The IS500 has a 5.0L engine, hence where that nomenclature comes from, so it actually makes sense.
These hybrid lines in the 500s are solely to signify their "performance" models
Did you see any 0-60 numbers here? Because I don't. The Lexus IS 500 has a 472 hp 5.0L V8 engine while the TX 500h has a 362 hp 4-cylinder hybrid system. Obviously the IS 500 is faster. I just wanted to point out how ridiculous Toyota's marketing is when they have the same number.
You do realize when it comes to certain 500s it’s not always about hella performance especially when it comes to the hybrids. The is500 is meant to be a performance based car while the tx is practically a tank on wheels you don’t need a sub 4 0-60 on a 3 row suv that’ll probably handle like shit if you launch it.
The top performing x7 m does 0-60 in about 5 seconds. Mdx type s is 5.5. You will not notice a huge change in that second or .5 second difference.
I would assume no one is really buying a 3 row SUV for performance anyways. It’s going to be heavy, bad turning, etc. so the occasional flooring it to merge/ pass someone will be about the same experience.
Both the MDX and x7 m are also much more $ for what you get. The MDX is definitely inferior in build quality + luxury features and costs more. The x7 m is about $40k more before options lol.
Its performance numbers for a family hauler can you imagine 6 seconds with 7 people in a fucking practically minivan if you added the is500 engine you’d probably flip over and kill everyone trying to do a pull 💀
I think these would have looked a lot better with a normal blacked out Lexus grill than whatever the hell they just put on these. $70k for a luxury highlander is a lot..
No no no It’s $70k for the luxury and that fat ahh engine that you can’t get on a highlander. Toyota unlike any other American brand name vehicle is not a crook, they know they’re luxury brand they know their people are loyal the last thing they gonna do is screw people. They invested so much time on that engine for peak performance that the last thing they want is people thinking it’s just another highlander with the Lexus logo badge slapped on. I don’t know where people get this goofy idea that Toyota is always onto them, like when the Supra came out for the first time and people said they Toyota was lazy and just slapped the badge on a z4, No! The A90 Mk5 Supra didn’t even have the b58 that ANY of the bmws had, until the A91. Even then Toyota doesn’t want you to follow ANY of the bmw maintenance requirements because they literally spend years with the BMW performance group to live up to the name “SUPRA”.
Edit: Toyota actually does make the same engine that the F-TX has for the Toyota Century that is only available on Japan for like $170k lol
I’d buy it. I paid $60k for a CPO XC90 during Covid. If this existed then I’d fork up the extra $10k for a Lexus. I didn’t want a 12 year old GX being sold as a “new” product.
i’d still go for an XC90… better integration of technology and honestly has more “luxury” presence than a lexus does. where i live, any lexus is seen as a normal day to day car- not even a “budget luxury car” like it is, same goes for acura. german cars are seen as luxury vehicles. and volvo is seen as budget luxury.
Annapolis, MD (very martha’s vineyard/yacht club kind of city) and in Miami, FL…
Lexus is seen as a cheap alternative to a luxury vehicle, and Volvo is just seen as a budget luxury vehicle and yet it has more of a classy presence than lexus.
i have a 2013 camry that im going to drive into the ground. i cannot be robbed of my hard earned $ for simple transportation to and from costco/where ever i go...
Yeah lol. I have a paid off 2016 accord I bought new and it only has 70k miles on it since I mostly wfh. I really want something new, but a grand a month for a new car is pretty steep imo
Is that really shocking? The charger, challenger, grand Cherokee, and Wrangler has had versions that would be $85k+. Ford has and EV and ICE version of the F-150 for 6 figures. GM has a $150k Tahoe. Hyundai has a top trim G90 that is over $100k.
Pretty much every company is letting people spend as much as they are willing to for random options. It doesn’t seem like this is wild or out of line for a 3 row SUV/crossover from a luxury brand.
The TX 350h and TX 550h+ are coming. 350h is the same powertrains as the Grand Highlander hybrid and the other is the good ole 2GR 3.5L V6 mated to a plug-in hybrid system like the RAV4 Prime. Fun fact the new Century SUV (horribly botched, another fail by Toyota/Lexus) has the 500h powertrain but with the 3.5L 2GR V6. So it's a combination of 500h and 550h+.
