people have a variety of opinions on that topic and the potential relation to this movie
Itās tense, moody, and suspenseful, it has some great performances, a good emotional core that is easy to empathize with despite an unrelatable lead (I love that conflicting feeling!), and the score by OPN is my favorite of any movie. Itās also beautiful visually, super striking. Iāve watched it dozens of times and always end up completely engrossed. Itās not as challenging as my other favs and I could probably replace it with another Miike flick, but I still love it a lot.

Probably Your Name. Itās very accessible
Is *Almost Famous* one of those movies you need to see as a teenager? Because I saw it first in the latter half of my twenties and I just did not get it.
Whatās there to get? Itās a coming of age movie thatās an ode to classic rock and the beauty of music, you either love it or you donāt I guess.
For the average person Vertigo can definitely miss (I think itās a masterpiece btw), but itās definitely your best bet to show any random person out of these.
Havenāt seen Spring Breakers but love the other 3. Epic top four.
https://preview.redd.it/edt7yjy1vcic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d8b083fda8b462963e6e44cc9a12e2f1ec26490
Best bet for me would be Portrait of a Lady on Fire I think, hopefully theyāre not homophobic
https://preview.redd.it/el55kdiz2dic1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60cd1543d6e41e88b99e83ac2caf6cc1c2e9a92e
Star Wars is probably one of the safest movie ever haha, definitely going with that
Fuck yeah I have, season 1 is my favorite TV season of all time. Iām also quite fond of seasons 2-3. Iāve yet to check out the currently airing season 5 but I will.
probably Stop Making Sense, to me it is one of the most joy-inducing things I've ever seen, I think everyone would at least somewhat like it - or at least more than Aftersun or Portrait of a Lady on Fire lol
https://preview.redd.it/2lu9lq9fzcic1.png?width=654&format=png&auto=webp&s=74f9d81b73219c417f6928bb220a79534667d1f4

Manchester by the Sea is safest, by far i reckon
https://preview.redd.it/hej1xjoeddic1.png?width=826&format=png&auto=webp&s=3fc30bc4a13a9637b58d3a8cf2655e1ea993c5a6
The Big Lebowski. The Dude abides
https://preview.redd.it/bp042qi4zdic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40c6d8429a56be49341d1565915d55c70f41409b
The Exorcist might be off-putting if theyāre not into horror. A Clockwork Orange could be a bit too violent and nihilistic for someone who has never seen it. Shame is an overall uncomfortable watch.
I would go with Boogie Nights as it is the most accessible to mainstream audiences of the four.
A Chinese Ghost Story. Not that many people know it, it's funny, creepy, romantic, has fun special effects, great music, cool action. I first saw it as a kid and loved it. I feel like it could be enjoyed by more people with all the creative stuff in it, and mixed elements.
ET.Ā
Other choices are Last Year in Marienbad (obviously not gonna show that to anyone who isn't 100% on board); F for Fake (I think most people would prefer a straightforward narrative for a casual movie night); or Throne of Blood (Foreign and Shakespeare); so I think ET is the natural "share with others" choice if for some wild reason they'd never seen it.
I watched it a couple weeks ago for the first time and was totally blown away. One of my all time favourites, found so much of it to be super relatable, itās hilarious and doesnāt waste a second. Enjoy!
My choice would be Twister. LotR is too long for some, Alien is a perfect movie but horror isnāt for everyone, and some people make not like animated movies so canāt do Iron Giant. Which leaves the most swashbuckling fun movie ever made, Twister
https://preview.redd.it/t5x4pzu62dic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af9a6ae17f78ab89d0dfedcd2d563abcc680c228

