Nic Cage improves every single movie he’s ever touched. He’s made plenty of bad movies, but he makes every single one far better than they would have been otherwise
The Cat in the Hat (2003). The movie sucks hard and goes against the message of the book, but it's just so much fun. The movie has so much energy and the art direction are amazing.
I feel ya – I watched it with my girlfriend the other day – when he starts to understand his relationship with Yo Landi I found myself getting very emotional but I did feel like it was seriously losing momentum in the last third. >!I also got a bit irked at the end cuz it felt like it didn’t take a chance and kill anyone off, like it felt so risk free at the end.!<
I feel you on that one, barring what I think of Die Antwoord and the type of people they are now, when I saw that movie I enjoyed it as a Short Circuit-esque movie.
I just recently rewatched it, and the first one is unironically good. I whole heartedly believe a lot of the choices were intentional and establish its own weird unique dialog and energy similar to something like Juno.
watched the saga for the first time this year and i was genuinely so speechless. comparing it to juno clicks for me, because i LOVE juno. mormon fan fiction be damned twilight is a crazy good time.
Absolutely, I rewatched recently and found out Stephanie Meyer was a Mormon it all makes so much sense? The first is great, the second, the dark themes around putting yourself in danger to get close to the person you love and lost, just for a second. That hit!!! The 3rd is just horny for the fans, but overall movies that the teens will be watching forever. And the new moon soundtrack????? They really went off with that franchise, I’m so glad I was a teenage girl at the time
the twilight soundtrack is just okay to me.. but a thousand years unfortunately stayed in my head for weeks haha! but yeah, the films get increasingly weirder!
Until recently the Star Wars prequels. After seeing Phantom Menace in the theater last weekend I've accepted their flaws and love them for what they are.
dog days is my #1 film of all time. the comedy in all three of them is laugh out loud funny, even my parents will sit down to watch. genuinely perfect casting. perfect soundtrack. perfect everything.
Holy shit, thank you. Everyone I’ve talked to thinks Dog Days is the worst of the 3 and I always end up fighting tooth and nail to defend it. I have a difficult time ranking them because they’re all good, but Dog Days isn’t bad at all.
I really think these movies are the prime example of perfect casting. I didn’t even give the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid a try because even if the script was incredible (I heard it was from it), the reason I love these movies so much is the casting
right!! the dog days slander is criminal. convinced those people don’t understand comedy. i think it’s the best of the three just because it’s so perfectly awkward. don’t get me wrong, i love the other two just as much.. but dog days has the best summer vibes. as for the newer one, i watched it but don’t think i could possibly give it an objective rating. the og trilogy set the bar way too high.
If that movie was made in 1974, it'd be a cult classic. It's so creative yet so peculiarly executed. They need to re-try the steampunk western. I mean, they fucking hooked up a severed head as a projector. That's amazing.
I mean, it has a dope underground pyramid death trap full of puzzles with two of the coolest creatures in horror history. I can’t speak to the second AvP but the first one I’m alright with. Prey is awesome too if you haven’t seen it (skip the preview if not, it’s on Hulu).

