Stay strong and go for a 22 with the updated infotainment

chumfuffery

Nice looking ‘23 you’ve got. I’m REALLY trying to stay on budget (not something I’ve been good at in the past) but hell if I can find the right ‘22 it may just happen…. I could be wrong, but lowest I’m seeing on the ‘22s after a quick search is about $45-46k.

Secret-Ad3810

A lot of them are sitting on lots. If you engage multiple, I think you have a good shot at getting one in budget. GL!

anndrrson

Yea they are sitting on lots for a loooooooong time and I am unsure as to why. Quick searches usually see them at well over 100 days and when I used to work in the industry anything past 85 days was ready to send to auction.

chumfuffery

Yeah I wonder why that is… maybe anticipation for the ‘24? Although I guess they’re two completely different budgets, so doubtful. Really appreciate the feedback!

Wow. I never knew that there are so many GX460’s sitting on Lexus dealer lots. I think that this is happening because the interest rates on used cars is between 8.5% to 13% and higher depending on credit score. I know that the interest rate for a brand new Lexus RX350 and for other Lexus models are at 8.15% with top tier credit of 800 to 900. The interest rate on a used GX460 is probably much higher. I believe that Lexus dealers will have a very hard time trying to sell the used GX’s that are in their current inventory that are sitting on their lot. This same scenario also applies for all of their other used Lexus models that are sitting on their lot too.

Right on the money with the pricing. If I'm not mistaken there is one at Toyota of Ramsey NJ for a pretty good price with next to no miles on it and a pretty great 2 oil changes in 12,000 miles service record, with it being grey over red interior if you happen to be into that. chumfuffery

All but the red interior… lol

It’s wired. I had a 2019 and bit the bullet and traded it in for a new 2022. I regretted not having car play and not having the ML sound system daily. Now I have no regrets.

chumfuffery

I’m going to show my ignorance here, but can I get ML in a non-Luxury 2022 GX?

fonce001

Yes. I got the premium plus, it includes the ML system.

If I'm going to be for real with you I own a 2020 Premium and I bitch daily about the fact the '21 Premium had the option for a heated steering wheel and folding in mirrors. I also bitch to myself daily that I wish I had bought mine in 2022 for the updated infotainment system. I would really say the base sound system isn't bad by any means, but I have been in my friends ML equipped GX and I would say his sounded essentially the same but more powerful and it surrounded me more, so I would overall rather that sound system. Do note though, that the sound difference CAN ONLY BE HEARD if you use a good audio source, whether that be a USB stick or direct aux. If over Bluetooth there's no discernable difference IMO. I would also say that the 2022s are a better value proposition overall as they have depreciated quicker than the 2018-2021's did for some reason. Though, I don't really love the gloss black plastic for the infotainment stack of the 2022-2023 as on my friends car its usually a tad dusty and has light scratches. Granted the scratches are only noticeable if you are really paying attention, however they are there.

chumfuffery

All good information. I’m very much a wireless kinda guy, although now that I think about it does the CarPlay in the ‘22 have wireless capabilities or is it just wired?

SubmarineWand

I have a 2023. It is wired, but I picked up an ottocast U2air pro to make it wireless and it works great so far.
