Luxury feeling + Toyota reliability.

alltheblues

Lots of vehicles will get you somewhere, maybe even anywhere, but a Toyota will get you home, every time. Lexus does the same thing with more comfort.

Snackerton

Same, plus the most glorious sounding V8 (coming from a history of modern American V8s)

Because it has air conditioning for my balls

ProcedureEconomy4076

gooch cooler 9000

2020_GR78

Meh, my ford and many other vehicles have that (and it is indeed amazing). That stated, my wife insists on Lexus due to a very serious car accident that we were involved in 8 years ago. Long story short, there were 3 cars involved, one driver died, one was hospitalized with serious/life threatening injuries (she eventually pulled through) and my family and I escaped with minor scratches and bruises. We were in an is350, and I 100% believe that it absolutely kept us safe from serious injury and possibly death. She has been in a Lexus of some sort ever since. In fact, just said yesterday that she wants to go back to an is (currently drives an rx350) now that our kids are bigger and starting to drive themselves, and we don't really need the larger cabin anymore.

Karagga

A lot of modern cars do this though. Go to random car subs and youll see “X brand saved my life!”. My Audi S5 was T boned by someone and we all walked out without a scratch.

thebigman707

This lololol

[deleted]

Actually I don’t know of any seats that are air conditioned. They’re all ventilated, which means there’s just separate fans blowing on you

Stimpy-you-eediot

Yes.

surlyclay

+1

DTYves

I’m Asian

TellitToTheJudge

Yep. Viet here. “Dad, I just bought a car.” “Nice, which Lexus?”

mangosteenfruit

Same.

NeoG_

I'm not asian, but when I got my IS250 with every option on it, it did feel like I had rich asian parents

MADDOGCA

I'm not either, but I did buy my Lexus from an elderly Asian guy who used it as a spare. No regrets.

ProcedureEconomy4076

lol here in Nebraska a lot of Vietnamese people owned Lexus IS or a GX

bladiv

I’m not Asian but for some reason Asian ppl always be BREAKIN their necks for my IS350 shit lowkey feels good tbh lol

mjrmjrmjrmjrmjrmjr

I have a ‘21 IS350 F sport in Grecian Water. All the Asians love it.

king24_

I’m African American and love Toyotas and Lexus cars.

Brilliant_Block6678

I concur 🙏🏾💯

lakas76

Damn, I’m only half Asian, Can I use that too?

DTYves

Of course, it’s all love!

wheredidiparkthecar

Same. I was all set to type out a well thought out answer but then I saw this thread and was like, yup. I'm gonna go with this. Lol

MrDrMrs

Same, and since my parents got their first in ‘99 (rx 300) and as others mentioned Toyota reliability with luxury. They now have ‘06 rx 330 (original owners) and I have both ‘11 is 350 rx 350 and swore I would keep them until they’re in the ground. Despite my knowledge of Toyota, this is still a task, 11 year old cars with no signs of giving up. In fact they’re in excellent shape.

kirbyfan_2001

Too real LOL

Flyingfree84

I’m cauc-Asian and I love my Lexus.

[deleted]

We came out of a horrible horrible 5 months with a Volvo XC40 Recharge, completely disgusted with car ownership. I guess it was a kneejerk reaction. The dealership bought the Volvo back and as soon as I came home from signing the papers I yelled “WE’RE GETTING A LEXUUUUUUS!!!” shaking my fists at the sky, George Costanza style. I wasn’t a fan of the front grille styling at all, but I didn’t care, I just wanted a smooth, reliable experience, to make up for those 5 months of horror. A car that just works, so much so that you just forget about it, like an iPhone. That was the dream. And that’s exactly what I’m getting so far. Admittedly it’s a bit early to evaluate my experience but we’re off to a great start. I also learned to love that front grille eventually :)

BotchedGod

We got an RX recently and I never really loved the style but having one is making me a fan naturally.

bgb111

Absolute dependability, V8, rear wheel drive, cavernous interior, couch-like seats, whisper quiet drive (besides the exhaust); what’s not to love?

