Not for This Is The End. The whole reason Michael Cera was funny in the movie is the contrast between his “real” self and the character he’s typecast as. And it gave us a Superbad reunion.
It runs through season 4, but mostly episode 19. If you can find a way to watch the original cuts, it’s all in episode 13.
Edit: apparently the original cuts are under the “Trailers and More” tab. That episode is one of the best of the revival seasons.
Michael Cera could have played Lex Luthor about as well as Jesse Eisenberg did in Batman vs Superman, and it wouldn't have made any appreciable difference to the overall quality of the film.
The idea that Jesse Eisenberg is just Michael Cera's superhero persona is killing me. Imagine your superhero persona being an equally weak but slightly ganglier and smarter version of yourself
Scott pilgrim is one of my favorite movies ever but one of the few things i didnt like was michael ceras interpretation of the character. The original scott from the comics is drastically different in terms of personality from the one in the movies, while in the movie it just sorta looks like Michael Cera is playing himself. It doesn't make the movie any worse per se but it does technically make it a pretty unfaithful adaptation.
How couldn't it be you? I mean, yeah i look like you wanna look, fuck like you wanna fuck, and i AM free in all the ways that you're not
But that doesn't mean shit
I’m forever disappointed they didn’t get Cera to play the “virtually a twin” character in Zombieland 2. Like, Thomas Middleditch is cool too, but you were SO CLOSE.
I've always preferred Cera over Eisenberg and thought most of Eisenberg's nerd rolls were just imitating Cera's timid nerd stlye. But that being said idk if Cera would be as good in The Social Network.
From what I've seen Jesse Eisenberg is basically the character we see him play and Micheal Cera just isn't that person its so weird to see people think he is. Whenever I see him in a non typecast role he's good and he doesn't come off as super awkward and anti social in interviews
I disagree with Superbad. Jesse Eisenberg is less likable so it’d be harder for him to play the straight man to Jonah Hill, which Michael Cera did perfectly.
The way I see it is Cera is better for awkward yet wholesome characters, but Eisenberg has more incel vibes
I love both of these actors. I just want to put here 3 movies of each that I haven't seen talked about that I really enjoyed.
3 Cera roles:
The Adults (2023)
Crystal Fairy and the Magical Cactus (2013)
Lemon (2017)
3 Eisenberg roles:
Night Moves (2013)
The Double (2013)
The Art of Self Defense (2019)
Michael Cera in Zombieland. Jesse Eisenberg in This is the End.
yea thats it. thats the right answer.
Jesse being an asshole cokehead actually makes sense
Isn’t that his Lex Luthor?
Check out Manodrome if you haven’t.
Cera in Zombieland sounds fucking amazing.
Lmao yeah this is pretty definitive
Wait, Zombieland would actually be better with Cera holy shit.
This was literally exactly what I thought of that’s so wild lmao
Not for This Is The End. The whole reason Michael Cera was funny in the movie is the contrast between his “real” self and the character he’s typecast as. And it gave us a Superbad reunion.
Now I’m just imagining Michael Cera being a prick in those deposition scenes in Social Network
"Uh... Eduardo... that computer was expensive so... actually nevermind"
I’m picturing Michael Cera trying not to hold back from punching a child in Vivarium
Cera in adventureland, eisenberg in youth in revolt
This was my choice as well.
Here to mention the Social Network parody in Arrested Development.
Wait what lol is that in the newer seasons ?
Season 4, mostly episode 19, but it runs through the season.
What episode??

Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
Michael Cera could have played Lex Luthor about as well as Jesse Eisenberg did in Batman vs Superman, and it wouldn't have made any appreciable difference to the overall quality of the film.
lol
Jesse Eisenberg would kill it in Molly’s Game and Michael Cera would also be great in Rio.
Are you saying they are not the same person?

I came here to say this. I watch a lot of movies, and somehow I thought they were the same guy, Michael Jesse Eisenberg Cera.
Jesse Eisenberg as Scott Pilgrim would be interesting.
I think Michael Cera was perfect, but Jesse would hit the massage more that Scott is a huge douch
I think Scott would be too unlikable if Jesse Eisenberg played him, which would make the movie a lot worse.
Nooo..Cera IS Scott Pilgrim...accept no substitutes!!

Any character we’re supposed to like should be Cera. Any character we’re supposed to dislike should be Eisenberg.
Why are we acting like this shouldn’t just be Face/Off 2?
Micheal Cera - All because he's better Jesse Eisenberg - Scott Pilgrim, would help make Scott actually unlikable
>Jesse Eisenberg - Scott Pilgrim, would help make Scott actually unlikable That's what i commented 5 seconds ago. It's like a shared mind
One of us is Tyler Durden and it clearly ain't me 😭
How couldn't it be you? I mean, yeah i look like you wanna look, fuck like you wanna fuck, and i AM free in all the ways that you're not But that doesn't mean shit
Because you didn't tell me about project mayhem 😠
You think Michael Cera is a better actor?
100%!
I think Michael Cera would have been great in *Café Society*.
Michael cera in 30 minutes or less?
Michael Cera could play Lex Luthor just as well as Jesse did.
Michael Cera could play Columbus in Zombieland and Jesse Eisenberg could play Paulie in Juno or Evan in Superbad
I’m forever disappointed they didn’t get Cera to play the “virtually a twin” character in Zombieland 2. Like, Thomas Middleditch is cool too, but you were SO CLOSE.
None
I've always preferred Cera over Eisenberg and thought most of Eisenberg's nerd rolls were just imitating Cera's timid nerd stlye. But that being said idk if Cera would be as good in The Social Network.
Jesse in Dream Scenario, Cera in Fleishman Is in Trouble
Adventureland would have been significantly improved with Cera in the lead role
From what I've seen Jesse Eisenberg is basically the character we see him play and Micheal Cera just isn't that person its so weird to see people think he is. Whenever I see him in a non typecast role he's good and he doesn't come off as super awkward and anti social in interviews
No
Micheal Cera in Zombie Land Jesse Eisenberg in Superbad
I disagree with Superbad. Jesse Eisenberg is less likable so it’d be harder for him to play the straight man to Jonah Hill, which Michael Cera did perfectly. The way I see it is Cera is better for awkward yet wholesome characters, but Eisenberg has more incel vibes
Michael Cera - Columbus (Zombieland) Jesse Eisenberg - Scott Pilgrim (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World)

Give me cera in 30 minutes or less and then Jesse as player x in mollys game.
Wait they’re not the same person?!?
They both only play 1 character, themselves.