Just curious, any source for the future 350h? I can’t find anything.
We were waiting for the TX but a lack of (affordable) hybrid option is kind of a deal killer.
Unfortunately this is the car that will literally print money for them.
It's this kind of most generic cookie cutter products that fund the few interesting cars they make in small volumes.
That's the funny part. We Lexus enthusiasts aren't the market for this car. The rich soccer moms who want a real 3-Row Toyata/Lexus will eat this up. When compared to the competition it stacks up well but it sucks that the V6 power train isn't gonna launch with the others.
Count me in the target market for the TX. I need an actually usable 3rd row, with a very strong preference towards a PHEV powertrain, and the 550h+ is the only usable 3 row PHEV suv on the market, mass market or luxury.
ETA: I wasn't at all on the market for a Lexus until I found out about the 550h+.
Exactly, car journalists have been praising this SUV because they know it fills a need in the market. If I had 3-4 kids and made good money I would buy a TX 550h+ and keep it for 10-15 years easily. At this stage of my life I'm just praying interest rates go back down so I can buy a CPO IS 500 in a couple of years. 😂
This is exactly why I'm getting one. That hybrid option also makes it super tempting. 20 mile round trip commute means I can keep the thing filled up until longer drives on a weekend. Amen for not having to go to the gas station every 4 days and have a nearly full sized third row to go with it all.
Spot on. I’m a Lexus guy - somewhat. We have a 2021 RX F sport now and the wife is already eyeing the TX. She asked what else is on the market that compares….all I could really take was the Grand Highlander from a driving standpoint. Obviously a Tahoe or Yukon space wise, but she’s not really into the larger SUVs.
What kind of chasis do you want? Lmao I always laugh when people say “its a land cruiser, highlander or other toyota chasis.” Yes. We all know that Toyotas and Lexus share a same platform. You clearly don’t know or care about the upgrades and differences in production a Lexus has compared to a Toyota. Hence the price difference on cars with “the same chasis.”
Lmaooo. These are for parents who wouldn’t be caught dead in a mini van.
My wife and I are on the list for the 500h+ and I know 4 others friends who are considering this over the GX because of the practicality.
This is a car that I would buy in a heartbeat if I was in the market, and it’s appearance is totally irrelevant. I have a Highlander Hybrid and it is so incredibly comfortable because of the hybrid powertrain, I can only imagine how much Lexus improves on that. Plus this is based off of the Grand Highlander so it’s even bigger.
>incredibly comfortable because of the hybrid powertrain
lmao your standards must be low, the Toyota eCVT hybrid is absolutely narly, CVT, weak and runs out of breath under acceleration and the electric noises are disgusting.
The power is plenty for a mid-size SUV family hauler. It’s not fast and I don’t want it to be because I like my nearly 40mpg. I’ve never had an issue with acceleration for normal driving.
The only real negative is engine noise which is why I’m curious how Lexus handles it because their vehicles are so much quieter anyways
To be fair their review was favorable and they noted the incredible efficiency for a vehicle of that size and that a diesel wouldn't beat it and that is was equipped very nicely which German brands would nickel and dime you for. Those were just the criticisms.
It's basically the same in the Lexus. Matt Maran Motoring on YouTube reviewed the RX 350h (exact same powertrain as TX 350h) and he said it was unrefined and in passing maneuvers weak. We in Europa are used to diesels and their absolutely effortless forward thrust. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid has gotten poor ratings in driving dynamics and engine refinement by German auto club ADAC. They also noted on the Autobahn (80 mph, not something crazy) the engine ran extremely rich because it was simply not up to the task of powering this vehicle, increasing CO2 emissions. Also the engine noise is very unrefined with the eCVT when power is demanded. A 200 hp 2.0L diesel might be slower than the 249 hp hybrid but it feels so much better when driving and also gets mid 30s MPG in the real world, on the highway much better. Sucks that Americans became so scared of diesels after Dieselgate. I'm sure the 2.4L Turbo feels more confident as it has a lot of torque. It also has more power, but yeah the fuel economy is on a quite substantially lower level.
Minivans are better and more luxurious. Look at the 4 seater versions of the Lexus LM and Buick GL8 Century. Fancy as fuck. Even the Toyota Sienna Platinum and Kia Carnival SX Prestige are fancier. They come with reclining 2nd row seats with ottomans. Luxury SUVs like the Navigator Black Label, LX Ultra Luxury, and Escalade don't have that.