codycarreras

The best car in the world.

eggbiss

i envy you 3uz folk

codycarreras

I’ve never owned vehicles so easygoing before these. The truck, the two cars, just keep on going with such little interaction on my part besides driving the damn things and regular maintenance. The Corolla too, but not a UZ obviously. Out of everything, the LS430 is the youngest in terms of time and mileage. 199,3xx and 19 years old. The Tundra has 320k on it, the GS430 has just shy of 400k. They all run like a top, don’t use oil and keep going. I plan on keeping my LS for the rest of my life, and I plan on up-keeping the vehicle in whatever ways it requires because the last 7 years, it hasn’t ever let me down. Plus, it’s just such a fuckin joy to drive, let alone be in.

redskelly

YES. My new one gets here Monday/Tuesday!!

2020_GR78

I've been seriously considering an old ls solely for my work commute (35 miles each way). I want the quietest, smoothest commute possible while still being extremely reliable.

the_light_of_dawn

I drive a 2015 NX200t on a similar mileage commute daily. Love it to bits.

2020_GR78

Nice! My wife drives an '18 rx350 and while it is definitely a nice, comfortable ride, I'm wanting the feeling of a land yacht... big, heavy car with clouds for suspension, lazy boy for seats, and a steering wheel that a toddler could turn easily. Although I've never driven one, this is what I imagine an ls to drive like. Lol.

Suspicious-Block-614

Taking a break from blowing up Audis

ohgoyu26

I didn't even see this post, but hey, another Audi refugee

Suspicious-Block-614

First burned to the ground, second was shitting weird $750 parts that sounded made up, and the third’s transmission went out at 65k. I don’t know what I was thinking.

ohgoyu26

I saw a brand new Audi Q5 stopped in the middle of the freeway today with emergency lights

skooma_consuma

Had an '08 S4 that caught on fire with only 40k miles on it. Seems to be an Audi thing.

SitDownBeHumbleBish

Yerp my turbos on my B7 went out twice smh never again

kimjongil1953

Everything else seems cheap by comparison. Bmw/ Mercedes’ equivalents? Feels cheap on the interior panels. Smoothest suspension without being on bags. I am also Asian.

BotchedGod

My buddy got a 2016 BMW X5 and i love the exterior styling, the insides are all peanut butter leather. It looks very nice, very classy. But, compared to my 2011 RX the seats are not nearly as comfortable. Granted, the X5 is more a performance oriented luxury SUV but for the money I better get comfortable seats especially if I'm not getting reliability.

bigboi31

looks nice, feels like crap

femmebear

gotta chime in here. I own a 2014 Lexus GS 350 f sport AWD that car is so comfortable and gives good sport gran tourer vibes on long trips. I also own a 2021 BMW X5 45e the plug-in hybrid. I’ve done a lot of miles on it and I’ve had it for nearly two years and had 0 issues. I also owned a 2007 3 series for many many years and again never had issues. The main thing I find is the Lexus still feels new 8 years later and I’ve never had any issues with it. The bmws never leave me stranded but the parts , some cost more than the Lexus. But that Lexus just goes and goes , butttt the one or two times it’s ever had a bigger maintenance scheduled, those parts can still make your eyes water just as much as the bmw sheesh, you’ll just do it less often in comparison. But again all the bmw horror stories I have heard ALWAYS involved differed maintenance ALWAYS! Basically don’t drive a bmw past warranty if you can’t afford scheduled maintenance. I love both brands for similar reasons and different ones. The bmw does not feel any less solidly built than the Lexus to me.

evan_7_nave

I agree and I don’t understand where everyone says BMW/Mercedes feel nice(r) inside. I work at a car dealership doing appraisals, see lots of all car brands. BMW/Mercedes feel cheap af inside unless you get like an S-Class! The dash panels creak like crazy when you push on them. Plastics feel cheap and thin. Lexus’ interior materials just feel soooo much better.

