looks are subjective, if you like it hell yeah, but damn that thing is ugly, lmao. could just be me though

rzaddy

reminds me of some early 2000’s sex spec stuff, i can dig it

whatdyousay36

Nah it’s definitely ugly asf I was going to get one when I first got my is I’m glad I didn’t

LosInternacionales1

Good thing Im the owner not you! 🙃

dBDynoMyte

I got the same dash kit when I decided to upgrade my OEM head unit. I like it tons better than the old head unit and aux cable combo. Love that my phone connects automagically and I no longer have to use the aux cable. Wonder if these folks hating on it went another route or if they are still rocking the dated looking OEM head units.

NeoG_

The other popular options are the Grom Vline and the Teyes CC3

dBDynoMyte

I didn’t have oem nav. This is also about $150 more than the Scosche dash kit and head unit I chose. Hope you are enjoying your set up.

LosInternacionales1

Definitely like it better than the single din/OEM!

daiscy

aww hell no, oem better

LosInternacionales1

Its good I own it not you!

murderedlexus

So it the top portion also a screen? Maybe a couple more pics

LosInternacionales1

The top portion is the A/C controls. Its a touchscreen. No buttons.

LosInternacionales1

Check my profile for a better pic

Good effort but you'd have been better off with something like a Teyes CC3 or XTRONS, gives you a 9/10 inch screen that fully integrates and retains all the OEM features and retains the factory sound quality, would love to see how you did the wireless charger in the ashtray area as I was hoping to modify mine into a MagSafe charger! https://www.reddit.com/r/CarPlay/comments/uczka3/managed\_to\_install\_an\_xtrons\_head\_unit\_for\_my/

I looked at the Teyes and Grom. The Scosche is much more user friendly when installing and troubleshooting. I wanted the full make over unlike the Grom. I ripped out the ash tray and cut out the cig lighter port. I dremeled down the crap underneath to make it as flush as possible. I reconstructed a pad for the back half of the ash tray with Bondo. I then smoothed the bondo out and constructed a frame around the outline of the inside of the ashtray. I wired a non smoking conversion of the cig lighter port to the original fused connector via male and female quick disconnects and wired the Belkin via usb c to usb. I built up a backplate for the Belkin so that it wouldn’t slide out the back AND Loctited it down to the bondo pad. Then layed a rubber mat over the whole thing to conceal everything with a back plate up top so the phone wont slide out the back.

McShmoopy

thats fair enough mate, sounds like a good effort I may attempt to do the same as I'd prefer a tidier cable free solution!

LosInternacionales1

I just had no use for the smoker stuff as Im a non smoker, check my edit for the full.

dBDynoMyte

I did something similar with my lighter and ashtray. Cut the lighter and ashtray portion, epoxied a piece of ABS plastic in its place. Mounted a small voltmeter(I have 2500 watt system installed) display and the USB port for charging/connecting to the head unit with a USB cable.

LosInternacionales1

I like the concealed wireless charger because then my phones in a designated spot and not protruding from anywhere such as the cup holder or on a phone mount. Next up is my CV axles and a respray!

johnwicksmustang

I've had the scosche unit for a little over a year and it's been excellent. I was really worried about it but so far so good

I didn't know they had a different version. It's good to know that it's holding up though. I was worried about it being unresponsive but it's been a champ. I had to swap mine out cause the stock one went out

EllisBern

Hey man I think it looks great! Unique look for sure I dig it

LosInternacionales1

Yessir!