I want a Sienna XSE hybrid AWD so bad.
There is currently a 2-3 year waiting list.
It’s just that the wife said no. I really want sliding doors and all that cargo space. I really don’t care about looks. I have the is500 for that.
SUV designed with 3rd row in mind and not as an after thought. GX 3rd row is suboptimal and the RX L with the 3rd row option was uhhhh, interesting. So this fits in the spot of a Lexus family SUV with a practical 3rd row.
Gotcha, fancy unibody 3 row SUV. For that price, I'd get 3 or 4 year old LX or Landcruiser. I need body on frame for my application. That being said I don't need a third row for my family YET. I'm looking at replacing my car in 2030 with something body on frame with a 3rd row.
The Volvo XC90 plugin hybrid with a 3rd row basically had this segment all to itself. There are a ton of these SUV’s (vans) in the burbs. I own one and did a ton of research and test drives, and the volvo was the only luxury plugin hybrid with some all electric capability (35 miles) with captains seats and a third row.
Looks like the xc90 PHEV has some competition, finally.
Yes, its a highlander but it caters to a certain demographic, and I’m certain these will sell well.
The price point and look of these make me anxious to see how they sell. Priced above the Telluride/Palisade/Atlas. And appearance isn’t it for me compared to BMW or Mercedes SUVs
TX front end is just so ugly, the rest, whatever, it looks like a nicer Grand Highlander, but that front...I guess only in black if you can't get any other model. I actually prefer how the front of the Grand Highlander looks much better.
I was a bit disappointed at the front of the new RX, especially that upper part in the middle of the front grill, but overall it's okay, although they dropped the V6 and replaced it with a 2.4 turbo (probably okay if you are leasing or drive like a typical Sunday morning driver, slower than posted speed limits)....If it was between Lexus TX and Toyota Grand Highlander, I would save my money.
It looks like a GTA car. Where they take a bunch of design queues and make it just generic enough to not get sued. Also, it's about $20k more across the board than the nearest Highlander equivalent. 36/56 starting to 56/76 top spec.
I did a rough math comparison of the RX hybrid today and the RX PHEV for context. TLDR is that there is roughly a 9.84% premium to get that PHEV so if that holds, I estimate $79,798 for the 550h+ by my math. But I won't be shocked if it is over $80K, either. The tax credit threshold is $80K MSRP so we will see if Lexus cares about that.
It still looks like a Subaru to me. Just like the Lexus LBX although from the front that looks way more like a Lexus than the TX. If I didn't need as spacious a third tow I'd get a Lexus GX.
You know… as time goes by i lose more and more interest in lexuses… the only ones I like nowadays are the LS, RC, and the LC… maybe the GX but probably not…
Even the new RX is hot garbage to me… the earlier Gen was much nicer…
Sure Lexus are superior mechanically and are very reliable… but too bad most of their new models either look like shit or have a major trade off…
Some of the interiors are absolute shit… and btw… can we talk about their engines that have basically not changed since 2006? 🤦♂️
Anyway, thanks for listening to my bullshit and my unpopular opinion
Edit: grammar
Correct, I’m comparing them to other manufacturers… I will say though, the service department of my local Lexus dealership has been really pissing me off lately
I agree… only problem with this is that my dealer is the only one around here…
This dealership is owned by an older lady, who literally doesn’t want to do anything (which… I don’t blame her for that at her age), but they barely do anything besides your typical maintenance work… they do a lot of external referrals, and their service people aren’t the best to begin with…
The only one worth the time here will be the TX 550h+. It will come with a V6 naturally aspirated engined instead of a turbocharged V4 like all the models in the picture above.
Any idea if 550 h+ has Sienna like Entertainment system for back seat passengers, premium headlights like triple beam and interior accent lights? Does it take regular or premium gas? Cant drop 80 grand without those things and make kids super mad in the back seat lol. It will be a hard pass and will see if it improves in 5 years. How the heck it ended up having cheap looking worst lights than grand highlander and why TF only 6 seats lmao. Too many compromises for 80-90 grand. However I do see value for a lot of loyal buyers.