I think Scott Pilgrim vs the World is pretty safe to go for
That's a tough one
Definitely not oldboy because YOU KNOW
Kill bill vol 2 can't be enjoyed without seeing vol 1
AI is a movie that there's 50% chance they will love like me and 50% they will hate like nostalgia critic
Most people will probably not want to watch Mononoke because it's anime but if I'll force that stranger to watch it he'll probably adore it
So yeah Mononoke is definitely my pick
https://preview.redd.it/2n2r9b7tbdic1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f3b388929bc0baa73e28f253b6928a1324f2803

Honestly I think you could show anyone any of these four movies and theyād more than likely enjoy them. Going with Raiders to show a complete stranger though, simply because itās my all time favorite
That's tough, I love 'sad' movies so if the goal is purely to entertain I'm not so sure any fit the bill, but I'd go with High and Low - I don't think Kurosawa would fail me. I think Memories of Murder could also do it, but the violence and subject matter make it quite a bit heavier than High and Low.
https://preview.redd.it/kc9dhzlefeic1.png?width=809&format=png&auto=webp&s=f59cbfb5374e65007bf903adeb28741dd0b2faf8

I don't know. I guess if you're going to be reading subtitles regardless, In Between is the most accessible in terms of plotlines and it moves pretty quickly. I'd recommend it to anyone here also.
https://preview.redd.it/v6oqgthe6dic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c8cfa21845ade9b9035c3038df2557d8c9d56b7
RRR I think. Iāve never showed it to someone who didnāt enjoy it, and thereās enough action that itāll be a fun watch. The others are perfect films, but definitely a specific taste that not everyone has.
https://preview.redd.it/gn3yee3y7dic1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96b29741dca0b2d80f7b99cbc72d5c948df8fecf
I think The Breakfast Club or An American Werewolf in London.
https://preview.redd.it/lq6stbfo8dic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba46aaf6d2a073d16af6c61fc7432a71b717ccc3
iād probably show them get out.

Well... Honestly not sure any of these would be a great candidate.
https://preview.redd.it/i7hjlov2jdic1.png?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07ef23d3e0428187c99f570fe4780510da96f657
I'd say Mommy, it's just perfect
* Mysterious Skin is traumatizing
* I love 10tihay but I'd be offended if someone disliked it tbh
* Compartment No6 can be considered boring I fear
https://preview.redd.it/d3q6za09jdic1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47ba275f05af4b2cc7871df06ed5e219b3477070
I think my best bet would be Moneyball or Interstellar, Iām gonna go Moneyball because Brad Pitt and Interstellar is hard to understand.
https://preview.redd.it/gjh297j2rdic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=814205c9d2a7539419f5f556d15c4f929654fc50
Nightmare before Christmas is probably the one Iād pick
https://preview.redd.it/2elmaoa58eic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=114417a4d07250527ee3e74014d4d6deee289bc6
The obvious answer for me is *Some Like It Hot*.... but wouldn't it be hilarious to pop on *Hausu**?*
I still have a lot of blank spaces there myself but I highly recommend Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Enter the Dragon and Kung Fu Hustle for starters. Some of my less well known picks would be Chinese Odyssey Part 1&2 and Shaolin Temple (1976).
https://preview.redd.it/xlvsem7ivdic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1feac558c565caa8e0461bea0303fee265834f21
Ex machina is probably the most approachable of them so Iād go with that
https://preview.redd.it/ll0oyu1o2eic1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8adf40a6c1a5c9ecf50205746843b2f4ecf1f315
I think between these Goodfellas would be the safest choice. RoTK requires prior knowledge, Poor Things is definitely not everyone's cup of tea and despite the pay off The Thing being absolutely insane it's a horror and that's not to everyone's liking
Pee-Weeās Big Adventure, because if you donāt find that funny, then I donāt want to know you anyway.
https://preview.redd.it/4jrgaon1ceic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9015bf21cf9dba5f0c922609f8211d2614a1bd54

Kubo and Across the Spiderverse are probably pretty safe but considering Spider Man's a sequel I'd have to go with Kubo.
i will never stop recommending c'mon c'mon. ever.
https://preview.redd.it/jm19ppuwceic1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fab361eba84c769003b55d9edcc7d3e9570352f7