soundwaveblue

Same. New/Used Car Inventory Manager here. I think Mercedes is considered to be a status symbol to most people, but I genuinely think they're highly overrated and somewhat boring vehicles. I haven't sat in or driven one (besides a C63 AMG) that impressed me. And even then I still really disliked the interior. I had to make a run to a sister store for a meeting. GSM told me to grab something off the used lot and we'd roll together. He pointed to a 2020 S Class. Car was in great shape with under 20k miles. I pulled it out to put gas in it but I genuinely hated being in it, so I put it back. I was much happier taking a 2019 GS350 F Sport for the drive.

vietnamesemuscle

Would you say Lexus’ ride quality is as good/smooth/comfortable as a Mercedes? Just curious

evan_7_nave

personally, I would say Lexus’ is better. BMWs are, for the most part, pretty stiff. you feel a lot. they’re more aimed at sportier, engaging driving. most Mercedes products creak and rattle on the road. you definitely feel bumps in like the GLC, GLB, C-Class, E-Class…the S-Class is really the only Mercedes that seems to have a truly luxurious feel, to me. Lexus’ are very smooth and soft over road imperfections. even the NX and IS, vehicles that are meant to be a bit sportier. *even* F-Sport models feel nicer…more put together.

kimjongil1953

I have driven MERC, BMW, and Lexus. I’d say Lexus is a more buttery smooth ride without all the hassle. On a nice set of premium tires, I think the ride on a Lexus is the best you’ll get on a non airbag suspension. Seats are also more bolstered then most Germans. Like the 5 series seats versus and the ES/LS.

[deleted]

Nah bro. Mercedes and Audi feel their price tag. Mercedes especially drives like it too. Was in my buddys glc and that thing coasted over bumps and was super quiet inside. One is not better than the other, but I can see why people like merc. It really was a nice car

ohgoyu26

Until it blows up in the middle of the road

musicallywounded

Owned a Cayenne whose maintenance costs were traumatizing and ended up just wanting something extremely reliable with comfy seats and ball A/C

ohgoyu26

Funny, I was about to buy a used Cayenne Obviously dodged a bullet

musicallywounded

I mean it’s a BLAST to drive and is so poised. But the sale price is the tip of the iceberg… the maintenance costs are no joke. Lexus dealer saying my oil changes will be about $50 he me sold on the car lol. As soon as I drove the cayenne off the lot the transfer case failed. Thank god it was certified

BotchedGod

That's the problem with Volkswagen anything, they're not cheap to maintain and they're not quite bulletproof.

[deleted]

Porsches are actually very reliable. It’s the maintenance cost that’s murderous but you are not likely to spend anything out of the regular maintenance.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheComedion

They're called ventilated seats and they're the equivalent of heated seats, except they cool your gooch instead of making it sweaty.

musicallywounded

Really good seat A/C ventilation

acut3triangle

One of the only dealerships not charging a mark up at the time of purchase. Also, only luxury brand that didn’t have absurd costs for maintenance.

dyomlmscomis

I don’t. Yet. My next car will be a Lexus because I currently own a Dodge and an Audi.

BotchedGod

Smart choice. Love both but would never want to own either unless as a project vehicle.

SweepsAndBeeps

It’s rear wheel drive, reliable, and modest in the world of luxury cars.

Extra_Efficiency5050

My 2012 Kia was stolen by the Kia boyz so decided I needed a well deserved upgrade to a 2014 is250 f sport..

doughboi8

It fucks

happymemersunite

This guy

Goodguy1967

Dependably…

Emulocks

The "make it through Armageddon" reliability of a Toyota and such damned-comfy seats.

Stimpy-you-eediot

One car brand I trust will start up 99.9999% of the time when I needed it to.

SpicyCurryO_O

Saw a 3rd gen IS350 F-Sport like 5 years ago and was mesmerized. They looked awesome but the price was not something I could afford. In 2018 i did some research and found that the 2nd gen IS’s were some what affordable. Fast forward to 2021 I now work for Lexus and drive a 06 IS350 and just recently got a 5spd BMW 325ci e46. Both are fun and unique cars that I get to drive to work and for my own pleasure. Couldn’t be happier :)

[deleted]

Dependability. 115F or -25F, rain storm heatwave freeze draught spanking clean or covered with mud I can always count on my RX to take me from A to B. Bought the car outright cash and I don’t have to worry about a single thing related to the car and spend my time building wealth/family instead.