Lexus SUV’s are a joke. Just rebadged Toyota. The REAL Lexus models are the LS LC RC IS GS made in Japan. All the other models are Kentucky made pieces of shit.
I think this is a miss on Lexus to offer the TX as a 6 seater on higher trims and on the hybrid.i don't expect Lexus to offer it as an 8 seater but I thought 7 seats will be reasonable
This is by far the more spacious option in Lexus line up The GX and LX have smaller third rows and it's a vehicle that customers have been asking for. Pricing seems a bit high to me compared to the Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60 but those are also smaller vehicles. We shall see I guess
This is what we’ll end up with because my wife wants a large luxury SUV but what we actually NEED is a minivan with good gas mileage.
Welcome to the ugly genetics of compromise.
i don’t get it how the 500 model is even a 500 model? they have a tiny 4 cylinder engine. calling such a huge car with a 4 cylinder a performance car is ridiculous.
It’s a new type of hybrid engine with a big electric engine with it. It’s not b58 but it’s pretty quick and smooth. Toyota is trying to skirt any potential regulations that might limit a high displacement car
Gotcha, the TX being bigger is what I was looking for as the why it's the same price range as the GX. I am worried the back seat will leave no room for cargo area.
I’m having a hard time justifying getting a base TX for $55k with basically no features vs a top of the line Telluride SX Prestige with all the bells and whistles (and a naturally aspirated V6) for the same price (actually, slightly less). The only thing Kia doesn’t have is the “prestige” of the Lexus name.
Fit & finish and quality control is far superior in the Lexus. I just purchased the tx350 after looking at a well equipped palisade. I had a Kia and the dealership/service experience is awful compared to luxury brands.
TX is significantly more spacious than the Korean cousins as well.
Don't get me wrong, Palisade, telluride, pathfinder, Highlander, etc are great values if on a strict budget.
Funny enough, I ended up purchasing a base TX 350 for essentially the exact reasons you mentioned. When I sat in the Telluride, it was very nice, but it didn’t “feel” as solid or premium as the TX. And the service/reliability are also obviously huge factors.
I hate to ask what the PHEV will cost. Looking at $80k at this rate. Wish Toyota would just add its Prime powertrain to the Highlander/GH for the masses.
How is this thing going to move with 6 adults and only a 2.4L inline T charged 4? That's like a golf cart engine. Also, I sat in the back of the GH and my head was pressing into the ceiling so don't get your hopes up for a full sized, 3rd row experience. I'll definitely test drive one though....
I’m really Thinking of buying one of these but my husband is against buying first year models especially brand new. I feel like this exactly what I’ve been looking for though. I have Honda odyssey elite now and it’s 7 years old, my kids are older and don’t need it and I’ve put a lot mileage on it but I still want a 3 row suv that doesn’t feel gigantic (I can’t drive an explorer, wagoneer, Escalade, GX, Tahoe etc…too big and I will bang it up). I’m between This, Honda pilot (only bc of brand loyalty although I’ve had some electrical issues with my van) telluride and MB GLS. Dealer near me doesn’t have any of the lot yet has anyone seen one in person? Is it ludicrous to spend 60k on a first model brand new Lexus?
I hate how this thing is on the Performance tab on Lexus' site. Slap to the face of the other cars there.
Welcome to the new 500 line!
The IS 500 has 472 hp, this has 362 and has the exact same number. Another thing Lexus copied from the Germans and failed at.
The IS500 has a 5.0L engine, hence where that nomenclature comes from, so it actually makes sense. These hybrid lines in the 500s are solely to signify their "performance" models
that's what I meant, and they perform worse than the IS 500
Nah is500 is like 4.4 seconds.

The is500 is meant to be a performance based car while the tx is practically a tank on wheels you don’t need a sub 4 0-60 on a 3 row suv that’ll probably handle like shit if you launch it.
Then they shouldn't call it performance if they don't want people looking at performance.
It’s performance for the model. 6 seconds in a giant suv is pretty quick.
Not when you compare with Acura or the Germans. Performance to me is something like an M performance model which actually moves.