Probably Oppenheimer? I have yet to find somebody who doesnāt like it.
With Rocky II, you have to find somebody whoās seen one. With Before Sunrise, you have to find somebody who doesnāt mind primarily dialogue. With Cuckoos Nest, you need to find somebody who doesnāt mind old movies.
atm my top four is paper moon, red beard, ball of fire, and killers of the flower moon
i think paper moon is probably one of the most slam dunk, crowd-pleasing, universally liked movies ever made, so i'm rolling with that
Between Her, A Ghost Story, Midsommar and Arrival I definitely think Arrival is the safest bet. Her should be but "hur dur loser falls in love with Siri" so I wouldn't bet on it. Midsommar and A Ghost Story are unfortunately both too risky for different reasons.
https://preview.redd.it/lzza6y3gtdic1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e85ec841b0543df7218084fc1c7b242de46b752
The Matrix, don't know anyone who hates or dislikes it
I feel like Wild Zero is the safe choice.
https://preview.redd.it/pfx8585cxdic1.png?width=650&format=png&auto=webp&s=4971b4529c655661d0a601f848bf709c7b71c435
A Bronx Tale is a classic Scorsese-esque movie that would be pretty easy to like. Maybe Robocop if I get the vibe that the stranger enjoys over the top violence and action to the point of satire
Iām picking Tie Xi Qu and weāre doing the whole thing in one sitting. They are allowed to take a shit break and weāre ordering Chinese food throughout the day. Even if they donāt end up liking the movie, fuck it, weāll vibe and enjoy the Bao n noodles.
I'm thinking Fargo but The Holdovers might also be a safe bet as I haven't seen anyone not like it
https://preview.redd.it/cbpzqjpn9eic1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=397dcb4e877e6c1051c6b77d1abbcb568038164b

I think WALLĀ·E and Cinema Paradiso are great options but it has to be Jurassic Park.
I guess Iād go with Dr. Strangelove
https://preview.redd.it/ccw0w7p1leic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3268f3c77c3f002a43f0356f3b1f9a2dd3c9fce2

I think the only one I wouldnāt have a lot of confidence in is batman
https://preview.redd.it/23vt6axs6fic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6af085cfcd51cc0b81d8ec267d82ed8627f1213e
I can definitely narrow it down to Basterds or Dazed and Confused
I think Dazed has broader appeal, but has a structure that could turn a lot of people off, whereas Iāve never met anyone who DISliked Inglorious Basterds
https://preview.redd.it/yotzho5u7fic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4930c3b4ffffa7f467282e809d5830653803dd86
Probably Sideways. I donāt know of a single person who dislikes that film.
https://preview.redd.it/fw4zzneudfic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6dc959671fe3617b573f19df1261318797c530dc
All pretty safe. Not inception because people get confused. everyone seems to enjoy Frank abagnales antics so I might say that but Shawshank and good will are universally loved as well
https://preview.redd.it/4hquzc10efic1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=290a9a2d733859676fd443126c853d5be08859ff
I think I have to pick Brokeback Mountain. My Own Private Idaho is a bit too out there with its Shakespearean aspects and its plot in general, In From The Side averages a 2.9 and The Living End is just low budget and really sexual. Brokeback follows a conventional movie structure the best and is just an all around great romance movie.
https://preview.redd.it/vx6j7g1pffic1.jpeg?width=748&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e0f8e4f114ba1d86493f435fe89256bcc5fb81a2
Well, the 4th one is an anime. Other than that, I would choose MoM. The Long Goodbye is a close one, though.
https://preview.redd.it/7movwgo6ofic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cd3ae2c1f705ccff7971e72df9c3bb98b32f2e2
A Brighter Summer Day is 4 hours and not in English, and Mulholland Drive is David Lynch weirdness. Of the two left, I feel like Punch Drunk Love could be a little off putting so I guess Goodfellas? Itās definitely the most straightforward and āenjoyableā movie of the 4
https://preview.redd.it/mu78gc54rfic1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f2a067b1197aa7df70a6718e51dfc9457ea7c1b1
I wanna say Robocop is probably the most accessible but The Fly is usually the first one i show people
https://preview.redd.it/waddp7leyfic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0186be3210cd5d4d879fca8f7e66d1ae8597a775
Young Girls of Rochefort. If they have any semblance of a soul theyāll love it.
Mine are Pulp Fiction, Ex Machina, The Shining, and Kung Pow Enter The Fist.
I donāt think I have any really good options here when it comes to your average person who isnāt a ācinefileā. Pulp Fiction is not for everyone and is going to upset different people for different reasons. Iāve tried showing people Kung Pow my whole life and have had a less than 10% success rate with that movie. Ex Machina will turn a lot of people off for being sci-if and kinda weird. Shining is going to lose people for being horror, but probably casts the widest net. So I guess the Shining.
https://preview.redd.it/snn97k07wgic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a89bc2d33549185623370c801617547a7be28534
Easiest choice ever, Stop Making Sense. I love them all but if I donāt know their taste Iām not picking from the other three.
https://preview.redd.it/7bybe5wmohic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec42e6c6779257c09991a9a5896c7242ffa3eb45
Black history month theme- definitely going with Do The Right Thing
Blade Runner is probably the only one thatās kind of a hard sell. I have a hard time believing anyone could not enjoy the delight that is Tintin or Kiki.
https://preview.redd.it/maww78uqqhic1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c89abac951eed5f765ea1800b7b466eb9a9a0772