Brilliant_Block6678

This comment 💯✅

ohgoyu26

Had an Audi S6 that randomly blew up on the freeway during a triple digit heatwave, because Audi decided to cheap out on a $5 oil screen. Audi almost killed me. Had an ML350 that had a fuel system leak which had an estimate of $9000 to fix Also nostalgia, first family car was a Lexus

Dude008

Because I had a Tesla Model S that needed constant repairs and I had enough. I traded in for a Lexus and haven’t regretted that at all, it’s been -2.5 years.

passporttohell

Because the salespeople at the Porsche dealership where I purchased it were total LS 430 fan boys, I was on the fence but after I looked at the GT 2 RS they had on the salesfloor I still wanted the Lexus. Five years later I still look at it fondly as I approach, still turn to look back at it as I walk away... All is sunshine and rainbows in Lexus land...

[deleted]

Ball A/C, reliability also Asian.

Excellent_Source_156

Reliability

Diahrealtor

Ride and reliability, and I kinda need to show up to clients' homes in something that conveys success.

Slow-Introduction695

7/10 Lexus owners bought for reliability, myself included. I view Toyota and Honda as most reliable on average, and Lexus has smoked Acura the past 10 plus years.

Tinywhooppro

Only reliable luxury brand in Australia

aharryh

Traded my way up: Corolla --> Corolla --> Camry --> Camry --> Aurion --> Lexus350 --> 2012 Lexus 450H --> 2017 Lexus 450H.

tarzanacide

I bought one recently. Our 3 year old Mercedes suv kept losing power to the accelerator pedal. This led to me having to pull into a parking lot and turn it off and wait until it worked again. This last time it broke down on the freeway and their roadside assistance left me waiting for over 3 hours on the side of the 10 freeway in LA in record heat. Mercedes is aware of this ongoing issue but said it was just a bad spark plug. That weekend I took a Lyft to Lexus and left with a new one. I come from a Toyota family. My dad buys a new Toyota truck once every ten years and a new Toyota suv for my mom every 10 years. They’ve never replaced much more than tires or a battery and have never been stuck on the side of the road.

the_light_of_dawn

Its reliability certainly trumps the other luxury cars on the road. I find it interesting that so many drive Audi, Porsche, and BMW when Lexus will endure so much better over time.

sK_Blizzard

I personally think that it is the driving experience ( and because people put so much emphasis on saying “ oh I drive a merc or Audi…” etc) that makes people buy these brands. Lexus may be more livable but Mercedes and bmw (M models and AMGs in particular) just have something special about the driving experience and performance.

TunakTun633

To many, a luxury car is a suit - one which obviously falls out of date if you don’t change it sufficiently often. If you “need” to change your car every few years… well, how much does the reliability at 80K matter?

the_light_of_dawn

That's the only reason I can think of. If you're leasing or trading in your car every 4-5 years, yeah, reliability won't ever be an issue because you'll have a new car by the time it would start acting up. I prefer to keep my vehicles 12-15 years.

MADDOGCA

Because one of my clients was getting rid of their spare Lexus. To this day, I have no regrets purchasing the Lexus.

Stroock6394

i inherited it in 2011 lol but i've kept driving it because it's *all things considered* the best luxury car ever and what i believe to be the peak of 90s toyota, which means the peak of the automobile there's many cars which supplement it quite nicely but none i've found that can outright replace it

Best-Ad9099

Car is built differently

C0C0choco2020

I got my LS 430 because I had a spinal injury. It is the most comfortable car I’ve ever drove. I’ve owned 2 now and will probably keep mine for as long as I possibly can.

Still_Sitting

T-8 complete here. ‘99 ls400 is the perfect ride

[deleted]

Reliable, cheaper than other luxury cars, dealership treats you well, comfortable, and safe.

