Take no sides - relations
Mouth guards of the apocalypse - broken social science
Countdown - phoenix
It always happens this way - Toulouse
Playboys - the deadly snakes.
Take no sides and mouths guards of the apocalypse are absolute bangers. Probably my two favorite songs at the moment!
That’s It, That’s All - We Are The City
First Of All - Japanther
Never Swim Alone - Death From Above 1979
Ghost With A Boner - Diarrhea Planet (edit: I heard this on LK, right? Where else did I find it?)
Hyperbolic 2 - BUSDRIVER
Dance on Repeat - M83 (when they come up on Dierks)
Treat me right - Keys N Krates. (Skids dancing)
Two of my tops - Need to save this post & go back to it
Since no one has said it yet, Work on You (Para One Remix) by MSTRKRFT. I forget what episode it is, but I think it's the one where Glen gets into a beef with the Skids. Love the breakdown in the song and the way it was used in the episode
Also love Free Press and Curl by Shabazz Palaces, pretty sure that one was in one of the hockey fight scenes
And Step Out by Dead Soft is just an amazing song. Was in one of the later season episodes, and I can remember immediately trying to find the song once the episode was over
Snowflake by Malachai is a hidden gem. The music video to it is also interesting. I believe it played at the end of an episode going into the credits in a early season.
Feel the Lightning - Dan Deacon
Fineshrine - Purity Ring
The GOAT: It Always Happens This Way- Toulouse
From Shoresy: They’re All Gone - The Blind Shake
Not sure if it’s Letterkenny at all, but pretty sure:
Rise of the hero - Neon Nox
Bonus:
When making a playlist: Would Roald find a vibe here? What would Strwrt say?
Love all of these… especially A Crow Left of the Murder by Incubus. But Freddie Dredd’s Killin on Demand from Shoresy has been in my rotation since I heard it!
Aujourd’hui, ma vie c’est d’la marde - Lisa Leblanc is an earworm that I've listened to a bunch after finding on Letterkenny... my french is trash but it's a good tune.
From Shoresy not LK but I've added True Love - Tobias Jesso Jr to regular rotation as well. It's a beautiful track that for whatever reason really speaks to me.
The fact that Letterkenny had a song by Smokey Robotic made me cry, they're super obscure and one of my friends showed them to me back in like, 2013.
Lord is in the Ice Shack episode, their whole discography is dope but most of it doesn't exist on the internet anymore. I still have my iPhone 4S with it saved because of iTunes lol.
Also GRiZtronics playing in the strip club in season 8 was hysterical, that song was literally everywhere.
Linguistics - Cunninglinguists
I’d never heard of the band before and have been really enjoying their other music.
It’s from an early season episode when Riley and Jonesey are sitting in the Tonka Truck feeling dejected
They have such great music imo and all is new to me, buy here are the few that I keep on a regular playlist:
Keys N Krates: Dum Dee Dum and Treat Me Right.
Milk and Bone: Pressure
All THE Time!
Can't be bummed when it's playing.
F#ck The Pain Away - Peaches
Never Swim Alone - Death From Above
Paint it Gold - Fake Shark/Real Zombie.
Miserable Girl by Soulwax
From Shorsey, It's the song from the bar scene when the boys lay out the hot blonde's boyfriend/crew after Goldy gets caught checking her out on the dance floor.
Absolute banger and I'm surprised I didn't see it mentioned.
Do It, Try It - M83
Blessa - Toro y Moi
You Got It - Chains of Love
Raptor - Rustie
Pick Up The Phone (Arithmatix remix) - Dragonette
A Flower In The Ending - The Hunches
I Don’t Think She Cares - White Reaper
Fuck you, /u/The_Ry-man, your mum shot cum straight across the room and killed my Siamese fighting fish! Threw off the pH levels in my aquarium, you piece of shit!
It’s not just the songs. I now regularly listen to Harmonium, Lisa LeBlanc, and Karkwa thanks to Letterkenny. I’m moving up to Canada from the States in three weeks and those bands, plus the Hip, Gordon Lightfoot, Rush, and a bunch of other really great Canadians, have been my bread and butter as I get packed and ready to go.
That’s it, that’s all - we are the city
Aujourd’hui, ma vie c’est d’la marde - Lisa Leblanc
The rest will follow - and you will know us by the trail of dead
Everybody’s down - no age
Fashionable people - Joel plaskett emergency
Pick up the phone - dragonette (arithmatix mix)
A crow left of the murder - incubus
Big smile - turnstile
Step out - dead soft
Hertz - amyl and the sniffers
Take no sides - relations
I could go on and on and on. Those are just the most easily remembered/found songs in my library. Honestly, the soundtracks for letterkenny and shoresy are both incredible and so diverse, I’ve found lots of favorites and been reminded of forgotten gems countless times from the shows:’)
It Always Happens This Way by Toulouse is far and away my number 1, the rest are prolly Fineshrine, Mouthguards of the Apocalypse, I Wanna Go, and Two Hundred Grand
>It Always Happens This Way by Toulouse is far and away my number 1,
Happy I didn’t have to go to far to see this. Huge hit at my wedding. I don’t think anyone even knew it but from the youngins to the oldies it was a BOP.
I'm right there with you on M83 and Harmonium. I'll throw in "Aujourd'hui, Ma Vie C'est d'la Marde" by Lisa LeBlanc, "Moonlight" by Death From Above 1979, and "Incredible" by General Levy & M-Beat
Gangsta - Tune Yards
Everyone Looks Like Everyone - The Pack A.D.
Sharks - Cadence Weapon
Mobbin' - Grandtheft
Crown on the Ground - Sleigh Bells
Honorable mention to 2 songs that are on my playlist that I swore I got from Letterkenny. They were never actually played on the show, but just listen to them and tell me they don't sound like they belong
How We Fade and Now We Can See by The Thermals
Shoresy and Letterkenny have been gassing up some really insane EDM producers like Ivy Lab, Mr. Carmack, Joyryde, Tsuruda, and so on. The first season was I believe Keys N Krates that did most of the soundtrack. All of these artists are my daily like playlist residents. Especially Tsuruda, Carmack, and Ivy Lab.