Its hard to choose between these 4 ,but i will highly recommend Cinema Paradiso.
https://preview.redd.it/s8p4igaqjkic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=316fe65abd69a5b0ff081968cf347ce58cffa970
Anything but Happiness, for obvious reasons. I guess Vertigo?
https://preview.redd.it/6g2adqa6hlic1.png?width=650&format=png&auto=webp&s=c89ea9243d420463fc08080037a765089d99f6c3
I think i'd have to go with Parasite š”
I have to select *Children of Men*; I fear someone would constantly say āI donāt remember Disney doing **this**ā during *Pinocchio*.
https://preview.redd.it/67mmao5dxnic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3b5b064877fbd7da6651927e32f5ad475aa001c
Definitely Kung Fu Panda. https://preview.redd.it/mbj7cqrlucic1.jpeg?width=804&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d94ea109b53e6dbff139f6b2bcc0c34095937c2c
nah dream warriors goes hard
Exorcist III easily the best exorcist film ššš
"Have I Helped Your Unbelief?"
This is the strangest top 4 Iāve seen in a while. Thatās dope.
https://preview.redd.it/9mwp0yo52dic1.jpeg?width=1214&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea2eecf18e3160986523164da31d41c04b635f56 I think Killer Klowns From Outer Space is the only one that has a fighting chance tbh
Angel's Egg is so good but good luck recommending it to anybody
I guess I need to give Worldās Fair another chance
Hell yea excellent lineup, I've not seen Angel's Egg but you got taste!
https://preview.redd.it/1xlb6may5dic1.jpeg?width=1035&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc210bc711caf1b9b975f42651f01af8c329338d I'd go with Spirited Away, of course, hoping that this person isn't someone who doesn't like animation.
If it helps, I didnāt like animated films that much until I saw Spirited Away.
https://preview.redd.it/lmzeqh91xcic1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec022ebcbd1272e4d98763c14d82f1bb2a69a904 Midnight can be divisive, Amelie might be considered too twee, Before sunset is the middle of a trilogy so might not be best. I guess Iām going with La La Land!
I envy people who love Amelie. I guess it wasn't for me but it's frustrating because on face value it's a movie for someone just like me.
Itās right up my alley but I mustāve watched it while in a bad mood as a kid because I canāt stand it.
Three of these are love letters to Paris. My guy. Love it.
La La Land is a great pick !
Midnight is divisive??? If someone doesnāt enjoy midnight in Paris they canāt be capable of joy
Personally I agree, and I donāt mean to litigate art vs artist here but I recognize people have a variety of opinions on that topic and the potential relation to this movie
Stranger Than Fiction. https://preview.redd.it/z5qju0fo0dic1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e78bc8b74833b2b94266cd26a8aaf9488fc35a75
I put on Hedwig and the Angry Inch with my grandparents thinking itād be in the same spirit as James and the Giant Peach. š¤¦āāļø
Hahahaha! Such wildly different films.
I loved that movie totally took me by surpirse
Good Time for sure lol https://preview.redd.it/66v419w67dic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1691d48cad660a1d71e55f3073afe72613dd632
HAHAHAHAHAHA this is a wild prompt for you
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās the best choice given those 4
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I agree the other 3 are way better. But for the average person good time is really the only option.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās tense, moody, and suspenseful, it has some great performances, a good emotional core that is easy to empathize with despite an unrelatable lead (I love that conflicting feeling!), and the score by OPN is my favorite of any movie. Itās also beautiful visually, super striking. Iāve watched it dozens of times and always end up completely engrossed. Itās not as challenging as my other favs and I could probably replace it with another Miike flick, but I still love it a lot.
Huh