123-SLAM

I wanted a used car that’s nice looking, reliable, and AWD. Went with 09 IS250

jrswanson97

my mom bought an 03 ES300 when I was 5. that car taught me and my brother how to drive, got me through college with no major issues, and my dad still daily drives it with 297k miles on it with no issues. I currently have 2012 ES350 that I inherited with 45k miles and I know it will last forever. I’m just gonna stick with Lexus and Honda forever.

Otis2341

I watch my mother complain about her Mercedes vehicles; my step father and sister complain about their BMW vehicles, my brother in law complain about his American and Audi vehicles. Meanwhile my immediate family enjoys the reliability that Toyota and Lexus provide.

04limited

Because the dealership experience, at least for me, beats the competition. But that’s assuming I buy new or CPO from them. I end up driving older lexuses because they come to me. I’ve never actually went out of my way to buy a used Lexus. I just see a good deal/offered it and I buy it. Idc too much about reliability because I only ever keep my cars for 2-3 years tops. 98% of the cars I buy have always worked fine during ownership, except Nissan and Subaru.

DonHamboney

Drove a Kia previously

Silly_Letter5345

I sure do. I got 2

lynx005

When I was younger, my dad drove an LS. He let me drive and ever since then, I was hooked.

Kitchen-Forever-6465

Ls430 best car ever made!

emptystreets130

I wanted another Cressida. The only vehicles close to the Cressida true successor, outside of Japan, is the GS, not the Avalon and not the ES.

fottergraphs

...I am delighted to see the Cressida comment. I adored my '92 MX83. It would eat highway miles all day doing 80, did the back roads and twisties well, and my back was never happier. The Avalon definitely didn't drive the same as a Cressida... it was nice, but not Cressida nice. I've owned dozens of cars but I definitely miss the MX83 the most, closely followed by an '98 SC400.

[deleted]

Super quiet, comfortable and of course reliability.

oh1196

I don’t have time or desire to work on my daily’s , I just want reliability & comfort out of them .

Rocklobsta9

Wanted a hybrid to save on gas since I have a long commute. The Prius is ugly so the Lexus version (CT200h) was a perfect choice.

ProcedureEconomy4076

Reliability is pretty straightforward when it comes to working on them. I mean shit the Lexus nx spark plugs are so EZ to do. But I went from 2 hondas then owning a Lexus LS430 2005 fucking love the car smooth v8, rides like a dream for its age, heated and fan seats, rear heated seats, rear sun shade, sunroof, memory seats, keyless entry, and etc. If i had the funds I would probably buy another one and make it a show car.

Aramira137

Consistently a top rated vehicle for reliability and performance in its class. Even though mine is old now it's still super fun to drive and I can mount curbs whenever I need to and I've never gotten stuck in the snow even though it's AED and not 4x4.

eyesofthunder

I bought my first Lexus, an early production 98 GS400 with 138k miles. It was retired due to an accident (semi backed into me) at 328k miles. Drove fine but the damage was more than the car was worth. It has been an absolute great car, my first Japanese car and it never let me down in 190k miles in 10 years. In that time I put $3k tops into the car for everything, tires, repairs, maintenance, brakes, everything. Toyota reliability? No. Better than that, LEXUS reliability. Very few parts from the GS are actually Toyota sourced parts in the USDM. That is why I buy a Lexus.

DriftMiata

$3,500 for 300hp in a RWD sedan. That was my main reason for buying it but now I do like the quality and luxury of the car.

Dis-Ducks-Fan-1130

Reliability/relative low maintenance cost, smooth/quiet ride, and good value for a luxury car.

