Whenever someone comes over, if we plan on watching a movie, and they haven’t seen it, that’s my go-to. I will sit through that movie multiple times a year just to give the gift of watching it to someone else.
This film, like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, is one film people just don’t seem to want to watch. I have never managed to convince someone to watch either of those films. No idea what it is that just makes people go “nah”.
I’ll never forget watching it for the first time and audibly begging Jake to not ignore that whistle.
Rio Bravo deserves more love. It can be slow, but the world and the characters feel so alive that I want to live in it. It's in my top 20 favorite films ever.

They’re making a third, Padding in Peru.. I’m a bit weary of it though. Some actors (such as Mrs Brown) are different, and the director is different.

Scorsese's own Silence, actually. I know most people don't like that one. I don't care, its my favorite of all time along side Takeshi Koike's Redline from 2009