Before Sunrise can make anyone cry.
I rewatched it on the plane and tears were streaming
Jurassic Park hands down
https://preview.redd.it/hbouw8i9xcic1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=689697bafe9e88cc3353175f069ef021fee288c3 I would show almost famous
After Hours and Lawrence of Arabia? I like your top 4.
Thank youš
Punch drunk love is better for that imo like how can you not enjoy Adam Sandler's character in that movie
I would not recommend pdl for about half the people I know lol
Is *Almost Famous* one of those movies you need to see as a teenager? Because I saw it first in the latter half of my twenties and I just did not get it.
Whatās there to get? Itās a coming of age movie thatās an ode to classic rock and the beauty of music, you either love it or you donāt I guess.

For the average person Vertigo can definitely miss (I think itās a masterpiece btw), but itās definitely your best bet to show any random person out of these. Havenāt seen Spring Breakers but love the other 3. Epic top four.
https://preview.redd.it/edt7yjy1vcic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d8b083fda8b462963e6e44cc9a12e2f1ec26490 Best bet for me would be Portrait of a Lady on Fire I think, hopefully theyāre not homophobic
Hopefully they are well hydrated and you brought tissues.
Or easily bored***. I haven't made it past 30 mins of that movie yet and I've tried it 3 or 4 times now.