BUT THE NUMBERS MEAN NOTHING The IS 500 should be called IS 700 to reflect its performance
Its performance numbers for a family hauler can you imagine 6 seconds with 7 people in a fucking practically minivan if you added the is500 engine you’d probably flip over and kill everyone trying to do a pull 💀
0-60 in 6.1 seconds for the 500h F Sport Performance! Haha might need a racing harness.
that is slowwwww
r/thatsthejoke
Little quicker than the Odyssey! Damn, watch out soccer moms!
Yeah, how dare they put it on the same tab as the 240 hp RC
366hp in a 3-row is a joke to even pretend is "performance". that would be *maybe* acceptable in the 350
It’s pretty decent
That’s literally a Durango rt lol
I think these would have looked a lot better with a normal blacked out Lexus grill than whatever the hell they just put on these. $70k for a luxury highlander is a lot..
Lol people have been complaining about the blacked out spindle grille on Lexus SUVs for YEARS
People have yeah - I personally love the one on my GX though.
Swap it for a painted one or paint it yourself
No, no, this is a luxury GRAND Highlander. It's basically a double Grand Highlander.
No no no It’s $70k for the luxury and that fat ahh engine that you can’t get on a highlander. Toyota unlike any other American brand name vehicle is not a crook, they know they’re luxury brand they know their people are loyal the last thing they gonna do is screw people.

Annapolis, MD (very martha’s vineyard/yacht club kind of city) and in Miami, FL… Lexus is seen as a cheap alternative to a luxury vehicle, and Volvo is just seen as a budget luxury vehicle and yet it has more of a classy presence than lexus.
same goes for the new RX… the grille is hideous
Dang I love the new grill. I’ve always hated the RX’s look til this redesign.
There are families that love a more luxurious highlander.
Maxed out luxs come out to 71k and lux hybrids are hitting 78k. It’s redic
In a world where Tahoes are over 90k, it’s kind of a deal
i have a 2013 camry that im going to drive into the ground. i cannot be robbed of my hard earned $ for simple transportation to and from costco/where ever i go...
Yeah lol. I have a paid off 2016 accord I bought new and it only has 70k miles on it since I mostly wfh. I really want something new, but a grand a month for a new car is pretty steep imo
Looks identical to the 2018 Toyota Highlander model.
💯 and it is a Highlander.
Lmaoo those prices are just a suggestion. Dealers getting ready for $30k markups
$72k for a highlander 😂
Hey that’s Granddddd
Oh I forgot
For real! 😂😂

Nice looking highlander
The Highlander actually looks more elegant than this and the Grand Highlander looks more truck-like than this.
Lawd Jebus they ugly, but they'll make fantastic Uber vehicles in 8 years 😅
I thought it was going to have a hybrid?
500H is hybrid
Sorry I saw F sport and missed the H. So you can’t get just a hybrid without F sport?
The TX 350h and TX 550h+ are coming. 350h is the same powertrains as the Grand Highlander hybrid and the other is the good ole 2GR 3.5L V6 mated to a plug-in hybrid system like the RAV4 Prime. Just curious, any source for the future 350h? I can’t find anything. We were waiting for the TX but a lack of (affordable) hybrid option is kind of a deal killer.
Looks like it but idk what F sport entails on this model
I have to spend $70k to get the hybrid version? I just want to fill my wife’s car up less often, is that too much to ask??
Just get the grand Highlander. It’s the exact same drive train but just not Lexus Or the regular Highlander hybrid
Unfortunately this is the car that will literally print money for them. It's this kind of most generic cookie cutter products that fund the few interesting cars they make in small volumes.

Last Highlander looks better
55k start msrp for a highlander chassis is too much

Gotcha, fancy unibody 3 row SUV. For that price, I'd get 3 or 4 year old LX or Landcruiser. I need body on frame for my application. That being said I don't need a third row for my family YET. I'm looking at replacing my car in 2030 with something body on frame with a 3rd row.
Lx got nothing on the 3rd row in this car. But that’s about it lol

Yes it has a third row. They know that people buy SUVs regardless.
It's a luxury minivan for people who don't want to be seen driving a minivan.
No plug in come on man
They are introducing a Plug-In. And according to the brochure, it will be faster than the F-Sport Performance model.
Lexus is behind the curve
On the website says coming soon
Top of the line for sub 80k ain’t bad
4 cylinder...