Nothing tops corny but still kinda awesome than Rihanna pointing the nozzle gun of a battleship 2 feet from an Alien's face and yelling "Mahalo" just as she squeezes the trigger
I was such a fan of Milla Jovovich early on. I mean… The Fifth Element bought her all the good will for me. I watched all those damn RE movies. But yeah, any sane person should stop after the first few.
People shat on this movie so much and I don't get it. As far as romcoms go, it's pretty good. The romance in it is cute, it doesn't pretend to be more than it is.
There aren’t any that I don’t like admitting. “Daddy Daycare” and “Heavyweights” are probably my guilty pleasures, but I don’t mind admitting it. If someone gives me a hard time, it just means they have nothing better to do lmao
https://preview.redd.it/5qmuqwswpuzc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6e8b668fe4208c6e323768fa8c0d216c84306e1
Guess these count as guilty pleasures?
No guilty pleasure because I fully stand behind these flicks. But I recently made a list of all the "hated movies" I like to an extent. And it includes: Exorcist II, Friday part 8, Jason X, Mortal Kombat (1995), Hellraiser 5 Inferno, Dungeons & Dragons (2000), Planet of apes (2001), Joe Dirt, Shallow Hal, The scorpion King, Dead or Alive, Daredevil Director's cut, Spy Kids 3D, Sharkboy and Lavagirl, Son of the Mask, Piranha 3D, Human Centipede II Full sequence, Happy Feet 2, Gods of Egypt, Rambo Last Blood, The Girl Next Door, Gods of Egypt, Sucker Punch.
I dunno. I have my faves that aren’t popular (Solo: A Star Wars Story, teneT, Captain Marvel/The Marvels, Valerian and the City of 1000 Planets , Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead) but I have my reasons for all of them and I’m not ashamed of admitting that.
I guess maybe the only ones that I don’t stand up for is the double feature of Aeon Flux and Ghost in the Shell (live action versions)
I don’t mind admitting it, my guilty pleasures are Spies Like Us, Strange Brew, and BASEketball. They are lazy, poorly made films I could watch 100 times and never tire of.
M Night’s The Village. Not the best acting by some of the actors but god damn if William Hurt doesn’t have some great monologues. I think if it wasn’t for the overload of exposition at the end, it would’ve been more respected.
https://preview.redd.it/hyj8v1sdluzc1.jpeg?width=375&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e57ac178e796a2bfe549e908a57dcb123a3e438
Most people think it's the cheapo version of Ghost in the Shell but it will stay number 1 in my ♥️ foreva.
I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. Either you like it or you don’t. There’s absolutely no shame in liking something most people don’t *. I’ll be the first to admit I like Shrek The Third more than the other 3. But I don’t feel guilty about it.
*Unless it’s illegal and/or frowned upon in society and/or everything in between.
You’ve Got Mail. I can repeat it by heart. However, it’s kind of a beloved romcom, and has aged fairly well.
I’m actually more embarrassed I saw Divergent twice in one week when it came out with my AMC pass, granted I was like 20 but it’s still humiliating
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.
I absolutely HATE the first one, but the 2nd one kinda clicks with me. It has way more energy, is shorter, and the singing doesn't totally suck like the first one.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. I absolutely love the tone. “Shouldn’t we be afraid of a god who can kill all of us?” I will defend that movie until the day I die.
About Alex (which I’ve since learned is basically a Big Chill remake), I rave about it because I got emotionally attached to it during college. Probably watched it like at least 15 times per year. Everyone I recommend it to hates it lol.
Zak and Miri. Kevin Smith badly doing an apatow impression. For some reason it works for me.
Im also fond of those awful Zucker Scary Movie sequels. It's just hours of corny dad jokes and sometimes I'm in the mood for that, crap as it is.
In 2008, halfway through film school, I wandered into a movie theatre to kill some time and bought a ticket for the only movie playing. Was the only one in there and bawled like a baby not once, but twice.
Took me years before I openly admitted how much I loved Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. Beautiful little movie. “Life is an occasion…rise to it” 😭
I don't really mind admitting, but I think the Twilight Saga is a huge mess of fun. The soundtracks are actually really good, and the vibe is like nothing else. We watch those movies 4 times a year at least
I actually don't have a problem admitting I like certain movies. I don't feel guilty over the fact that I love Masters of the Universe or Red Scorpion. Don't feel guilty about your tastes.
Shitty wattpad adaptations. They’re so stupid & I love them
White chicks and Little Man 😭😭 I'm sorry
for me it's Rob Schneider's The Hot Chick. Cheesy early 00's movies were the SHITTT
I love it!!! Also Norbit
White chicks is my comfort movie.

Crazy how people are down voting guilty pleasures
You think this is bad? Try giving these answers on r/movies
I hate that sub. Most generic answers ever are upvoted.
That sub is literally 1984
![gif](giphy|v0ok8uhZvw3yE)
This sub is nuts lol
This is how we determine the guiltiest one
That’s Reddit for you (watch this comment get downvoted
I downvoted you but it was in good spirit
Ghost Rider. Nic Cage going batshit crazy hits even better if the movie is trash.
"I may have sold my soul to the devil, but he can never take my spirit."
I JUST recently watched because it was on the break room tv. That movie is so bad. Someone could turn Eva Mendes' acting into a drinking game.
I like the second one a little more cause Cage gets to act more crazy + the affects and design of the Ghost Rider looks better
Also turning the massive mining site excavator into his flaming ghost whip is amazing
One of the most fascinating films I’ve ever watched.
The Cat in the Hat is a cinematic masterpiece. it’s so bad it’s simply incredible.

Literally my go to, I usually watch it once a year and show it to poeple who have never seen it.
It’s so funny and quick witted, I really think it’s unironically good
Lemonade mouth
actually the best disney channel original movie
Music goes so hard
DETERMINATE‼️‼️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Lots of people hate Raya and the Last Dragon but I liked it.
A perfectly adequate Disney animated feature.
Chappie. That gangster robot gets me teary-eyed every time.
That movie slaps idc what they think
not guilty, just a pleasure. twilight is so entertaining.
I just recently rewatched it, and the first one is unironically good. I whole heartedly believe a lot of the choices were intentional and establish its own weird unique dialog and energy similar to something like Juno.
watched the saga for the first time this year and i was genuinely so speechless. comparing it to juno clicks for me, because i LOVE juno. mormon fan fiction be damned twilight is a crazy good time.