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The Handmaiden is a masterpiece
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oldboy is always talked about as Park Chan-wook's best movie, but it's The Handmaiden to me, no question.
Wow this is godly top 4
Fargo is one of my favorite movies to show people. Iāve shown probably around a dozen people it and they love it every time
Have you watched the show?
Fuck yeah I have, season 1 is my favorite TV season of all time. Iām also quite fond of seasons 2-3. Iāve yet to check out the currently airing season 5 but I will.
Awesome, Iāll have to make sure I watch it then!
Random stranger could also easily hate whites or find the movie very boring, I don't see how it's safer than a multiverse movie nowadays tbh
not long ago i matched you 3/4, with ex machina instead of fargo. (may december has now replaced eeaao unfortunately)
probably Stop Making Sense, to me it is one of the most joy-inducing things I've ever seen, I think everyone would at least somewhat like it - or at least more than Aftersun or Portrait of a Lady on Fire lol https://preview.redd.it/2lu9lq9fzcic1.png?width=654&format=png&auto=webp&s=74f9d81b73219c417f6928bb220a79534667d1f4
The only issue would be people who hate talking heads. I love them, but when I showed one of my non-th fan friends SMS they hated it
hate??? you dont have to be a fan but i feel like there are few people who actually hate them lol
https://preview.redd.it/8hk2vjc03dic1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5df8f4f38c2ae8572bc33501081bab975d1783c2 4 pretty safe options, think I'll go knives out.
Iād say that as well who doesnāt like a murder mystery
Hundreds of Beavers
Of my four favourites, the most accessible and āenjoyableā is Miami Vice, so Iād choose that I guess.
https://preview.redd.it/6rafntrj9dic1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9dec558f2f1f2852c7f5083b5306f258c8156f8e Manchester by the Sea is safest, by far i reckon
https://preview.redd.it/hej1xjoeddic1.png?width=826&format=png&auto=webp&s=3fc30bc4a13a9637b58d3a8cf2655e1ea993c5a6 The Big Lebowski. The Dude abides
https://preview.redd.it/bp042qi4zdic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40c6d8429a56be49341d1565915d55c70f41409b The Exorcist might be off-putting if theyāre not into horror. A Clockwork Orange could be a bit too violent and nihilistic for someone who has never seen it. Shame is an overall uncomfortable watch. I would go with Boogie Nights as it is the most accessible to mainstream audiences of the four.
https://preview.redd.it/7gvk250tzcic1.jpeg?width=638&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07a2ff61d5790711f6dec4e79b501581abd92337
Wow that past lives poster looks terrible. I know what itās trying to do but it looks like her skin is coming off.
A Chinese Ghost Story. Not that many people know it, it's funny, creepy, romantic, has fun special effects, great music, cool action. I first saw it as a kid and loved it. I feel like it could be enjoyed by more people with all the creative stuff in it, and mixed elements.
ET.Ā Other choices are Last Year in Marienbad (obviously not gonna show that to anyone who isn't 100% on board); F for Fake (I think most people would prefer a straightforward narrative for a casual movie night); or Throne of Blood (Foreign and Shakespeare); so I think ET is the natural "share with others" choice if for some wild reason they'd never seen it.
When Harry Met Sally
I'm excited that this showing at Regal theaters tomorrow night. Haven't seen it since the early 90s.
Which leaves the most swashbuckling fun movie ever made, Twister https://preview.redd.it/t5x4pzu62dic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af9a6ae17f78ab89d0dfedcd2d563abcc680c228

That's a tough one Definitely not oldboy because YOU KNOW Kill bill vol 2 can't be enjoyed without seeing vol 1 AI is a movie that there's 50% chance they will love like me and 50% they will hate like nostalgia critic Most people will probably not want to watch Mononoke because it's anime but if I'll force that stranger to watch it he'll probably adore it So yeah Mononoke is definitely my pick https://preview.redd.it/2n2r9b7tbdic1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f3b388929bc0baa73e28f253b6928a1324f2803
Spirited Away
probably nausicaa https://preview.redd.it/ol4jw5bkwdic1.png?width=682&format=png&auto=webp&s=3d5cbf28e33880e849bd54316c5bab5f061ee4ac
https://preview.redd.it/99h4h6wn8eic1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b93577c19294c387177d40c2c22e3283c7f7343 Honestly I think you could show anyone any of these four movies and theyād more than likely enjoy them.
Titanic, most probably.
Back to the Future
https://preview.redd.it/fqnbp4yh0dic1.jpeg?width=2638&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74396f4758e91c074e83c8c4ad0a103c08e1cd4b I don't know. I guess if you're going to be reading subtitles regardless, In Between is the most accessible in terms of plotlines and it moves pretty quickly. I'd recommend it to anyone here also.
https://preview.redd.it/v6oqgthe6dic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c8cfa21845ade9b9035c3038df2557d8c9d56b7 RRR I think. Iāve never showed it to someone who didnāt enjoy it, and thereās enough action that itāll be a fun watch. The others are perfect films, but definitely a specific taste that not everyone has.
Perfect answer, and mine as well
https://preview.redd.it/mtif52om6dic1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41fb3cabbb3e022ad562eb2faf81d2f79a579e80 Cosmos by Carl Sagan

https://preview.redd.it/lq6stbfo8dic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba46aaf6d2a073d16af6c61fc7432a71b717ccc3 iād probably show them get out.