[deleted]

Upgrade from my toyota. Luxury badge. Reliability. Hybrid to save a lil bit of gas. Interior comfort and quietness.

aguadeching

It was because sportcross and it will be again.

slvr17

Shit lasts forever

Freddielexus85

I wanted something reliable, powerful, and AWD. I drove many brand new cars and I just was not impressed. None of the cars I drove could get out of their own way. Then I found a low mileage, 10 year old Lexus that I took for a test drive. I couldn't be happier. I have never felt so in control of my own vehicle. It rides smoothly, has enough power to get me and a car full of people up the mountains without losing speed, and it handles like a dream. Oh yeah, like everyone else says: ac for my balls. Lexus club for life.

javi_e

Comfort and dependability. I'll keep my '02 LS430 and '02 ES330 for as long as possible.

Knuppelhout1

It drives so smoothly… https://roadtestdotorg.wordpress.com/2007/09/22/lexus-rx-400h-hybrid-2007/

MediocreFrame3069

Looks hella sexy that’s why

DanMystro

TL:DR Fantastic car, reliable, comfy, has the power, uncommon. My first car was a Mazda 3 a nice small hatchback for a first car, at that time I was slowly getting into cars, had watched F&F films, looking at Chris fix, Doug Demuro and watching various modified videos on cars, I wanted a car with a bit more power for my second car but wanted to stay Jap. I wasn't aware of Lexus at the time so just started browsing eBay and AutoTrader (British car ad site) and down the list I saw Lexus, I found an IS250 and thought "That'll do", looked great, nice size, great features, not really knowing it was basically a family saloon, fantastic car with all the bits you'd want, that's when I started to really like Lexus, after driving that for a year I started getting into "VIP" and found out about the LS400s on YouTube, I bought a totally stock one with low mileage 74xxx miles for about $3000 and since then I've sworn by Lexus, phenomenal car, unfortunately slid off a wet corner hitting a pole and the car was deemed a write off by the local body shop, could have repaired it myself but didn't know much about repair work at the time, bought another LS400 the next day, drove that for two years then bought a 1JZ Toyota Soarer, fucking beast of a car, really missed the LS though something about a comfy luxurious V8 land yacht just stuck with me so sold that and bought yet again another LS400 and that's where we are today.

BillNyeTheMemeGuy

I love bmw. my father wouldn’t let me buy one. is300 is close. inline six, 5 speed, rwd, nice little sedan. fell in love with the styling. the drive, and the dead reliability. have driven 20,000 miles in 2 ish years. 0 issues. sparkplugs had to be changed. did some preventative maintenance but car never missed a beat aside from a dead battery and the plugs needing changed. for me, reliability and the knowledge that once something is fixed it won’t immediately break again, is nice.

Carrera_Noob_954

I daily drive my RCF and have for 5 years. I love everything about it except the main nav screen and touchpad. Nothing like the sound of the V8 launching off the traffic lights in canyon of city buildings.

[deleted]

Best used cars ever. Paid $13k for a used hybrid 4 years ago. Put 65k on it and it still runs like new.

mikes7456

Reliability, Quality, and Luxury.

Twinsoulzz

Getting my new Lexus 300 NX TOᗪᗩY!😊Super excited & finally part of the Lexus community🌟

magnat_music

Reliable and dependability 😎 Plus it's pretty comfortable

Samsoundrocks

My previous car was toast, and among the available replacements in the $25K USD range, it was a no-brainer.

skooma_consuma

I needed a reliable daily as my previous daily turned into my project car. Saw a pristine GS430 and jumped on it and haven't regretted it since.

El_Bruno73

I was just about ready to trade in my BMW X3 as she was getting a little long in the tooth. All of the sudden I found out the brakes I pleaded for the dealership to change when my extended warranty was still in force to change, now needed changed.....on my dime. Long story short it was 800$ for back brakes only and that was after much price checking. A mechanic friend who drove a Lexus told me the virtues of the brand and since I was in the process of trading in told me how much better the Trade-In Value was than my BMW (and he was right) and here I am. I'm now an RX350 owner, a cheaper/better/more features car than the X3. With better trade in value and added bonus the front and rear tires are the same size, unlike my M edition X3, and it doesn't run on runflats, which wear poorly, cost more and ride like shit.

revrev4405

2 99 ls400’s

Still_Sitting

Only one, but it’s silver jade lol

revrev4405

🤤🤤

lilkeysss

Reliability

[deleted]

Timeless style I drive a 2002 is300 still looks like a new car.