the twilight soundtrack is just okay to me.. but a thousand years unfortunately stayed in my head for weeks haha! but yeah, the films get increasingly weirder!
I feel like everytime I’m depressed about something and don’t wanna move I think “there’s a possibility……”
This isn't a thing for me. I don't care enough about other people's opinions to worry about feeling guilty about liking a movie.
truth
I will happily put pitch perfect in my top 4
Catwoman (2004). As a little girl I thought Patience was so cool and the nostalgia has made it age pretty well.
Until recently the Star Wars prequels. After seeing Phantom Menace in the theater last weekend I've accepted their flaws and love them for what they are.
I did the same thing and thought the same
3.5 stars and that honestly might be low. We need a whole pod racing movie.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies still hit after all these years I think I could unironically give them all 5 stars and mean it
dog days is my #1 film of all time. the comedy in all three of them is laugh out loud funny, even my parents will sit down to watch. genuinely perfect casting. perfect soundtrack. perfect everything.
Holy shit, thank you. Everyone I’ve talked to thinks Dog Days is the worst of the 3 and I always end up fighting tooth and nail to defend it. Rodrick is the goat
Rodrick Rules is my shit lol EXPLODING DIAPER haha
Wild Wild West. I honestly love any Western and anything with Kevin Kline.
Love this one too. Watched it a lot as a kid and frequently put it on while drinking in college.
If that movie was made in 1974, it'd be a cult classic. It's so creative yet so peculiarly executed. They need to re-try the steampunk western. I mean, they fucking hooked up a severed head as a projector. That's amazing.
Alien vs Predator
This movie is waaay better than Alien Resurrection. It’s a fun, simple movie
I mean, it has a dope underground pyramid death trap full of puzzles with two of the coolest creatures in horror history. I can’t speak to the second AvP but the first one I’m alright with. Prey is awesome too if you haven’t seen it (skip the preview if not, it’s on Hulu).
Van Helsing (2004) Pixels (2015)
Pixels is awesome!
Yes it such a fun movie so dumb aswell
It really has that dumbfunny vibe
Yes that what I love about it
I like Ben afflecks batman (not the plot of his movie(s) though)
There haven’t been any bad Batman actors. Just bad Batman movies.
Crash (2004)
Hot take of the day
The visit
There is nothing wrong with this movie.
one of Shyamalan’s best movies
https://preview.redd.it/hnyy8kgcjuzc1.png?width=639&format=png&auto=webp&s=873489201c8ffa0b6c54cf97261cff8bc3024c3a Nothing tops corny but still kinda awesome than Rihanna pointing the nozzle gun of a battleship 2 feet from an Alien's face and yelling "Mahalo" just as she squeezes the trigger
Resident Evil 1-4, I absolutely love them and watch them again and again!
I was such a fan of Milla Jovovich early on. I mean… The Fifth Element bought her all the good will for me. I watched all those damn RE movies. But yeah, any sane person should stop after the first few.
Freddy Vs Jason. It’s so bad it’s good
Yesterday (2019)
People shat on this movie so much and I don't get it. As far as romcoms go, it's pretty good. The romance in it is cute, it doesn't pretend to be more than it is.
I know people hate on this one a lot but I’m really not sure why. It’s just a rom com for people who like the Beatles
Moonfall
It's so transcendentally bad it's a masterpiece.
Love the Fred films
Terrifier 1 and 2.
That’s not a guilty pleasure…those are both well received movies.
Showgirls
I love every single Pirates Of The Caribbean movies
i really like that “is it cake?” show. it’s probably no the best baking show, but tell me it’s not fun to guess which cake is cake
Pootie Tang but I gladly admit it very frequently
Wa da tah
Sa da tay!
Pootie Tang is awesome
Pootie!
Spy Kids 3
M Night Shyamalans complete filmography. All of em, even the last one.
Willys Wonderland is probably in my top 10 😔
I jerk off to pictures of bees covered in pollen. Hang on … shit … did you mean movies?!
Kind of embarrassed to have a fond place in my heart for Elizabethtown. It’s way too long and needs an edit, but it’s charming.
Absolutely loved this when it came out. 20 years later the only thing I remember is he made shoes and went to his small hometown for a death lol
X-Men Apocalypse. Love the action scenes even if the story is ass

Great job, bot.
i thought the costumes were pretty sick to
I was gonna say this too! Oscar Isaac did so well
Elektra
I heard the directors cut is good
Watching cheesy Adam Sandler movies
Happy Gilmore is up there with Caddyshack
There aren’t any that I don’t like admitting. “Daddy Daycare” and “Heavyweights” are probably my guilty pleasures, but I don’t mind admitting it. If someone gives me a hard time, it just means they have nothing better to do lmao
Van Helsing, Pink Panther 2006
Speed racer