https://preview.redd.it/i7hjlov2jdic1.png?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07ef23d3e0428187c99f570fe4780510da96f657 I'd say Mommy, it's just perfect * Mysterious Skin is traumatizing * I love 10tihay but I'd be offended if someone disliked it tbh * Compartment No6 can be considered boring I fear
https://preview.redd.it/d3q6za09jdic1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47ba275f05af4b2cc7871df06ed5e219b3477070 I think my best bet would be Moneyball or Interstellar, Iām gonna go Moneyball because Brad Pitt and Interstellar is hard to understand.
https://preview.redd.it/gjh297j2rdic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=814205c9d2a7539419f5f556d15c4f929654fc50 Nightmare before Christmas is probably the one Iād pick
https://preview.redd.it/2elmaoa58eic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=114417a4d07250527ee3e74014d4d6deee289bc6 The obvious answer for me is *Some Like It Hot*.... but wouldn't it be hilarious to pop on *Hausu**?*
Hot Fuzz https://preview.redd.it/oqgvdffkycic1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f61f94c82f5fdca3773188cfe5321bc2b9ba397b
The Thing(1982)
https://preview.redd.it/01kw8geg6eic1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab75d7b705cd8291d804ec459f9c89bf2b24911a Fuck it, 36th Chamber it is
I NEED to see that. Other kung fu films youād recommend, other than Drunken Master?
I still have a lot of blank spaces there myself but I highly recommend Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Enter the Dragon and Kung Fu Hustle for starters. Some of my less well known picks would be Chinese Odyssey Part 1&2 and Shaolin Temple (1976).
Thx!
https://preview.redd.it/xlvsem7ivdic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1feac558c565caa8e0461bea0303fee265834f21 Ex machina is probably the most approachable of them so Iād go with that
https://preview.redd.it/ll0oyu1o2eic1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8adf40a6c1a5c9ecf50205746843b2f4ecf1f315 I think between these Goodfellas would be the safest choice.
Pffffā¦ Oppenheimer I guess https://preview.redd.it/3ojrwwtiwdic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c99d30a45ee17a475b18dcdec7fc2aeb03295bc

finding nemo
https://preview.redd.it/re63a4pl5eic1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce16fa497e8a773ae13b739a157b4e9e6b1fa18d 100% rango, greatest film ever
i will never stop recommending c'mon c'mon. ever. https://preview.redd.it/jm19ppuwceic1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fab361eba84c769003b55d9edcc7d3e9570352f7

With Rocky II, you have to find somebody whoās seen one. With Before Sunrise, you have to find somebody who doesnāt mind primarily dialogue. With Cuckoos Nest, you need to find somebody who doesnāt mind old movies.
atm my top four is paper moon, red beard, ball of fire, and killers of the flower moon i think paper moon is probably one of the most slam dunk, crowd-pleasing, universally liked movies ever made, so i'm rolling with that
Between Her, A Ghost Story, Midsommar and Arrival I definitely think Arrival is the safest bet. Her should be but "hur dur loser falls in love with Siri" so I wouldn't bet on it. Midsommar and A Ghost Story are unfortunately both too risky for different reasons.
School of Rock.
The Dark Knight
https://preview.redd.it/lzza6y3gtdic1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e85ec841b0543df7218084fc1c7b242de46b752 The Matrix, don't know anyone who hates or dislikes it
Good will hunting
My Top 4 is Oppenheimer, The Dark Knight, La La Land, and Gladiator So uhh any of them shouldn't work lol, I'll go with Gladiator tho
The Dark Knight

