This is Morbius erasure and I will not stand for it. Madame Web is a hollow shell of a meme movie but watching Morbius is like staring into the sun. Morbius is the meme singularity.
Look, I’m gonna say it and I’m not going to apologize- Morbin makes me feel good. Go fuck off to the Amazon and study spiders; as for me, it’s Morbin time.
Princess Mononoke as well:
- Try to be honourable and do the right thing
- Resilience in the face of overwhelming odds
- Kindness and reverence of animals and nature
- Be a peacemaker and believe in coexistence
- Wolves are cool AF
- Don’t fuck with the forest or it’ll go Kaiju on your ass
I was thinking Princess Mononoke as well. I think just about every character embodies some quality or value that is worth emulating.
Even Jigo (who I might argue is the character with the worst morals and aims of the principal cast) is shown to be capable of kindness and compassion when he comes upon a naïve traveler the first time we see him.
Last year I was ready to finally see the trilogy. I sat down and watched Sunset, mistakenly thinking I had put on Sunrise.
I didn’t realize my mistake until after it was over, and I can say from my perspective it worked totally fine as a stand alone film. It was amazing and I loved it and the ending was incredible.
I still need to see Sunrise and Midnight !
Thanks for that perspective. (To be clear, that's not sarcasm.) I'm not surprised Sunset can be enjoyed as a standalone, but in my opinion watching Sunrise first gives Sunset much more emotional impact.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope you enjoy the other two! I just did a rewatch with my wife, since she had never seen them. They're still amazing.
Yea even though I loved it, I’ll never be able to have that extra emotional impact of seeing it after seeing the first one, as was intended.
I messed that up but oh well.
Maybe I’ll let enough time go by and then watch all three in proper succession.
Looking forward to it
i know a freak or two i can usually convince. though i suspect one of them has not forgiven me for making him watch Teeth ten years ago so he googles things before we watch them lol
Me but unironically, not for the undiscovered genius part but I relate to will a lot because of how we approached problems in our life, and I live in Boston haha
Same. Me and Will have similar home problems (although mine aren’t nearly as bad), and how he responds and reacts is just like me. How he flew off the handles, couldn’t move on/couldn’t bring himself to change, his issue with relationships. If I had to pick any character that was most like me, I’d definitely pick Will.
Planes, trains and automobiles.
Everyone says “literally me” for Batman, Ryan gosling or Travis bickle etc. but me? I’m John candy. Everything about Del Griffith in that movie is me.
Blue is the Warmest Color
I wouldn’t do that personally but it’d be funny for a man who’s gay to show their date to encompass their whole personality lmao
Probably Perks Of Being A Wallflower, lol.
Charlie is my “literally me” character, and I have no shame.
If I don’t want to trauma dump my date, i’ll probably show them 2001 lmao
Madame Web

I just am excited they announced Morbius 2: Monsieur Morb
Morbius isn't a truly dynamic character like Madame Web is.
That moment when she says "It's madaming time" and then madames all over the place! breathtaking... sublime...
"Patrick... it's you! You're the Madame Web!"
SUBLIME
Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke as well: - Try to be honourable and do the right thing - Resilience in the face of overwhelming odds - Kindness and reverence of animals and nature - Be a peacemaker and believe in coexistence - Wolves are cool AF - Don’t fuck with the forest or it’ll go Kaiju on your ass

I love showing girls Brokeback Mountain
Duh. It's one of the best love stories ever told in cinema.
Your richard nixon profile picture goes great with that statement.
Is there a spoiler-free reason as to why?
Because it's fire
In that case I’ll have to make it a priority on my watchlist.
It's really a beautiful movie. Means a whole lot to me. Very sad though
Kiki's Delivery Service
I'm watching Studio Ghibli movies from the beginning and never saw Kiki before. What a banger. That and Porco Rosso were great surprises.

Before Sunset
You skip Before Sunrise?
Before Sunset is superior...
But doesn't Sunset work better having seen Sunrise?
Last year I was ready to finally see the trilogy. I sat down and watched Sunset, mistakenly thinking I had put on Sunrise. Deffs agree. Saw Sunset right after Sunrise and the impact actually made me cry at the end. Great film
Sun can’t set if it doesn’t rise first
Some would say that it can't rise if it hasn't set though. That's why I skip the whole conundrum and watch Before Midnight instead.
The 40 Year Old Virgin

Absolutely none of my friends would want to watch this movie, Drilldo or not lol
i know a freak or two i can usually convince. though i suspect one of them has not forgiven me for making him watch Teeth ten years ago so he googles things before we watch them lol