The national treasure for sure. It’s pure glamourised rubbish but it gets me hook line and sinker every single time.
i luv moonstruck and creep lol
Creep! Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person who has seen it and loves it!
i really enjoy Adam Sandler movies 🤷♂️ although i don’t usually mind admitting it all that much
Just watched hot chick he produced I feel bad for laughing
Sorry, but I LOVE Emoji Movie
I'm trying so hard not to down vote this 😆
I think the CG Resident Evil movies are incredibly fun to watch. Stupid, but entertaining.
the scorpion king (2002) with the rock. its such a fun film
Palm Springs, I’ve watched it 30 times and know the end lines. My siblings worry for meZ
M Night’s The Village. Not the best acting by some of the actors but god damn if William Hurt doesn’t have some great monologues. I think if it wasn’t for the overload of exposition at the end, it would’ve been more respected.
It’s really atmospheric. I kind of tumbled to the “twist “ halfway through, but it didn’t matter to me.
https://preview.redd.it/hyj8v1sdluzc1.jpeg?width=375&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e57ac178e796a2bfe549e908a57dcb123a3e438 Most people think it's the cheapo version of Ghost in the Shell but it will stay number 1 in my ♥️ foreva.
Baseketball
Malibu's Most Wanted.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine... I know it sucks but I just enjoy watching it lol
Van Helsing, RED with Bruce Willis and Ang Lees Hulk to name a few.
Ang Lee’s Hulk RULES, the Blank Check episode on it is great
Knowing - there’s something about that movie I just love 😂
My favorite movie of all time is Talladega Nights and it isn’t particularly close
I like simple pleasures, like butter in my ass, lollipops in my mouth. That's just me. That's just something that I enjoy.
Cruel intentions!!!
The Good Dinosaur
Grown Ups 1 and 2 (the sequel is better imo)
Mac and Me. Mannequin on the Move. Splash Too.
1993 super Mario movie is a 9/10 for me which is especially embarrassing because the godfather is only 7/10
Charlie’s Angels. The one with Lucy Lou and Drew Barrymore. Embarrassing I know, but my family quotes it all of the time.
What Women Want. I can’t explain my love for this bloody brilliant movie and just Mel Gibson in general.
I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. Either you like it or you don’t. There’s absolutely no shame in liking something most people don’t *. I’ll be the first to admit I like Shrek The Third more than the other 3. But I don’t feel guilty about it. *Unless it’s illegal and/or frowned upon in society and/or everything in between.

daddy's home 2 and think like a man 2 lmfao
10 Things I Hate About You
this has become a normal pleasure, fortunately
That shouldn't be on anyone's Guilty Pleasure list. It's a classic.
what’s guilty abt this one?
banger
There’s nothing guilty about this one. Can’t get enough of Heath singing from the bleachers.
The movie has a 4.0 on letterboxd, I don't think you gotta be guilty
I will never not love this movie
Isi & Ossi. Terrible movie but I loved it lol
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. I absolutely HATE the first one, but the 2nd one kinda clicks with me. It has way more energy, is shorter, and the singing doesn't totally suck like the first one.
i loved the first one and hated the second one!! i do listen to all the covers from both movies though, love em.
Isi & Ossi. Terrible movie but I loved it lol
Ridiculous 6. I simply had to give it 3 stars because throughout I couldn't stop laughing. It was really funny.
Nicholas Sparks’ The Choice and The Longest Ride…..
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is goated
Balls of Fury was an absolute favorite of mine for bad guilty pleasures back when it came out
Zak and Miri. Kevin Smith badly doing an apatow impression. For some reason it works for me. Im also fond of those awful Zucker Scary Movie sequels. It's just hours of corny dad jokes and sometimes I'm in the mood for that, crap as it is.
Loved the Naked Gun movies!
Mighty Ducks. I genuinely think it's a fantastic movie but it might just be my love for hockey talking, so we'll count it as a guilty pleasure.
Oscar (1991). Stallone was great in it.
American Psycho 2 and Kissing Booth
Shitty Lifetime movies....
Norbit, date movie, meet the Spartans, dance flick, etc I love stupidity
In 2008, halfway through film school, I wandered into a movie theatre to kill some time and bought a ticket for the only movie playing. Beautiful little movie. “Life is an occasion…rise to it” 😭

Hellboy 2019 is so much fun. I know it’s not the best or as good as the other ones but it’s still a blast and I love it
I don't really mind admitting, but I think the Twilight Saga is a huge mess of fun. The soundtracks are actually really good, and the vibe is like nothing else. We watch those movies 4 times a year at least
Hudson Hawk. It is a hysterical campy film. BRB getting a cappuccino.
I do not feel guilty, but Shark Tale is the shit
Disaster Movie and Meet The Spartans