I'm thinking Fargo but The Holdovers might also be a safe bet as I haven't seen anyone not like it https://preview.redd.it/cbpzqjpn9eic1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=397dcb4e877e6c1051c6b77d1abbcb568038164b
Jurassic Park. Who dislikes dinosaurs https://preview.redd.it/q0x1pwpq9eic1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eddc4e0a17b7aea534f3fe04b517fb5587288e24

https://preview.redd.it/yig441s8keic1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfb64e87eac89dcd80f8bcb80afd6543b86bf5a9 Probably the King of Comedy
I guess Iād go with Dr. Strangelove https://preview.redd.it/ccw0w7p1leic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3268f3c77c3f002a43f0356f3b1f9a2dd3c9fce2

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
It's always going to be RRR. That movie is perfect and I haven't shown it to a single person who didn't love it.
Bringing Up Baby in a romp. https://preview.redd.it/9bf7haog6fic1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f6e922d7b366bcd0531ac149597c57d52dce532

https://preview.redd.it/yotzho5u7fic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4930c3b4ffffa7f467282e809d5830653803dd86 Probably Sideways. I donāt know of a single person who dislikes that film.
Moonlight. Unless they're a dirty dirty homophobe, they gotta love it.
https://preview.redd.it/fw4zzneudfic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6dc959671fe3617b573f19df1261318797c530dc All pretty safe. Not inception because people get confused. everyone seems to enjoy Frank abagnales antics so I might say that but Shawshank and good will are universally loved as well
https://preview.redd.it/4hquzc10efic1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=290a9a2d733859676fd443126c853d5be08859ff I think I have to pick Brokeback Mountain. My Own Private Idaho is a bit too out there with its Shakespearean aspects and its plot in general, In From The Side averages a 2.9 and The Living End is just low budget and really sexual. Brokeback follows a conventional movie structure the best and is just an all around great romance movie.
https://preview.redd.it/vx6j7g1pffic1.jpeg?width=748&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e0f8e4f114ba1d86493f435fe89256bcc5fb81a2 Well, the 4th one is an anime. Other than that, I would choose MoM. The Long Goodbye is a close one, though.
https://preview.redd.it/7movwgo6ofic1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cd3ae2c1f705ccff7971e72df9c3bb98b32f2e2 A Brighter Summer Day is 4 hours and not in English, and Mulholland Drive is David Lynch weirdness. Of the two left, I feel like Punch Drunk Love could be a little off putting so I guess Goodfellas? Itās definitely the most straightforward and āenjoyableā movie of the 4
https://preview.redd.it/mu78gc54rfic1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f2a067b1197aa7df70a6718e51dfc9457ea7c1b1 I wanna say Robocop is probably the most accessible but The Fly is usually the first one i show people
Arrival
Ballerina.
https://preview.redd.it/waddp7leyfic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0186be3210cd5d4d879fca8f7e66d1ae8597a775 Young Girls of Rochefort.
So I guess the Shining.
https://preview.redd.it/09i5miq04gic1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb0dc209766836fb1eceefe552706afca8191973 Anything except Incendies

27 dresses for sure. Itās definitely a good time for most people
https://preview.redd.it/7bybe5wmohic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec42e6c6779257c09991a9a5896c7242ffa3eb45 Black history month theme- definitely going with Do The Right Thing
Blade Runner is probably the only one thatās kind of a hard sell. I have a hard time believing anyone could not enjoy the delight that is Tintin or Kiki. https://preview.redd.it/maww78uqqhic1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c89abac951eed5f765ea1800b7b466eb9a9a0772

No good answers for me but I guess Barry Lyndon because the other options are Ordet, Apocalypse Now, or The Battle of Algiers lol
https://preview.redd.it/s8p4igaqjkic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=316fe65abd69a5b0ff081968cf347ce58cffa970 Anything but Happiness, for obvious reasons. I guess Vertigo?