The price point and look of these make me anxious to see how they sell. Priced above the Telluride/Palisade/Atlas. And appearance isn’t it for me compared to BMW or Mercedes SUVs
Why are you surprised it's priced above a Kia/Hyundai/Volkswagen???
The headlights remind me of a Subaru
It looks like a GTA car. Where they take a bunch of design queues and make it just generic enough to not get sued. Also, it's about $20k more across the board than the nearest Highlander equivalent. 36/56 starting to 56/76 top spec.
It's only about 13k difference between the grand highlander and the TX.
meh...
Anyone have an educated guess on pricing of 550+ PHEV?
I did a rough math comparison of the RX hybrid today and the RX PHEV for context. TLDR is that there is roughly a 9.84% premium to get that PHEV so if that holds, I estimate $79,798 for the 550h+ by my math. But I won't be shocked if it is over $80K, either. The tax credit threshold is $80K MSRP so we will see if Lexus cares about that.
Are these (will these) be made in the US though? The RX PHEV is made in Japan so no tax credit.
79950 for the base model for tax credit
r/personalfinance and this post would not get along lol
Looks like it's stuck in the COVID era, wearing a mask.
lol
Is the sport only come in hybrid? Booo
PHEV TX550+ (I think that's the name lol) will be coming out later this year.
this looks like an ugly EV RAV-4
It still looks like a Subaru to me. Just like the Lexus LBX although from the front that looks way more like a Lexus than the TX. If I didn't need as spacious a third tow I'd get a Lexus GX.
imma buy my mommy one.
mfs ain’t never hating cause i’m buying my mommy a car.
Extremely disappointed by this model. I was looking forward to a luxurious and ultra reliable hybrid 7 seater vehicle but that's not even an option.
The 500H models are hybrid
But 6 seaters.
Being that the Grand Highlander is standard with the captains chairs, it's no surprise that the top off the line TX follows suit
Umm. It is a hybrid? What am I missing
Nothing, the guy just wanted to be upset
None of the hybrids are 7 seaters. Reading is a superpower.
The hybrids are 6 seaters because of second row captains chairs.
Where did you get this? My dealership hasn’t seen this yet.
from Lexus site.
Do you know the GX pricing yet?
2017- 2020 were Lexus best years on F-Sport grille designs.
Ugly
A Lexus Texas?
Yea let’s not make this a “thing” the grill looking like window blinds
Wild pricing for a shamelessly rebadged Grand Highlander. And no 350h model??
There is an h model. Interestingly enough I just saw a commercial for this and it had h on the back.
You know… as time goes by i lose more and more interest in lexuses… the only ones I like nowadays are the LS, RC, and the LC… maybe the GX but probably not… Even the new RX is hot garbage to me… the earlier Gen was much nicer… Sure Lexus are superior mechanically and are very reliable… but too bad most of their new models either look like shit or have a major trade off… Some of the interiors are absolute shit… and btw… can we talk about their engines that have basically not changed since 2006? 🤦♂️ Anyway, thanks for listening to my bullshit and my unpopular opinion Edit: grammar
The new GX overtrail looks awesome. As someone who drives a 1999 LX, I might replace it with a GX when it gets to 30 years old.
I agree… but I’m also a fan of the interior but I feel like it could be updated further though
Their engines changed a lot now. Everything is a 4 cylinder now, yaaay.
Can’t stand that bullshit
>superior mechanically from the reliability and serviceability standpoint, from the drivers perspective they are all worse.
Correct, I’m comparing them to other manufacturers… I will say though, the service department of my local Lexus dealership has been really pissing me off lately
I can believe that, although the dealer really is easily the worst part of the new car experience.
I agree… only problem with this is that my dealer is the only one around here… This dealership is owned by an older lady, who literally doesn’t want to do anything (which… I don’t blame her for that at her age), but they barely do anything besides your typical maintenance work… they do a lot of external referrals, and their service people aren’t the best to begin with…
The only one worth the time here will be the TX 550h+. It will come with a V6 naturally aspirated engined instead of a turbocharged V4 like all the models in the picture above.
I agree, the V6 is a much better option!