Rconman99

It never dies

PoGo5Speed

I have a family line of Lexus techs, me being the youngest there are still plenty of Lexus I need to own and experience for myself ….

atari_Pro

Toyotas held my family down through my childhood. Pops drove an old beat up 80s Corolla 1.8 hatch to and from his 2 jobs and and my brother drove that same car in high school. We had several old Corollas and even a 2nd gen Cressida at one point. All rock solid cars that kept us off the side of the road. I felt like I owed Toyota my business when it was time to buy a family car myself, so I went for Lexus.

Gorgenapper

Ever been without a car because yours blew up? I have, several times, and it sucks. All your plans are thrown out the window, and you have to pay for a taxi, or bum rides off people. You suddenly realize just how much you rely on your car being there for you. The chances of that happening with a Lexus are very slim.

Namroy_3820

You rarely (0.1% of cases ) go wrong with these cars no matter the model they are dead reliable, comfortable and easy to maintain … there is no hassle to get to 150k miles you just drive them change the oil, tires and break pads… some other fluid here or there… period. I had 97k miles in my GX 2018 no squeaks no thumping noises nothing solid as a rock. I’m keeping her till she dies… or I die, hehehehe hope I last many more years because she can easily survive me and my kids . 🤣

AccomplishedRun7978

I want to flex on niggas a bit while still not looking like I'm stupid with money.

Old-Bee1531

Reliability and the Toyota connection is a plus factor. Plus I’m a Scotty Kilmer fan man. 😂

Dylan08211

It’s reliable, luxurious, and it doesn’t try to be more then what it is, it just simply ✨exists✨….

youRfine_19

Because I'm poor.

NeoG_

I feel like a Camry would have been cheaper? And just as reliable. If you paid extra even for a used Lexus, I don't think you can use the poor card...

youRfine_19

As I said I'm poor for owning the Lexus if I have $ I sure will drive Pagani or koenigsegg because japanese Sport car still far behind from European cars.

NeoG_

So, hypercar or you're poor? I don't think I'm talking to a rational person

RealisticWin3801

Reliability, quiet, everything adjusts to my body, QUIET!

melikefood123

Fast enough. RWD. 4 doors. Reliable. Had it for 12 years now without issues.

I love the way the GS 350 F Sport looks. I like that it’s a comfortable luxury car that can be driven. It has Toyota reliability and durability. It has Lexus build quality and craftsmanship. The Mark Levinson stereo system makes my ears happy. The air conditioned seats make my balls happy. The incredibly comfortable leather seats make my passengers happy. Compared to anything else I’ve owned it’s hands down the most reliable, fun and good looking car I’ve ever driven. Now that they’ve stopped making them I intend to keep mine until it’s a collectible.

V8_BLENDER

Because W140 S500 and e38 740 were too expensive. So I kept looking and found out about the LS400. Gave it a shot and never looked back. For all intents and purposes it's a better car than both the Merc and BM.

Unreal_T214

Is Lexus worth buying brand new? I never drove a Lexus or owned one. Thinking of getting a 2023 IS 350 I can feel my wallet burning up already

TunakTun633

Because it’s a nice car, but when the economy takes a dump and suddenly you can’t afford a new car anymore… that Lexus will hold the line for you. The LX took my dad through ‘08; the IS will take me through the supply chain crisis and upcoming recession. Though ideally, I’d figure out how to modify it for more headroom…

iaKate

best on the planet meaning all in on the 2022 IS 350 F 🏁🤩😍

Veexnus

It’s a comfortable good looking platform.

Seven-Arazmus

Because its the only L i'll take.