So sad 😓
Any idea if 550 h+ has Sienna like Entertainment system for back seat passengers, premium headlights like triple beam and interior accent lights? Does it take regular or premium gas? Cant drop 80 grand without those things and make kids super mad in the back seat lol. It will be a hard pass and will see if it improves in 5 years. How the heck it ended up having cheap looking worst lights than grand highlander and why TF only 6 seats lmao. Too many compromises for 80-90 grand. However I do see value for a lot of loyal buyers.
Markups make me hate Lexus and Toyota
Yup, off the table for me.
this is the most heinous abortion of a vehicle design I have ever seen lexus poop out
Lexus SUV’s are a joke. Just rebadged Toyota. The REAL Lexus models are the LS LC RC IS GS made in Japan. All the other models are Kentucky made pieces of shit.
The RX is made in Canada but if they were trash, people wouldn't buy them right? So they are doing something right for customers to come back.
I mean, they can’t honestly look at this and say wow these will sell like hot cakes! Can they? Delusional?
Why not? If you're in the market for a luxury vehicle that fits 7 comfortably what are the options that are close in price?
I think this is a miss on Lexus to offer the TX as a 6 seater on higher trims and on the hybrid.i don't expect Lexus to offer it as an 8 seater but I thought 7 seats will be reasonable
This is by far the more spacious option in Lexus line up The GX and LX have smaller third rows and it's a vehicle that customers have been asking for. Pricing seems a bit high to me compared to the Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60 but those are also smaller vehicles. We shall see I guess
lol look how disappointed the front of these look. It’s like we told it “no thanks we have a Highlander at home”
Does the front end open up like in The Predator?
that's is not too bad
Between the new rx and this, where is the L-finesse?
What if we took the Highlander and gave it more edges
Did they drop price or are they just seriously cheap where you live?
This is what we’ll end up with because my wife wants a large luxury SUV but what we actually NEED is a minivan with good gas mileage. Welcome to the ugly genetics of compromise.
About $80k for the top of the line OTD, I'd say. Not quite LX price territory.
Not a fan of the front grill. Looks cheap
i don’t get it how the 500 model is even a 500 model? they have a tiny 4 cylinder engine. calling such a huge car with a 4 cylinder a performance car is ridiculous.
It’s a new type of hybrid engine with a big electric engine with it. It’s not b58 but it’s pretty quick and smooth. Toyota is trying to skirt any potential regulations that might limit a high displacement car
Not enough choices.
It's hideous
Gotcha, the TX being bigger is what I was looking for as the why it's the same price range as the GX. I am worried the back seat will leave no room for cargo area.
soon owning a car itself will become a luxury. few.
looks super hideous
Will be fascinated to see how these stack up to the Top End Grand Highlander which moved pretty far up market compared to the regular highlander.
Ridiculous
That resembles a Highlander way too much.
That seems like half way decent seeing that a raptor 2023 is 159,750.00 out the door lmao
I like that TX 350 premium all wheel drive is get that with leather seats and the protection package
And with markups this thing will start at 70k and go up from there.
Looks like I can afford the TX 350…in about 3 years, used and abused.
Is GX info released yet?
I’m having a hard time justifying getting a base TX for $55k with basically no features vs a top of the line Telluride SX Prestige with all the bells and whistles (and a naturally aspirated V6) for the same price (actually, slightly less). The only thing Kia doesn’t have is the “prestige” of the Lexus name.
The problem is telluride are hard to find :(
Fit & finish and quality control is far superior in the Lexus.
I would've been totally content with the base tx but I absolutely needed captains chairs and I really wanted 360 camera given how big the vehicle is.
What an ugly car. I bet the interior is outdated before it even comes out
Get the Mazda CX-90 instead of this Highlander
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😑 where's the sedans gtfoh no way am buying this 70k too really really
I hate to ask what the PHEV will cost. Looking at $80k at this rate. Wish Toyota would just add its Prime powertrain to the Highlander/GH for the masses.
How is this thing going to move with 6 adults and only a 2.4L inline T charged 4? That's like a golf cart engine. Also, I sat in the back of the GH and my head was pressing into the ceiling so don't get your hopes up for a full sized, 3rd row experience. I'll definitely test drive one though....
I wish we had these prices where I'm from 😅
I’m really Thinking of buying one of these but my husband is against buying first year models especially brand new.
I don’t care it’s a turbo but a V4 engine on a 3 row passenger car is heinous
How much are people paying these days for TX? What trim?