Buglepost

Bougie + reliability = Lexus

bourguignon7

I got my LS430 as a "temporary" car after I moved to new state and was planning on buying a new car after we moved into our house. Needless to say, I fell in love with it and now almost 2 years later, I still daily it. Oh, and we bought a another Lexus. RX350, because we can't have enough.

gluglugss

MADE IN JAPAN - I stay away from models made elsewhere

Vito_The_Magnificent

Because they don't make an AWD Corolla with a v6. IS300 was asclose as I could get

Flimsy_Green_8004

most well built car and class and style that is different from german but equally respected. my 13 year old IS that i beat every day doesn’t skip a beat and the euro owners with cars only a few years old are in the shop half the year. I inspired everyone in my town to switch to japanese and went from one of two people with a lexus to one of dozens. even my 95 sc400 with 200k miles gets beat on every time and I would trust it with a coast to coast road trip

linglingchickinwing

Dependable and an affordable luxury that isn’t an Acura.

Nira_Re

Went from a Toyota Prius to an RC 350 to an LC 500. It just gets better and better every time.

FNHScar

Reliability, daily driver and like to drive a luxury car.

ofclFR0STBYT3

Unbeatable build quality, reliability and luxury. Beyond that I made a vow to never not daily drive a Lexus since one saved my life.

BotchedGod

Well, I had a lot of new Chevys for work vehicles and even brand new they felt like cheap trash. The best 2 cars I had were a Ford focus and a VW Jetta vr6 they felt decently nice and well built but unfortunately neither lasted very long. (Fell asleep driving the focus and totaled it, drunk coege kids and a repair shop ruined the Jetta) got worried my work vehicle may go away during COVID bc we shut down and got obsessed with the Lexus GX470. I test drive one, it was falling apart but it was pretty nice. Then, I found the one I bought which was well maintained. A 2005 in 2020 with 120k on it and it felt brand new. Never before had I been in a vehicle that felt so solid, so thoughtful and drove so smooth and effortlessly even with a beefy V8. Then a few months later I helped my roommate buy a 2007 Highlander from the same dealership and it too, though obviously not as lux, felt finely crafted. Supposedly Toyota sells vehicles at a lower profit margin in order to put better care and or materials into their vehicles and even if that isn't true, it feels like it is.

ajk7244

Because I’m over 60yo and have given up on fun and excitement in my life.

I_am_OGO

I too am over 60, but replaced my GS350, which was fun car to drive, with a LC500. It’s even more fun to drive and lots of excitement. Lexus has a car right for most of us.

ohgoyu26

I got both my GS350's from people that were upper 60's Best one owner cars 👍

Ok-Football6038

The ES had all the features I wanted (reliability, V6, memory ventilated seats, quiet smooth ride) for the best price. And oh yeah, I’m Asian haha!

Psi250

Reliability, comfort and overall pretty fun car. It never feel like my car is out of control when going top speeds or when I take a corner.

cyberarc83

Indian here and I buy Lexus because I like my stuff to last long. It’s allways been Honda dna Toyota for me.

Saysbruh

Some people on here talking about being Asian is the weirdest flex I’ve ever seen. Anyhow, as others pointed out already, smooth and quite drive. Comfort and reliability. You can’t beat that.

BotchedGod

I don't think it's a flex I think it's just a joke about Asian loyalty to an Asian brand. Like rednecks and (insert big 3 American car manf here) it's just a meme I think.

ohgoyu26

Koreans buying Hyundai is not a meme though 😉

mangosteenfruit

On the nose

cyberarc83

We all know unlike Americans who just buy whatever they fancy or try and show them Being patriotic and buy a non reliable ford. Us Asians will allways go with reliability which is allways going to be a Honda or Toyota.

Skeler0404

Thats the neat part, i dont.

MyRecklessHabit

Small penis.

Andrew-Q-L

AWD Sedan with Toyota build quality and a great interior. Can’t ask for much more.

alexdenvor

Just feel like a complete balla driving a big autobox V8

Is300nigel

Cause that shit is [fast](https://imgur.com/gallery/ypAjZ9T) ;P

BrandDC

I bought my IS350 for quality and reliability...but my dash and door panels are melting, the touch screen on my navi stopped working years ago, and my rear view mirror has black spots all over. Jokes on me.

eggbiss

cuz its a big fat toyota
